Modern MSGs are largely driven by power\r\nelectronic converters due to their high efficiency and flexibility.\r\nNevertheless, controlling MSGs is a challenging task due to highest\r\nrequirements on energy availability, safety and voltage quality within a wide\r\nrange of different MSG topologies. This results in a high demand for\r\ncomprehensive testing of new control concepts during their development phase\r\nand comparisons with the state of the art in order to ensure their feasibility.\r\nThis applies in particular to data-driven control approaches from the field of\r\nreinforcement learning (RL), whose stability and operating behavior can hardly\r\nbe evaluated a priori. Therefore, the OpenModelica Microgrid Gym (OMG) package,\r\nan open-source software toolbox for the simulation and control optimization of\r\nMSGs, is proposed. It is capable of modeling and simulating arbitrary MSG\r\ntopologies and offers a Python-based interface for plug \\& play controller\r\ntesting. In particular, the standardized OpenAI Gym interface allows for easy\r\nRL-based controller integration. Besides the presentation of the OMG toolbox,\r\napplication examples are highlighted including safe Bayesian optimization for\r\nlow-level controller tuning.","lang":"eng"}],"user_id":"39640","title":"Towards a Scalable and Flexible Simulation and Testing Environment Toolbox for Intelligent Microgrid Control","author":[{"last_name":"Bode","first_name":"Henrik","full_name":"Bode, Henrik"},{"first_name":"Stefan Helmut","orcid":"0000-0002-9461-7372","full_name":"Heid, Stefan Helmut","last_name":"Heid","id":"39640"},{"last_name":"Weber","full_name":"Weber, Daniel","first_name":"Daniel"},{"full_name":"Hüllermeier, Eyke","first_name":"Eyke","id":"48129","last_name":"Hüllermeier"},{"full_name":"Wallscheid, Oliver","first_name":"Oliver","last_name":"Wallscheid"}],"publication":"arXiv:2005.04869","status":"public","date_created":"2020-09-21T10:01:36Z"},{"title":"ProConAR: A Tool Support for Model-based AR Product Configuration","place":"Cham","editor":[{"last_name":"Bernhaupt","full_name":"Bernhaupt, Regina","first_name":"Regina"},{"first_name":"Carmelo","full_name":"Ardito, Carmelo","last_name":"Ardito"},{"first_name":"Stefan","full_name":"Sauer, Stefan","last_name":"Sauer"}],"project":[{"_id":"1","name":"SFB 901"},{"_id":"4","name":"SFB 901 - Project Area C"},{"_id":"17","name":"SFB 901 - Subproject C5"}],"department":[{"_id":"66"},{"_id":"534"}],"doi":"10.1007/978-3-030-64266-2_14","oa":"1","date_updated":"2022-01-06T06:54:07Z","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"series_title":"Lecture Notes in Computer Science","ddc":["000"],"user_id":"47208","abstract":[{"text":"Mobile shopping apps have been using Augmented Reality (AR) in the last years to place their products in the environment of the customer. While this is possible with atomic 3D objects, there is is still a lack in the runtime configuration of 3D object compositions based on user needs and environmental constraints. For this, we previously developed an approach for model-based AR-assisted product configuration based on the concept of Dynamic Software Product Lines. In this demonstration paper, we present the corresponding tool support ProConAR in the form of a Product Modeler and a Product Configurator. While the Product Modeler is an Angular web app that splits products (e.g. table) up into atomic parts (e.g. tabletop, table legs, funnier) and saves it within a configuration model, the Product Configurator is an Android client that uses the configuration model to place different product configurations within the environment of the customer. We show technical details of our ready to use tool-chain ProConAR by describing its implementation and usage as well as pointing out future research directions.","lang":"eng"}],"volume":12481,"date_created":"2020-09-21T17:01:11Z","has_accepted_license":"1","status":"public","file_date_updated":"2020-11-30T08:39:18Z","keyword":["Product Configuration","Augmented Reality","Model-based","Tool Support"],"publication":"Human-Centered Software Engineering. As exact solutions are in general not computable, numerical methods are used to obtain approximate\r\nsolutions. In order to draw valid conclusions from numerical computations, it is crucial\r\nto understand which qualitative aspects numerical solutions have in common with the\r\nexact solution. Symplecticity is a subtle notion that is related to a rich family of geometric properties of Hamiltonian systems. While the effects of preserving symplecticity\r\nunder discretisation on long-term behaviour of motions is classically well known, in this\r\nthesis\r\n(a) the role of symplecticity for the bifurcation behaviour of solutions to Hamiltonian\r\nboundary value problems is explained. In parameter dependent systems at a bifurcation\r\npoint the solution set to a boundary value problem changes qualitatively. Bifurcation\r\nproblems are systematically translated into the framework of classical catastrophe theory. It is proved that existing classification results in catastrophe theory apply to\r\npersistent bifurcations of Hamiltonian boundary value problems. Further results for\r\nsymmetric settings are derived.\r\n(b) It is proved that to preserve generic bifurcations under discretisation it is necessary and sufficient to preserve the symplectic structure of the problem.\r\n(c) The catastrophe theory framework for Hamiltonian ODEs is extended to PDEs\r\nwith variational structure. Recognition equations for A-series singularities for functionals on Banach spaces are derived and used in a numerical example to locate high-codimensional bifurcations.\r\n(d) The potential of symplectic integration for infinite-dimensional Lie-Poisson systems (Burgers’ equation, KdV, fluid equations, . . . ) using Clebsch variables is analysed.\r\nIt is shown that the advantages of symplectic integration can outweigh the disadvantages of integrating over a larger phase space introduced by a Clebsch representation.\r\n(e) Finally, the preservation of variational structure of symmetric solutions in multisymplectic PDEs by multisymplectic integrators on the example of (phase-rotating)\r\ntravelling waves in the nonlinear wave equation is discussed."}],"ddc":["510"],"user_id":"85279","publisher":"Massey University","author":[{"first_name":"Christian","orcid":"https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5940-8057","full_name":"Offen, Christian","last_name":"Offen","id":"85279"}],"file_date_updated":"2020-10-07T14:01:58Z","file":[{"date_created":"2020-10-06T18:54:53Z","file_name":"ths_all_signatures.pdf","access_level":"open_access","file_size":19465740,"title":"Thesis Christian Offen","file_id":"19948","creator":"coffen","date_updated":"2020-10-07T14:01:58Z","content_type":"application/pdf","description":"A thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in\nMathematics at Massey University, Manawatū, New Zealand.","relation":"main_file"}],"alternative_title":["A thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics at Massey University, Manawatū, New Zealand."],"status":"public","has_accepted_license":"1","date_created":"2020-10-06T18:56:44Z"},{"citation":{"apa":"Damke, C., Melnikov, V., & Hüllermeier, E. Predicting depth in monocular images has recently been tackled\r\nusing machine learning methods, mainly by treating the problem as a regression\r\ntask. Yet, being interested in an order relation in the first place,\r\nranking methods suggest themselves as a natural alternative to regression, and\r\nindeed, ranking approaches leveraging pairwise comparisons as training\r\ninformation (\"object A is closer to the camera than B\") have shown promising\r\nperformance on this problem. In this paper, we elaborate on the use of\r\nso-called \\emph{listwise} ranking as a generalization of the pairwise approach.\r\nListwise ranking goes beyond pairwise comparisons between objects and considers\r\nrankings of arbitrary length as training information. Our approach is based on\r\nthe Plackett-Luce model, a probability distribution on rankings, which we\r\ncombine with a state-of-the-art neural network architecture and a sampling\r\nstrategy to reduce training complexity. An empirical evaluation on benchmark\r\ndata in a \"zero-shot\" setting demonstrates the effectiveness of our proposal\r\ncompared to existing ranking and regression methods."}],"title":"Monocular Depth Estimation via Listwise Ranking using the Plackett-Luce model","user_id":"44040","author":[{"full_name":"Lienen, Julian","first_name":"Julian","id":"44040","last_name":"Lienen"},{"full_name":"Hüllermeier, Eyke","first_name":"Eyke","id":"48129","last_name":"Hüllermeier"}],"publication":"arXiv:2010.13118","status":"public","date_created":"2020-10-27T07:48:40Z","date_updated":"2022-01-06T06:54:23Z","_id":"20211","oa":"1","main_file_link":[{"open_access":"1","url":"https://arxiv.org/abs/2010.13118"}],"citation":{"chicago":"Lienen, Julian, and Eyke Hüllermeier. “Monocular Depth Estimation via Listwise Ranking Using the Plackett-Luce Model.” ArXiv:2010.13118, 2020.","ama":"Lienen J, Hüllermeier E. Herein, we study the effective nonlinear dielectric response of a stochastic paraelectric-dielectric composite consisting of equilibrium distributions of circular and partially penetrable disks (or parallel, infinitely long, identical, partially penetrable, circular cylinders) of a dielectric phase randomly dispersed in a continuous matrix of a paraelectric phase. The random microstructures were generated using the Metropolis Monte Carlo algorithm. The evaluation of the effective permittivity and tunability were carried out by employing either a Landau thermodynamic model or its Johnson’s approximation to describe the field-dependent permittivity of the paraelectric phase and solving continuum-electrostatics equations using finite element calculations. We reveal that the percolation threshold in this composite governs the critical behavior of the effective permittivity and tunability. For microstructures below the percolation threshold, our simulations demonstrate a strong nonlinear behaviour of the field-dependent effective permittivity and very high tunability that increases as a function of dielectric phase concentration. Above the percolation threshold, the effective permittivity shows the tendency to linearization and the tunability dramatically drops down. The highly reduced permittivity and extraordinarily high tunability are obtained for the composites with dielectric impenetrable disks at high concentrations, in which the triggering of the percolation transition is avoided. The reported results cast light on distinct nonlinear behaviour of 2D and 3D stochastic composites and can guide the design of novel composites with the controlled morphology and tailored permittivity and tunability.","lang":"eng"}],"volume":203,"date_created":"2020-10-30T13:51:42Z","has_accepted_license":"1","status":"public","file_date_updated":"2020-10-30T13:52:58Z","publication":"Acta Materialia","author":[{"last_name":"Myroshnychenko","id":"46371","first_name":"Viktor","full_name":"Myroshnychenko, Viktor"},{"last_name":"Smirnov","full_name":"Smirnov, Stanislav","first_name":"Stanislav"},{"last_name":"Jose","full_name":"Jose, Pious Mathews Mulavarickal","first_name":"Pious Mathews Mulavarickal"},{"first_name":"Christian","full_name":"Brosseau, Christian","last_name":"Brosseau"},{"id":"158","last_name":"Förstner","orcid":"0000-0001-7059-9862","full_name":"Förstner, Jens","first_name":"Jens"}],"file":[{"access_level":"open_access","file_name":"2020-10 Myroshnychenko - Acta Material (accepted preprint)_compressed.pdf","date_created":"2020-10-30T13:52:58Z","content_type":"application/pdf","date_updated":"2020-10-30T13:52:58Z","relation":"main_file","file_size":3934721,"creator":"fossie","file_id":"20234","title":"(Accepted Preprint)"}],"doi":"10.1016/j.actamat.2020.10.051","oa":"1","date_updated":"2022-01-06T06:54:24Z","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"title":"Nonlinear dielectric properties of random paraelectric-dielectric composites","publication_status":"published","publication_identifier":{"issn":["1359-6454"]},"project":[{"name":"Computing Resources Provided by the Paderborn Center for Parallel Computing","_id":"52"}],"department":[{"_id":"61"},{"_id":"230"}]},{"author":[{"first_name":"Martina","full_name":"Homt, Martina","last_name":"Homt","id":"11674"}],"date_created":"2021-12-08T08:29:46Z","status":"public","title":"Die Anbahnung einer forschenden Grundhaltung im Praxissemester – eine empirische Analyse von Bedingungen und Entwicklungsverläufen","user_id":"11674","main_file_link":[{"open_access":"1","url":"https://repositorium.uni-muenster.de/document/miami/32f6ce93-fe65-4c72-a2a6-165dbddc01a4/diss_homt.pdf"}],"type":"dissertation","year":"2020","citation":{"bibtex":"@book{Homt_2020, title={Die Anbahnung einer forschenden Grundhaltung im Praxissemester – eine empirische Analyse von Bedingungen und Entwicklungsverläufen}, author={Homt, Martina}, year={2020} }","mla":"Homt, Martina. Most studies assume that agents have an accurate perception regarding their tax burden. However, there is a growing body of literature analyzing whether taxes are indeed perceived correctly. We review 127 studies on the measurement of tax misperception and its behavioral implications. The review reveals that many taxpayers have substantial tax misperceptions that lead to biased decision making. We develop a Behavioral Taxpayer Response Model on the impact of provided tax information on tax perception. Besides individual traits, characteristics of the tax information and the decision environment determine the extent of tax misperception. We discuss opportunities for future research and methodological limitations. While there is much evidence on tax misperception at the individual level, we hardly find any research at the firm level. Little is known about the real effects of managers’ tax misperception and on how tax information is strategically managed to impact stakeholders. This research gap is surprising as a large part of the accounting literature analyzes decision making and disclosure of firms. We recommend a mixed-method approach combining experiments, surveys, and archival data analyses to improve the knowledge on tax misperception and its consequences.","lang":"eng"}],"title":"Tax Misperception and Its Effects on Decision Making - a Literature Review","user_id":"21222","author":[{"first_name":"Kay","full_name":"Blaufus, Kay","last_name":"Blaufus"},{"full_name":"Chirvi, Malte","first_name":"Malte","last_name":"Chirvi"},{"last_name":"Huber","first_name":"Hans-Peter","full_name":"Huber, Hans-Peter"},{"last_name":"Maiterth","full_name":"Maiterth, Ralf","first_name":"Ralf"},{"id":"530","last_name":"Sureth-Sloane","full_name":"Sureth-Sloane, Caren","first_name":"Caren"}],"department":[{"_id":"187"}],"volume":"No. 39","status":"public","date_created":"2021-03-09T08:12:49Z","date_updated":"2022-01-06T06:54:59Z","_id":"21406","oa":"1","series_title":"TRR 266 Accounting for Transparency Working Paper Series","main_file_link":[{"url":"https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=3697982","open_access":"1"}],"citation":{"ieee":"K.
