The second case study analyses how the security stream within the EU’s framework programmes for R&D is shaped by the promise of ‘technosecurity’ and enacts the normative claim of the EU’s security integration in the post-Cold War era. A systematic approach is required for proactive change management to assess and reduce the risk of a requirement change with appropriate effort in industrial application. Within the contribution at hand, a novel approach for Proactive Management of Requirement Changes (ProMaRC) is presented. It is developed in close collaboration with industry experts and validated based on five case studies. Automated dependency analysis based on artificial intelligence reduces the application effort compared to existing approaches. Semi-automated assessment and management of change likelihood and impact is performed using a modified PageRank algorithm. For the first time it includes all relevant influencing factors for risk analysis. The validation proofs that the ProMaRC approach achieves a convincing combination of practical application effort and completeness of analysis. This contribution opens up the research field of proactive change management for requirement changes which is currently almost unexploited and enables more efficient product development."}],"file":[{"access_level":"closed","file_size":17705979,"file_name":"978-3-947647-25-5.pdf","date_updated":"2022-12-02T10:58:31Z","relation":"main_file","content_type":"application/pdf","success":1,"file_id":"34175","creator":"oleffch","date_created":"2022-12-02T10:58:31Z"}],"date_created":"2022-12-02T10:55:19Z","type":"dissertation","department":[{"_id":"152"},{"_id":"26"}],"title":"Proaktives Management von Anforderungsänderungen in der Entwicklung komplexer technischer Systeme","year":"2022","publication_identifier":{"unknown":["978-3-947647-25-5"]},"author":[{"full_name":"Oleff, Christian","orcid":"0000-0002-0983-1850","last_name":"Oleff","first_name":"Christian","id":"41188"}],"date_updated":"2024-07-12T12:06:41Z","publication_status":"published","intvolume":" 406","main_file_link":[{"open_access":"1"}],"series_title":"Verlagsschriftenreihe des Heinz Nixdorf Instituts","language":[{"iso":"ger"}],"doi":"10.17619/UNIPB/1-1600","file_date_updated":"2022-12-02T10:58:31Z","supervisor":[{"id":"47565","last_name":"Gräßler","first_name":"Iris","orcid":"0000-0001-5765-971X","full_name":"Gräßler, Iris"}],"citation":{"mla":"Oleff, Christian. Proaktives Management von Anforderungsänderungen in der Entwicklung komplexer technischer Systeme. These applications require state-of-the-art engineering to reach optimized functionalities such as high directivity and radiation efficiency, low sidelobe levels, broadband and tunable capabilities, and compact design. In this work, we report on the numerical optimization of the directivity of optical traveling wave antennas made from low-loss dielectric materials using full-wave numerical simulations in conjunction with the particle swarm optimization algorithm. The antennas are composed of a reflector and a director deposited on a glass substrate, and an emitter placed in the feed gap between them serves as an internal source of excitation. In particular, we analyze antennas with rectangular- and horn-shaped directors made of either hafnium dioxide or silicon. The optimized antennas produce highly directional emissions due to the presence of two dominant guided TE modes in the director in addition to leaky modes. These guided modes dominate the far-field emission pattern and govern the direction of the main lobe emission, which predominately originates from the end facet of the director. Our work also provides a comprehensive analysis of the modes, radiation patterns, parametric influences, and bandwidths of the antennas, which highlights their robust nature."}],"file":[{"creator":"fossie","embargo":"2022-12-08","relation":"main_file","date_updated":"2021-12-08T08:26:57Z","file_size":14029741,"file_id":"28417","content_type":"application/pdf","embargo_to":"open_access","date_created":"2021-12-08T08:26:57Z","file_name":"2021-12 Farheen - JOSA B - Optimization of optical nanoantennas.pdf","access_level":"local"},{"date_created":"2021-12-08T08:29:49Z","creator":"fossie","file_id":"28418","content_type":"application/pdf","relation":"supplementary_material","date_updated":"2021-12-08T08:29:49Z","file_name":"2021-12 Farheen - JOSA B - Optimization of optical nanoantennas SUPPLEMENTARY MATERIAL.pdf","file_size":655495,"access_level":"open_access"}],"date_created":"2021-12-08T07:14:39Z","type":"journal_article","keyword":["tet_topic_opticalantenna"],"department":[{"_id":"61"},{"_id":"230"},{"_id":"429"}],"year":"2022","title":"Optimization of optical waveguide antennas for directive emission of light","author":[{"full_name":"Farheen, Henna","first_name":"Henna","orcid":"0000-0001-7730-3489","last_name":"Farheen","id":"53444"},{"last_name":"Leuteritz","first_name":"Till","full_name":"Leuteritz, Till"},{"full_name":"Linden, Stefan","first_name":"Stefan","last_name":"Linden"},{"id":"46371","first_name":"Viktor","last_name":"Myroshnychenko","full_name":"Myroshnychenko, Viktor"},{"id":"158","first_name":"Jens","orcid":"0000-0001-7059-9862","last_name":"Förstner","full_name":"Förstner, Jens"}],"publication_identifier":{"issn":["0740-3224","1520-8540"]},"publication_status":"published","date_updated":"2024-07-22T07:45:12Z","intvolume":" 39","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"doi":"10.1364/josab.438514"},{"file":[{"date_created":"2024-08-14T08:53:31Z","creator":"hariz","file_id":"55606","content_type":"application/pdf","file_name":"PhDThesis.pdf","file_size":4492215,"access_level":"open_access","relation":"main_file","date_updated":"2024-08-14T08:53:31Z"}],"date_created":"2024-08-14T08:53:38Z","type":"dissertation","oa":"1","file_date_updated":"2024-08-14T08:53:31Z","citation":{"ama":"Hariz Belgacem K. High-Order Embedding Formalism, Noether’s Theorem on Time Scales and Eringen’s Nonlocal Elastica.; 2022.","bibtex":"@book{Hariz Belgacem_2022, title={High-order embedding formalism, Noether’s theorem on time scales and Eringen’s nonlocal elastica}, author={Hariz Belgacem, Khaled}, year={2022} }","mla":"Hariz Belgacem, Khaled. High-Order Embedding Formalism, Noether’s Theorem on Time Scales and Eringen’s Nonlocal Elastica. 2022.","chicago":"Hariz Belgacem, Khaled. High-Order Embedding Formalism, Noether’s Theorem on Time Scales and Eringen’s Nonlocal Elastica, 2022.","short":"K. Choices made by arrangers adapting music for domestic consumption – of instrumentation, abbreviation, or simplification – reflect the musical life of the 19th century, and can inform our understanding alongside contemporary accounts such as newspapers, adverts, and diaries. This position paper gives the background, motivation, and proposed approach of research currently being undertaken within the Beethoven in the House project. This will include a study of Steiner editions of Beethoven’s 7th and 8th Symphonies and Wellingtons Sieg, making a detailed comparison between arrangements, systematically identifying a core common to multiple versions, and asking if this reflects the stated values of the publisher. A second survey will look for patterns across a larger sample of lesser-known and poorly catalogued scores, collating emergent indicators of arrangers’ motivations within a narrative of the domestic market – the music industry of its day. Both studies will innovate digital methods which characterise arrangements as music encodings, including ‘sparse’ approaches to notation and annotation.","lang":"eng"}],"publication":"Music Encoding Conference Proceedings 2021","department":[{"_id":"874"}],"type":"conference","keyword":["BitH","mec-proceedings","mec-proceedings-2021"],"date_created":"2024-08-28T11:42:27Z","status":"public","editor":[{"last_name":"Münnich","first_name":"Stefan","full_name":"Münnich, Stefan"},{"full_name":"Rizo, David","last_name":"Rizo","first_name":"David"}],"user_id":"1684","_id":"55834","publisher":"Humanities Commons","page":"117–123","citation":{"mla":"Page, Kevin R., et al. “Beethoven in the House: Digital Studies of Domestic Music Arrangements.” Music Encoding Conference Proceedings 2021, edited by Stefan Münnich and David Rizo, Humanities Commons, 2022, pp. 117–123, doi:10.17613/389b-xx73.","ama":"Page KR, Kepper J, Siegert C, Hankinson A, Lewis D. One way to enable such 3D scan trajectories is to use a 6-degrees-of-freedom (DOF) object manipulator system. In our case, a hexapod is mounted on top of the rotary table of a commercial CT scanner. This allows for adaptive tilting of the measurement object during the scan. For high accuracy, the geometry calibration of such setups is typically done using the x-ray projections of a calibrated multi-sphere object. Contrary to this, here, we demonstrate a procedure that is based on only a single sphere and can therefore experimentally be implemented with low effort. Using the intrinsic geometry parameters of the CT device as prior information, the hexapod coordinate system with respect to the CT machine coordinate system is determined by means of a one-step optimization approach. The resulting parameters are used to calculate projection matrices that enable the volume reconstruction for 3D scan trajectories. The method is validated using simulated x-ray images and experimental investigations including dimensional measurements. For the used setup, geometric measurement results for 3D scan trajectories that are calibrated with the presented method show in sum increased errors compared to the circular scans. A limited pose accuracy of the manipulator system is discussed as a potential cause. The results nevertheless indicate that the presented method is generally feasible for dimensional CT measurements provided that the pose accuracy is sufficient. The calibration procedure can therefore be a low-cost and easier to implement alternative compared to trajectory calibration methods based on multi-sphere objects, but with a tendency towards lower measurement accuracy. The methodology can in principle be transferred to different setups with 6-DOF manipulator systems, e.g. C-arm CT devices with a robot arm.","lang":"eng"}],"date_created":"2022-12-07T10:46:14Z","department":[{"_id":"630"}],"keyword":["Applied Mathematics","Instrumentation","Engineering (miscellaneous)"],"type":"journal_article","author":[{"full_name":"Butzhammer, Lorenz","first_name":"Lorenz","last_name":"Butzhammer"},{"first_name":"Andreas Michael","last_name":"Müller","full_name":"Müller, Andreas Michael"},{"full_name":"Hausotte, Tino","last_name":"Hausotte","first_name":"Tino"}],"publication_identifier":{"issn":["0957-0233","1361-6501"]},"title":"Calibration of 3D scan trajectories for an industrial computed tomography setup with 6-DOF object manipulator system using a single sphere","year":"2022","intvolume":" 34","date_updated":"2023-01-13T14:34:31Z","publication_status":"published","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"main_file_link":[{"url":"https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1361-6501/ac9856","open_access":"1"}],"article_number":"015403","doi":"10.1088/1361-6501/ac9856","citation":{"ieee":"L. Julia leverages a unified and coordinated single-language and ecosystem paradigm and has a proven track record of achieving high performance without sacrificing user productivity. These aspects make Julia a viable alternative to high-performance computing's (HPC's) existing and increasingly costly many-body workflow composition strategy in which traditional HPC languages (e.g., Fortran, C, C++) are used for simulations, and higher-level languages (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB) are used for data analysis and interactive computing. Julia's rapid growth in language capabilities, package ecosystem, and community make it a promising universal language for HPC. This paper presents the views of a multidisciplinary group of researchers from academia, government, and industry that advocate for an HPC software development paradigm that emphasizes developer productivity, workflow portability, and low barriers for entry. We believe that the Julia programming language, its ecosystem, and its community provide modern and powerful capabilities that enable this group's objectives. Crucially, we believe that Julia can provide a feasible and less costly approach to programming scientific applications and workflows that target HPC facilities. In this work, we examine the current practice and role of Julia as a common, end-to-end programming model to address major challenges in scientific reproducibility, data-driven AI/machine learning, co-design and workflows, scalability and performance portability in heterogeneous computing, network communication, data management, and community education. As a result, the diversification of current investments to fulfill the needs of the upcoming decade is crucial as more supercomputing centers prepare for the exascale era.","lang":"eng"}],"date_created":"2023-01-16T09:10:48Z","oa":"1","department":[{"_id":"27"}],"type":"preprint","author":[{"full_name":"Churavy, Valentin","first_name":"Valentin","last_name":"Churavy"},{"first_name":"William F","last_name":"Godoy","full_name":"Godoy, William F"},{"full_name":"Bauer, Carsten","last_name":"Bauer","first_name":"Carsten","id":"90082"},{"last_name":"Ranocha","first_name":"Hendrik","full_name":"Ranocha, Hendrik"},{"first_name":"Michael","last_name":"Schlottke-Lakemper","full_name":"Schlottke-Lakemper, Michael"},{"full_name":"Räss, Ludovic","last_name":"Räss","first_name":"Ludovic"},{"full_name":"Blaschke, Johannes","last_name":"Blaschke","first_name":"Johannes"},{"last_name":"Giordano","first_name":"Mosè","full_name":"Giordano, Mosè"},{"full_name":"Schnetter, Erik","last_name":"Schnetter","first_name":"Erik"},{"first_name":"Samuel","last_name":"Omlin","full_name":"Omlin, Samuel"},{"last_name":"Vetter","first_name":"Jeffrey S","full_name":"Vetter, Jeffrey S"},{"last_name":"Edelman","first_name":"Alan","full_name":"Edelman, Alan"}],"year":"2022","status":"public","title":"Bridging HPC Communities through the Julia Programming Language","date_updated":"2023-01-16T09:16:20Z","_id":"36879","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"main_file_link":[{"open_access":"1","url":"https://arxiv.org/abs/2211.02740"}],"user_id":"90082"},{"user_id":"3959","publisher":"Springer Science and Business Media LLC","_id":"31035","status":"public","oa":"1","quality_controlled":"1","citation":{"mla":"Neukötter, Moritz, et al. “Model Droplet Formation in Extensional Filament Stretching within a Filament Extension Atomizer.” Rheologica Acta, Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2022, doi:10.1007/s00397-022-01339-y.","ama":"Neukötter M, Jesinghausen S, Schmid H-J.
