Their main task is to prevent oil from exiting the system and dirt particles from entering the system. When this function is not fulfilled, a leakage can occur and cause excessive damage after certain operating times, such as gear failure due to insufficient lubrication. This is the reason for the high level of current research interest in seals. The sealing function of RSSR occurs in the contact area between the sealing lip and the shaft. The contact takes place over a very small contact width of approximately 1 &mu;m. These extremely small dimensions and the complex relationships between the functional influencing variables on the radial shaft sealing system make it difficult to simulate wear on the sealing ring. The energetic consideration of the wear process offers the possibility of quantifying influencing variables more easily by their energetic contribution, which can be determined experimentally. Based on experimentally measured total friction moments, and with the help of a semi-analytical (SA) solid contact model based on the half-space theory, this paper presents a modelling approach for the calculation of wear at the sealing ring. The model presented in this work differs from the existing models in two ways. The first particularity is the coupling of SA method with finite element method (FEM) for the resolution of the contact between the sealing lip and the shaft, allowing a fine discretization of the contact zone (by SA method) and the consideration of the structural behavior (by FE method). The SA method compared to the commonly used FEM presents a great saving in computation time. The second particularity is the use of the real data obtained during the wear tests. Most existing simulation models are based purely on contact pressure. This means that through the contact pressure obtained by simulation and a given sliding distance value, a friction energy will be estimated which will be used in a next step using a wear model such as Archad&rsquo;s to calculate the wear rate. For this purpose, typically thermoelastohydrodynamic lubrication (TEHL) simulations are used. The published models range from rather simple elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) models to very sophisticated TEHL models. Only very few models take into account the roughness or microstructure of both contact surfaces, though, since this would require the consideration of transient effects. In this article, a transient TEHL model for the contact of radial shaft seals is presented. We present three approaches for the same multi-domain defensive action that can be applied in such an alliance: 1) Counteract Everywhere, 2) Minimize Countermeasures, and 3) Minimize Propagation. First, we provide a formula to compute efficiency of a defense; then we use this formula to compute the efficiency of the approaches under various circumstances. Finally, we discuss how task execution order and timing influence defense efficiency. Einige Unternehmen und Institute haben sich daher in jüngster Zeit mit dem Thema der reproduzierbaren Bauteileigenschaften beschäftigt. Mit der hier vorgestellten und angewandten Methodik wird nicht nur der Prozessablauf vom Bauteil bis zu Nachbearbeitung betrachtet, sondern auch die Maschinenperformance in einem Ringversuch und über einen längeren Zeitraum geprüft. Rückgrat dieser Untersuchung bildet hierbei der aus der Six Sigma Lehre stammende DMAIC (Define - Measure - Analyse - Improve - Control) Verbesserungszyklus. Hierfür wird ein Standard-Prozess definiert. Diesem folgend werden die für die Industrie oder den Anwender interessanten Messungen aufgenommen und analysiert. Anschließend wird der Prozess sowie die Messmethodik optimiert und auch Kontrollmethoden definiert. Für die Anwendung der entwickelten Methodik wird exemplarisch der Maschinentyp EOS P396 mit PA2200 untersucht. Daten für die Bestimmung der Mechanik, der Optik und der Haptik sowie für die Dimensionen und die Bauteildichte werden als Qualitätskriterium aufgenommen und über einen längeren Zeitraum analysiert. Since non-technical users write their software requirements themselves and in unrestricted natural language, deficits occur such as inaccuracy and incompleteness. These deficits are usually met by natural language processing methods, which have to face special challenges in OTF Computing because maximum automation is the goal. In this paper, we present current automatic approaches for solving inaccuracies and incompletenesses in natural language requirement descriptions and elaborate open challenges. In particular, we will discuss the necessity of domain-specific resources and show why, despite far-reaching automation, an intelligent and guided integration of end users into the compensation process is required. In this context, we present our idea of a chat bot that integrates users into the compensation process depending on the given circumstances. However, high dissipative losses and inevitable thermal heating limit their applicability in nonlinear nanophotonics. All-dielectric metasurfaces, supporting both electric and magnetic Mie-type resonances in their nanostructures, have appeared as a promising alternative to nonlinear plasmonics. High-index dielectric nanostructures, allowing additional magnetic resonances, can induce magnetic nonlinear effects, which, along with electric nonlinearities, increase the nonlinear conversion efficiency. In addition, low dissipative losses and high damage thresholds provide an extra degree of freedom for operating at high pump intensities, resulting in a considerable enhancement of the nonlinear processes. We discuss the current state of the art in the intensely developing area of all-dielectric nonlinear nanostructures and metasurfaces, including the role of Mie modes, Fano resonances, and anapole moments for harmonic generation, wave mixing, and ultrafast optical switching. Furthermore, we review the recent progress in the nonlinear phase and wavefront control using all-dielectric metasurfaces. It has never been easier to inform oneself about the quality of products or services and possible alternatives. Forming one’s own opinion based on the impressions of other people can lead to better experiences. However, this presupposes trust in one’s fellows as well as in the quality of the review platforms. In previous work on physician reviews and the corresponding websites, it was observed that there occurs faulty behavior by some reviewers and there were noteworthy differences in the technical implementation of the portals and in the efforts of site operators to maintain high quality reviews. Siegen, Germany."},"abstract":[{"text":"Increased interconnectedness of multiple actors and digital resources in service eco-systems offer new opportunities for service innovation. In digitally transforming eco-systems, organizations need to explore and exploit innovation simultaneously, which is defined as ambidexterity. However, research on ambidextrous service innovation is scarce. We provide a systematic literature review based on the concepts of ambidexterity, offering two contributions. First, research strands are disconnected, emphasizing either exploration or exploitation of service innovation, despite an organizations’ need to accelerate innovation cycles of exploring and exploiting services. Second, a new framework for ambidextrous service innovation is provided, inspired by the dynamism and generative mechanisms of the ontologically related concept of organizational routines. The framework adopts the perspective of a mutually constitutive relationship between exploring new and exploiting current resources, activities, and knowledge. However, single layer metasurface systems consisting of two-dimensional nanoparticle arrays exhibit only a weak spatial asymmetry perpendicular to the surface and therefore have mostly symmetric transmission features. Here, we present a metasurface design principle for nonreciprocal polarization encryption of holographic images. Our approach is based on a two-layer plasmonic metasurface design that introduces a local asymmetry and generates a bidirectional functionality with full phase and amplitude control of the transmitted light. The encoded hologram is designed to appear in a particular linear cross-polarization channel, while it is disappearing in the reverse propagation direction.
