Sustainability-aware explanations represent one avenue for contributing to this goal by foregrounding the environmental and social aspects of the recommended products or services. This paper advances the line of research on sustainability-aware explanations by integrating nudging mechanisms into their design and by evaluating their effectiveness through a randomized between-subjects online vignette experiment across two item domains (). Both firms and governments have expressed growing concern about increasing tax uncertainty, due to frequent tax reforms and the difficulty in applying ambiguous tax laws and anticipating audit outcomes. One remedy is the provision of ATRs, which offer upfront clarification of tax issues to reduce tax uncertainty and increase risk-taking. We analyze how these uncertainties, along with different tax rates, loss offset provisions, and ATR fees affect investment strategies. Our results suggest, first, that ATRs encourage riskier investments, particularly in tax regimes with generous loss offsets. We identify optimal ranges of ATR fees that benefit firms and tax authorities. Second, we show that it may be beneficial to design ATRs with a low or negative fee. Third, our study reveals a U-shaped relationship between firms' risk aversion and their willingness to pay for tax certainty, with willingness being higher for firms at low or high levels of risk aversion. In contrast, moderately risk-averse firms are only willing to accept low fees. The robots' simplicity imply a\r\nstrong limitation: When the initial configuration is rotationally symmetric,\r\nonly patterns with a similar symmetry can be formed [Yamashita, Suzyuki; TCS\r\n2010]. The only known algorithm to form large patterns with limited visibility\r\nand without memory requires the robots to start in a near-gathering (a swarm of\r\nconstant diameter) [Hahn et al.; SAND 2024]. However, not only do we not know\r\nany near-gathering algorithm guaranteed to preserve symmetry but most natural\r\ngathering strategies trivially increase symmetries [Castenow et al.; OPODIS\r\n2022].\r\n  Thus, we study near-gathering without changing the swarm's rotational\r\nsymmetry for disoriented, oblivious robots with limited visibility (the\r\nOBLOT-model, see [Flocchini et al.; 2019]). We introduce a technique based on\r\nthe theory of dynamical systems to analyze how a given algorithm affects\r\nsymmetry and provide sufficient conditions for symmetry preservation. Until\r\nnow, it was unknown whether the considered OBLOT-model allows for any\r\nnon-trivial algorithm that always preserves symmetry. Our first result shows\r\nthat a variant of Go-to-the-Average always preserves symmetry but may sometimes\r\nlead to multiple, unconnected near-gathering clusters. This classification is based on the factorizability of homogeneous multivariate polynomials and is invariant under unitary transformations. The classes physically correspond to field excitations in terms of single and multiple photons, each of which being in an arbitrary irreducible superposition of quantized modes. We further show how the transitions between classes are rendered possible by photon addition, photon subtraction, and photon-projection nonlinearities. We explicitly put forward a design for a multilayer interferometer in which the states for different classes can be generated with state-of-the-art experimental techniques. Limitations of the proposed designs are analyzed using the introduced classification, providing a benchmark for the robustness of certain states and classes. Engineers in strategic product planning need to proactively predict the quantity, quality, and timing of secondary materials and returned components. For example, products with high recycled content will only be economically sustainable if the material is actually available in the future product life. Our assumption is that Information Circularity Assistance enables decision makers to incorporate insights from extreme data – high-volume, high-velocity, heterogeneous and distributed data from the product life – into product creation through intelligent Digital Twins. Artificial Intelligence can help to derive sustainable actions in favor of circular products by processing extreme data and enriching it with expert knowledge. The research contributes in three key dimensions. First, a comprehensive literature review is conducted. This review covers concepts of intelligence in Scenario-Technique for strategic product planning, Digital Twin-based analysis of extreme data and relevant technologies from Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. In all areas, the state of the art and emerging trends are identified. Secondly, the study identifies information needs along the steps of the Scenario-Technique and information offerings based on Digital Twins. The concept of Information Circularity Assistance results from the coupling of these demands and offerings, extending the Scenario-Technique beyond traditional expert-based methods. Third, we extend existing Digital Twin methods used in circularity and discuss the deployment of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence algorithms within the product creation process. Our approach uses extreme data to provide a strategic advantage in optimizing product life cycle planning, which is illustrated by two sample applications. A recent and popular model is the Refined Consensus Model (RCM), which proposes a framework of dispositional competencies (personal PCK—pPCK) that influence more action-related competencies (enacted PCK—ePCK) and vice versa. However, descriptions of the internal structure of pPCK and possible knowledge domains that might develop independently are still limited, being either primarily theoretically motivated or strictly hierarchical and therefore of limited use, for example, for formative feedback and further development of the RCM. Meanwhile, a non-hierarchical differentiation for the ePCK regarding the plan-teach-reflect cycle has emerged. In this study, we present an exploratory computational approach to investigate pre-service teachers' pPCK for a similar non-hierarchical structure using a large dataset of responses to a pPCK questionnaire (N=846). We drew on theoretical foundations and previous empirical findings to achieve interpretability by integrating this external knowledge into our analyses using the Computational Grounded Theory (CGT) framework. The results of a cluster analysis of the pPCK scores indicate the emergence of prototypical groups, which we refer to as competency profiles: (1) a group with low performance, (2) a group with relatively advanced competency in using pPCK to create instructional elements, (3) a group with relatively advanced competency in using pPCK to assess and analyze described instructional elements, and (4) a group with high performance. These groups show tendencies for certain language usage, which we analyze using a structural topic model in a CGT-inspired pattern refinement step. We verify these patterns by demonstrating the ability of a machine learning model to predict the competency profile assignments. Das hat unterschiedliche Gründe, unter anderem die nicht vorhandene curriculare Verankerung. Dabei belegen diverse Untersuchungen, dass solche Aufenthalte den interkulturellen Kompetenzerwerb und damit Fähigkeiten fördern, die unabhängig vom Fach in einer globalisierten Welt immer größere Relevanz im Berufsleben einnehmen. Im Projekt wurde ein hybrides internationales Kooperationsseminar entwickelt und durchgeführt sowie in Bezug auf den Erwerb dieser wichtigen Schlüsselqualifikation evaluiert. Die Auswertung der unter anderem durch Fragebögen erhobenen Entwicklung konnte deutlich die positiven Auswirkungen eines hybriden Kooperationsseminars auf interkulturelle Kompetenzen, die Auseinandersetzung mit verschiedensten Aspekten einer anderen Kultur, darunter Geschichte, Politik, (Post-)Kolonialismus und den eigenen Privilegien aufzeigen. Zudem lassen sich aus der Evaluation weitere Ideen für rein digitale Formate ableiten. "},{"lang":"eng","text":"Stays abroad by musicology students at the Paderborn University are the exception rather than the\r\nrule. There are various reasons for this, including the fact that they are not part of the curriculum.\r\nHowever, various studies have shown that such stays support the acquisition of intercultural skills\r\nwhich are becoming increasingly relevant in professional life in a globalised world, regardless of the\r\nsubject. The project developed, implemented, and evaluated a hybrid international cooperation semi-\r\nnar regarding the acquisition of this important key qualification. The evaluation of the course of the\r\nseminar, based among other things on questionnaires, clearly showed the positive effects of a hybrid\r\ncooperation seminar on intercultural competences, the examination of different aspects of another\r\nculture, including history, politics, (post-)colonialism and one's own privileges.
