However, the environmental instability of dsRNA presents a major limitation to its field application. In this study, we evaluate two distinct dsRNA formulation strategies for improved stability and delivery: a bottom-up approach using chitosan-based interpolyelectrolyte complexes (IPEC) and a top-down approach employing functionalized mesoporous silica carriers (SBA-15). Both systems were comprehensively characterized in terms of size, surface potential, porosity, and release behavior. The results revealed that IPECs exhibited release kinetics that were approximately one order of magnitude faster than those of SBA-15 across all tested conditions. The two formulations significantly improved dsRNA stability against UV and heat exposure compared to free dsRNA. In feeding assays with P. chrysocephala, both carriers achieved comparable gene silencing efficacy, though dsRNA@IPEC induced more immediate effects, while dsRNA@SBA-15 displayed delayed but ultimately stronger reduction in consumed leaf area, consistent with its slower release kinetics. We demonstrate that despite structural and mechanistic differences, both delivery platforms effectively stabilized and delivered dsRNA, and offered distinct advantages depending on application needs. This mechanism creates a solid-state barrier prior to\r\nrapid fusion, effectively preventing expulsion. Experimental results demonstrate that while the reference\r\nconstant-current schedule fails to maintain a process window under a 2 mm initial gap (IG) disturbance, the\r\nproposed strategy significantly enhances process stability. It increases the maximum expulsion-free heat input by\r\n24 % (to 6338 J) under normal conditions and by 77 % (to 6482 J) under the IG condition. Crucially, the\r\nincreased heat input drives nugget growth across all interfaces, achieving a penetration depth of 0.38 mm (48 %\r\npenetration ratio) in the low-carbon steel sheet under the gap condition. This study establishes a validated hierarchical methodology to predict tolerance-dependent failure behavior of SPR joints, progressing from coupon to sub-component scale through an integrated experimental–numerical approach. Five critical manufacturing tolerances, including rivet length (±0.5 mm), rivet head position (±0.3 mm), orthogonality deviation (2.8° and 5°), lateral offset (up to 1.2 mm), and flange overlap reduction (up to 7.5 mm), were investigated. Steel–steel joints exhibited a higher sensitivity to tolerances by a factor of 2–3 compared to steel–aluminum joints. A unified effective rivet length concept was developed to consolidate the geometric effects of all tolerances into a single physically meaningful parameter, enabling load-bearing capacity prediction with R2 > 0.95 across all evaluated loading directions. The sub-component validation employing T-joint specimens indicates a 2–3 fold amplification of tolerance effects at critical structural regions, providing experimental evidence for the hierarchical scaling principle. The methodology was implemented in a tolerance-dependent CONSTRAINED_SPR3 formulation, providing >99 % computational efficiency improvement while maintaining a deviation in maximum force prediction within ±7 %. Although these sensors are known for their precision in stationary systems, their reliability under fluctuating flow conditions has remained unclear. To validate their accuracy, ultrasonic measurements were compared with both automated image analysis via a Python algorithm and manual video evaluation. Results show that ultrasonic sensors maintain high precision at moderate gas loads and with small hole diameters. Increased gas loads and turbulence, however, reduced measurement accuracy due to signal scattering. By taking advantage of the toluenesulfinyl group, a very useful traceless chiral auxiliary, it was possible to decorate stereopure axially chiral biphenyl tolyl sulfoxides and access unique chiral quaterphenyl tolyl sulfoxides by directed\r\n                    <jats:italic>ortho</jats:italic>\r\n                    ‐metalation and electrophile trapping as well as a dynamic kinetic asymmetric arylative cross‐coupling. However, the polarization DoF is intrinsically limited to two by\r\northogonality, which causes unavoidable crosstalk and often forces position multiplexing, where different\r\nchannels are assigned to distinct spatial locations to suppress crosstalk. This research introduces a multilayer\r\nsynchronous polarization projection method that fundamentally increases the DoF for polarization\r\nmultiplexing. The DoF equals twice the number of projection layers. We experimentally demonstrate six-\r\nchannel polarization multiplexing holography without position multiplexing. The six-channel multiplexing\r\nresults indicate that our approach exceeds the conventional polarization multiplexing method, yielding an\r\naverage 3.79 dB improvement in extinction ratio across the six channels. Compared with the theoretical\r\nlimit of traditional polarization multiplexing, our method reduces crosstalk by an average of 6.52 dB across\r\nall channels in a seven-channel design. Self-pierce riveting has become a prevalent technique for sheet metal assembly, especially in automotive applications. Achieving proper joint geometry and adequate load-bearing capacity depends on appropriate tool selection and precise process control. Material properties and condition also play a significant role in process performance. To accommodate the inevitable variations in component characteristics during production, a robust and stable joining process is essential. The study focuses on investigating the influence of preformed joining partners on the joining process and the joint's load capacity. An EN AW-6014 in T4 condition, as well as an HCT590X, are used as materials for this study. For this purpose, an exemplary process chain consisting of the steps of performing, joining, and shear load testing is studied. Each process step is implemented using an FE model to predict the outcome of subsequent steps. For analysis of the influence of pre-strain, an optimisation software is used to plan and execute variations of the process. These variations are used to create a meta-model that can describe the relationships between pre-forming and characteristic parameters of subsequent process steps. The resulting model is validated by comparing simulation and experimental data. They are central to many European research initiatives and shape the data economy in Industry 4.0. Generally, they aim to create secure environments for cross-organizational data management and sharing. Currently, there is considerable interest in developing new data spaces in Industry 4.0, also accelerated through regulatory changes. However, key questions about what precisely characterizes a data space in Industry 4.0 remain unresolved. Against this backdrop, we build a taxonomy of data spaces in the Industry 4.0 context. We identified nine distinctive dimensions and 40 corresponding characteristics among the 19 data spaces analyzed. The taxonomy enables clearer classification and nomenclature of data spaces in this context.
