Twin-Roll-Casting (TRC) is an energy- and cost-efficient process to produce near-net-shape aluminum strips. Due to the high affinity of molten aluminum to steel surfaces, those rollers show signs of wear throughout the rolling campaign. This leads to the necessity of restoring the worn surfaces to suitable parameters. The easiest way is to grind the surface till all superficial defects are omitted. However, the thickness of the roller is not endless, therefore the rollers must be replaced after a certain amount of surface reconditioning. This ultimately leads to the non-usability of the roller. Utilizing a systematic literature review (SLR) and thematic analysis a framework for the business transformation towards the CE has been developed. It considers the dimensions product, business strategy, corporate management, and value chain. The circular business transformation (CBT) framework includes incentives for entering the CE, fields of action, design options, and associated challenges. For researchers, it provides a comprehensive overview and serves as a basis for in-depth studies of each dimension of CBT. Despite lithium niobate's wide applicability as a nonlinear optical material, the impact of mechanical stress on its nonlinear optical properties is not well characterized. In this work, we systematically study both experimentally and theoretically, the nonlinear optical responses of thin film lithium niobate (TFLN) single crystals. Compressive and tensile stress is applied in our experiment using a piezodriven strain cell. We then record the second-harmonic-generated (SHG) response in back-reflection geometry, and compare these results to theoretical modeling using density functional theory (DFT). Both methods consistently reveal that uniaxial stress induces changes of the nonlinear optical susceptibility of certain tensor elements on the order of up to 1 pm/(V GPa). The exact value depends on the tensor element that is addressed in our SHG analysis, on the crystal orientation, and also whether using compressive or tensile stresses. Jedoch wird diesem Thema wenig Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt und hochschuldidaktisch steht die Gestaltung von kognitiven und inhaltsbezogenen Lernarrangements im Zentrum. Therefore, the versatile SPR (V-SPR) and tumbling SPR (T-SPR) were developed. Using the example of a mixed material combination HCT590X+Z (t0 = 1.0 mm) / EN AW-6014 T4 (t0 = 2.0 mm), these processes were examined and compared with regard to the binding mechanisms form closure and force closure using micrographs, non-destructive resistance measurements and destructive torsion tests. At the same time, various industries are increasingly trending towards multi-material systems consisting of parts with varying geometric and mechanical properties. Due to the varying properties, rigid mechanical joining processes require sampling procedures and periodic changes of tool components or auxiliary joining parts. Consequently, research is focusing on versatile mechanical joining processes that allow increased control by modifying the process parameters. Two processes based on self-piercing riveting can achieve a significant increase in process influence possibilities through a multi-linear actuator as versatile self-piercing riveting (V-SPR) and a tumbling superimposed actuator as tumbling self-piercing riveting (T-SPR). Initial research into V-SPR has shown that this process can be used to achieve a higher variation in overall package thickness by adapting the rivet geometry and using multiple linear actuators. The T-SPR process also enables increased material flow control by means of targeted compression of the rivet using the tumbling actuator, thereby extending the range of joints that can be manufactured. The waviness of their channels intensifies fluid mixing in the boundary layers and facilitates heat transfer. Applying secondary surface structuring can further enhance the overall thermo-hydraulic performance of PPHEs, thus increasing their competitiveness against conventional heat exchangers. In this work, streamlined secondary structures applied on the PPHE surface were studied numerically to explore their potential in enhancing near-wall fluid mixing. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations of single-phase turbulent flow in the inner PPHE channel were performed and pressure drop, heat transfer coefficients, and overall thermo-hydraulic efficiency were determined. The integration and sizing of heat pumps in chemical processes is a challenging task in multi-product chemical processes due to the fluctuating waste heat supply and heat demand. Integrating heat pumps may require a retrofit of the utility system. Mathematical optimization is a useful tool to tackle this challenge by enabling the analysis of correlation between relevant system parameters and equipment sizing. Their query rewriting algorithms focus on languages like conjunctive queries and their unions, which were developed for relational data and are poorly suited for graph data. Moreover, they also limit the expressiveness of the ontology languages that admit rewritings, restricting them to those that enjoy the so-called FO-rewritability property. Rewritings have thus focused on the DL-Lite family of Description Logics. In this paper, we propose a technique for rewriting a family of navigational queries for a suitably tailored fragment of ELHI. Leveraging navigational features in the target query language, we can include some widely-used axiom shapes not supported by DL-Lite. Successful information-seeking is not solely related to academic outcome; it is also influenced by the social capital resources available within and beyond familiar cultural groups. This article sheds light on how international students’ social capital accumulation shapes their information searches across various online and offline social networks. A total of ten international students were interviewed at the beginning and the end of their first semester in Germany during the 2022–23 academic year. The findings demonstrate that the incoming students’ information-seeking strategies and social capital accumulation change over time. The students rely on their previously established social connections offline and online when preparing for their departure. Upon arrival in Germany, the students continue to search for information within their linguistic and cultural familiar groups, but their information-seeking process shifts to local in-person contexts.
