This approach is based on the reduced density-matrix functional theory (RDMFT) formulation of the electronic structure problem. For that purpose, the density-matrix functional of the full system is decomposed into an indirectly coupled sum of density-matrix functionals for all its subsystems using the adaptive cluster approximation to RDMFT. The approximations involved in the decomposition and the adaptive cluster approximation itself can be systematically converged to the exact result. The solutions for the density-matrix functionals of the effective subsystems involves a constrained minimization over many-particle states that are approximated by parametrized trial states on the quantum computer similarly to the variational quantum eigensolver. The independence of the density-matrix functionals of the effective subsystems introduces a new level of parallelization and allows for the computational treatment of much larger molecules on a quantum computer with a given qubit count. In addition, for the proposed algorithm techniques are presented to reduce the qubit count, the number of quantum programs, as well as its depth. The evaluation of a density-matrix functional as the essential part of our approach is demonstrated for Hubbard-like systems on IBM quantum computers based on superconducting transmon qubits.","lang":"eng"}],"date_created":"2022-08-29T14:07:01Z","type":"journal_article","department":[{"_id":"27"},{"_id":"518"}],"year":"2022","title":"Parallel quantum chemistry on noisy intermediate-scale quantum computers","author":[{"orcid":"0000-0002-6268-539","first_name":"Robert","last_name":"Schade","full_name":"Schade, Robert","id":"75963"},{"first_name":"Carsten","last_name":"Bauer","full_name":"Bauer, Carsten","id":"90082"},{"last_name":"Tamoev","first_name":"Konstantin","full_name":"Tamoev, Konstantin","id":"50177"},{"full_name":"Mazur, Lukas","last_name":"Mazur","first_name":"Lukas","orcid":" 0000-0001-6304-7082","id":"90492"},{"last_name":"Plessl","first_name":"Christian","orcid":"0000-0001-5728-9982","full_name":"Plessl, Christian","id":"16153"},{"id":"49079","last_name":"Kühne","first_name":"Thomas","full_name":"Kühne, Thomas"}],"date_updated":"2023-08-02T15:04:22Z","publication_status":"published","intvolume":" 4","article_type":"original","main_file_link":[{"open_access":"1","url":"https://journals.aps.org/prresearch/abstract/10.1103/PhysRevResearch.4.033160"}],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"doi":"10.1103/PhysRevResearch.4.033160"},{"date_created":"2022-10-11T08:17:02Z","department":[{"_id":"613"},{"_id":"27"},{"_id":"518"}],"type":"journal_article","keyword":["Artificial Intelligence","Computer Graphics and Computer-Aided Design","Computer Networks and Communications","Hardware and Architecture","Theoretical Computer Science","Software"],"publication":"Parallel Computing","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"article_number":"102920","main_file_link":[{"url":"https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0167819122000242","open_access":"1"}],"doi":"10.1016/j.parco.2022.102920","publication_identifier":{"issn":["0167-8191"]},"author":[{"id":"75963","full_name":"Schade, Robert","last_name":"Schade","orcid":"0000-0002-6268-539","first_name":"Robert"},{"id":"3145","last_name":"Kenter","first_name":"Tobias","full_name":"Kenter, Tobias"},{"first_name":"Hossam","last_name":"Elgabarty","orcid":"0000-0002-4945-1481","full_name":"Elgabarty, Hossam","id":"60250"},{"last_name":"Lass","first_name":"Michael","orcid":"0000-0002-5708-7632","full_name":"Lass, Michael","id":"24135"},{"full_name":"Schütt, Ole","first_name":"Ole","last_name":"Schütt"},{"last_name":"Lazzaro","first_name":"Alfio","full_name":"Lazzaro, Alfio"},{"first_name":"Hans","last_name":"Pabst","full_name":"Pabst, Hans"},{"last_name":"Mohr","first_name":"Stephan","full_name":"Mohr, Stephan"},{"first_name":"Jürg","last_name":"Hutter","full_name":"Hutter, Jürg"},{"full_name":"Kühne, Thomas","last_name":"Kühne","first_name":"Thomas","id":"49079"},{"first_name":"Christian","orcid":"0000-0001-5728-9982","last_name":"Plessl","full_name":"Plessl, Christian","id":"16153"}],"year":"2022","title":"Towards electronic structure-based ab-initio molecular dynamics simulations with hundreds of millions of atoms","intvolume":" 111","publication_status":"published","date_updated":"2023-08-02T15:03:55Z","oa":"1","citation":{"mla":"Schade, Robert, et al. “Towards Electronic Structure-Based Ab-Initio Molecular Dynamics Simulations with Hundreds of Millions of Atoms.” Parallel Computing, vol. 111, 102920, Elsevier BV, 2022, doi:10.1016/j.parco.2022.102920.","bibtex":"@article{Schade_Kenter_Elgabarty_Lass_Schütt_Lazzaro_Pabst_Mohr_Hutter_Kühne_et al._2022, title={Towards electronic structure-based ab-initio molecular dynamics simulations with hundreds of millions of atoms}, volume={111}, DOI={10.1016/j.parco.2022.102920}, number={102920}, journal={Parallel Computing}, publisher={Elsevier BV}, author={Schade, Robert and Kenter, Tobias and Elgabarty, Hossam and Lass, Michael and Schütt, Ole and Lazzaro, Alfio and Pabst, Hans and Mohr, Stephan and Hutter, Jürg and Kühne, Thomas and et al.}, year={2022} }","ama":"Schade R, Kenter T, Elgabarty H, et al. They exhibit many structural properties, such as a lack of attractors and the presence of conservation laws. To predict Hamiltonian dynamics based on discrete trajectory observations, incorporation of prior knowledge about Hamiltonian structure greatly improves predictions. This is typically done by learning the system's Hamiltonian and then integrating the Hamiltonian vector field with a symplectic integrator. For this, however, Hamiltonian data needs to be approximated based on the trajectory observations. Moreover, the numerical integrator introduces an additional discretisation error. In this paper, we show that an inverse modified Hamiltonian structure adapted to the geometric integrator can be learned directly from observations. A separate approximation step for the Hamiltonian data avoided. The inverse modified data compensates for the discretisation error such that the discretisation error is eliminated. The technique is developed for Gaussian Processes.","lang":"eng"}],"file":[{"relation":"main_file","date_updated":"2021-12-13T14:56:15Z","file_name":"SymplecticShadowIntegration_AIP.pdf","access_level":"open_access","file_size":2285059,"file_id":"28734","content_type":"application/pdf","creator":"coffen","date_created":"2021-12-13T14:56:15Z"}],"date_created":"2021-08-11T08:24:02Z","type":"journal_article","department":[{"_id":"636"}],"title":"Symplectic integration of learned Hamiltonian systems","year":"2022","author":[{"id":"85279","orcid":"0000-0002-5940-8057","first_name":"Christian","last_name":"Offen","full_name":"Offen, Christian"},{"id":"16494","full_name":"Ober-Blöbaum, Sina","first_name":"Sina","last_name":"Ober-Blöbaum"}],"publication_status":"published","date_updated":"2023-08-10T08:48:14Z","article_type":"original","main_file_link":[{"url":"https://aip.scitation.org/doi/abs/10.1063/5.0065913","open_access":"1"}],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"doi":"10.1063/5.0065913"},{"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"_id":"47149","main_file_link":[{"url":"https://digital.ub.uni-paderborn.de/urn/urn:nbn:de:hbz:466:2-40332","open_access":"1"}],"user_id":"28542","author":[{"id":"28542","last_name":"Meier","first_name":"Jana","orcid":"https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6756-9440","full_name":"Meier, Jana"}],"status":"public","title":"„LauRa - In der Lehramtsausbildung Reflexionskompetenz analysieren“ : Untersuchungen zum Verhältnis von Theorie, Praxis und Reflexion im Rahmen der Professionalisierung angehender Lehrpersonen ","year":"2022","date_updated":"2023-09-21T08:15:09Z","date_created":"2023-09-21T08:15:04Z","department":[{"_id":"4"}],"oa":"1","type":"dissertation","citation":{"ama":"Meier J. „LauRa - In Der Lehramtsausbildung Reflexionskompetenz Analysieren“ : Untersuchungen Zum Verhältnis von Theorie, Praxis Und Reflexion Im Rahmen Der Professionalisierung Angehender Lehrpersonen .; 2022.","bibtex":"@book{Meier_2022, title={„LauRa - In der Lehramtsausbildung Reflexionskompetenz analysieren“ : Untersuchungen zum Verhältnis von Theorie, Praxis und Reflexion im Rahmen der Professionalisierung angehender Lehrpersonen }, author={Meier, Jana}, year={2022} }","mla":"Meier, Jana. „LauRa - In Der Lehramtsausbildung Reflexionskompetenz Analysieren“ : Untersuchungen Zum Verhältnis von Theorie, Praxis Und Reflexion Im Rahmen Der Professionalisierung Angehender Lehrpersonen . 2022.","short":"J. Due to simplifications and the model-reality-gap physics-derived models frequently exhibit deviations from real-world-systems. Likewise, purely data-driven methods often do not generalise well enough and may violate physical laws. Recently Physics-Guided Neural Networks (PGNN) and physics-inspired loss functions separately have shown promising results to conquer these drawbacks. In this contribution we extend existing methods towards the identification of non-autonomous systems and propose a combined approach PGNN-L, which uses a PGNN and a physics-inspired loss term (-L) to successfully identify the system's dynamics, while maintaining the consistency with physical laws. The proposed method is demonstrated on two real-world nonlinear systems and outperforms existing techniques regarding complexity and reliability."}],"publication":"2022 3rd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Control (AIRC)"},{"author":[{"last_name":"Tönsing","first_name":"Johanna","full_name":"Tönsing, Johanna","id":"52678"}],"title":"(K)eine kinderleichte Gattung: Konsequenzen einer kulturwissenschaftlich informierten Märchendidaktik","status":"public","year":"2022","publication_status":"inpress","date_updated":"2025-01-14T12:31:47Z","language":[{"iso":"ger"}],"_id":"32417","main_file_link":[{"url":"https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.57088/978-3-7329-9143-3_6","open_access":"1"}],"editor":[{"full_name":"Bernhardt, Sebastian","last_name":"Bernhardt","first_name":"Sebastian"},{"full_name":"Hardtke, Thomas","first_name":"Thomas","last_name":"Hardtke"}],"user_id":"52678","citation":{"ama":"Tönsing J. Frühe mathematische Kompetenzen entwickeln sich u.a. in der Auseinandersetzung mit Fragestellungen, die sich im Alltag ergeben.
"}]},{"status":"public","_id":"59617","publisher":"MDPI AG","user_id":"62844","volume":8,"citation":{"chicago":"Völlmecke, Katharina, Rowshon Afroz, Sascha Bierbach, Lee Josephine Brenker, Sebastian Frücht, Alexandra Glass, Ryland Giebelhaus, et al. “Hydrogel-Based Biosensors.” Gels 8, no. 12 (2022). https://doi.org/10.3390/gels8120768.","short":"K. Hydrogel sensors are easy to fabricate, are incredibly sensitive, and have broad dynamic ranges. Experiments on their robustness, reliability, and reusability have indicated the possible long-term applications of these systems in a variety of fields, including disease diagnosis, detection of pharmaceuticals, and in environmental testing. It is possible to produce hydrogels, which, upon sensing a specific analyte, can adsorb it onto their 3D-structure and can therefore be used to remove them from a given environment. High specificity can be obtained by using molecularly imprinted polymers. Typical detection principles involve optical methods including fluorescence and chemiluminescence, and volume changes in colloidal photonic crystals, as well as electrochemical methods. An important class of metasurface functionalities is associated with asymmetry in both the generation and transmission of light with respect to reversals of the positions of emitters and receivers. The nonlinear light–matter interaction in metasurfaces offers a promising pathway towards miniaturization of the asymmetric control of light. Here we demonstrate asymmetric parametric generation of light in nonlinear metasurfaces. We assemble dissimilar nonlinear dielectric resonators into translucent metasurfaces that produce images in the visible spectral range on being illuminated by infrared radiation. By design, the metasurfaces produce different and completely independent images for the reversed direction of illumination, that is, when the positions of the infrared emitter and the visible light receiver are exchanged. Nonlinearity-enabled asymmetric control of light by subwavelength resonators paves the way towards novel nanophotonic components via dense integration of large quantities of nonlinear resonators into compact metasurface designs.","lang":"eng"}],"publication":"Nature Photonics","keyword":["Atomic and Molecular Physics","and Optics","Electronic","Optical and Magnetic Materials"],"type":"journal_article","department":[{"_id":"15"},{"_id":"230"},{"_id":"289"},{"_id":"623"}],"date_created":"2022-06-21T05:52:43Z"},{"citation":{"short":"L. The reflector stacks are fabricated in a layer-by-layer procedure by wet-chemical synthesis. They consist of low-ε porous SiO2 layers and high-ε TiO2 layers. Varying the thickness of the SiO2 layers allows tuning the optical bandgap in a wide range between ≈420 and 800 nm. A ZnO layer is deposited on top of the reflector stacks by sol–gel synthesis. The spontaneous photoluminescence (PL) emission of the ZnO film is modulated by the photonic structure. When the optical bandgap of the reflector is in resonance with the deep-level emission of ZnO (DLE, ≈500–530 nm), then this defect-related emission mode is suppressed. Strong NBE emission is observed even when the ZnO layer does not show any NBE emission (due to low crystallinity) in the absence of the photonic structure. With this cost-efficient synthesis method, emitters for, e.g., luminescent gas sensors can be fabricated.","lang":"eng"}],"date_created":"2022-02-08T15:24:58Z","type":"journal_article","keyword":["Mechanical Engineering","Mechanics of Materials"],"department":[{"_id":"15"},{"_id":"35"},{"_id":"2"},{"_id":"307"},{"_id":"230"}],"title":"Stimulation and Enhancement of Near‐Band‐Edge Emission in Zinc Oxide by Distributed Bragg Reflectors","year":"2022","author":[{"last_name":"Kothe","first_name":"Linda","full_name":"Kothe, Linda"},{"full_name":"Albert, Maximilian","last_name":"Albert","first_name":"Maximilian"},{"orcid":"https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3787-3572","first_name":"Cedrik","last_name":"Meier","full_name":"Meier, Cedrik","id":"20798"},{"first_name":"Thorsten","last_name":"Wagner","full_name":"Wagner, Thorsten"},{"full_name":"Tiemann, Michael","last_name":"Tiemann","first_name":"Michael","orcid":"0000-0003-1711-2722","id":"23547"}],"publication_identifier":{"issn":["2196-7350","2196-7350"]},"date_updated":"2025-05-27T07:42:58Z","publication_status":"published","intvolume":" 9","article_type":"original","main_file_link":[{"open_access":"1","url":"https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1002/admi.202102357"}],"article_number":"2102357","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"doi":"10.1002/admi.202102357"}]
