The intensive computation and bandwidth demand for ERI evaluation presents a significant challenge for quantum-mechanics-based atomistic simulations with hybrid density functional theory: due to the tens of trillions of ERI computations in each time step, practical applications are usually limited to thousands of atoms. In this work, we propose SERI, a high-throughput streaming accelerator for ERI computation on HBM-based FPGAs. In contrast to prior buffer-based designs, SERI proposes a novel streaming architecture to address the on-chip buffer limitation and the floorplanning challenge, and leverages the high-bandwidth memory to overcome the bandwidth bottleneck in prior designs. Moreover, to meet the varying computation, bandwidth, and floorplanning requirements between the 55 canonical quartet classes in ERI calculation, we design an automation tool, together with an accurate performance model, to automatically customize the architecture and floorplanning strategy for each canonical quartet class to maximize their throughput. Our performance evaluation on the AMD/Xilinx Alveo U280 FPGA board shows that, SERI achieves an average speedup of 9.80 x over the previous best-performing FPGA design, a 3.21x speedup over a 64-core AMD EPYC 7713 CPU, and a 15.64x speedup over an Nvidia A40 GPU. A bending beam is used as a nonlinear test object. A design and a surrogate model of the test rig are shown and parameterized based on test rig measurements. The force control algorithm using input/output linearisation is described and implemented in Matlab/Simulink for simulative validation studies. Conclusions drawn from the mathematical description of the problem as well as simulation results show that the design of the contact between shaker and test object is crucial to achieve a high control bandwidth and at the same time reduce the energy consumption of the shaker. This leads to the practical application using a novel damping contact element. This study presents a novel approach to prevent expulsion by employing a preheating current. Through characteristic analysis of joint formation under critical welding current, the importance of plastic material encapsulation around the weld nugget (plastic shell) at high temperatures in preventing expulsion is highlighted. To evaluate the effect of preheating on the plastic shell and understand its mechanism in expulsion prevention, a two-dimensional welding simulation model for dissimilar ultra-high strength steel joints was established. The results showed that optimal preheating enhances the thickness of the plastic shell, improving its ability to encapsulate the weld nugget during the primary welding phase, thereby diminishing expulsion risks. Experimental validation confirmed that by employing the optimal preheating current, the maximum nugget diameter was enhanced to 9.42 mm, marking an increase of 13.4 % and extending the weldable current range by 27.5 %. Under quasi-static cross-tensile loading, joints with preheating demonstrated a 7.9 % enhancement in maximum load-bearing capacity compared to joints without preheating, showing a reproducible and complete pull-out failure mode within the heat-affected zone. Thus, we aim to further the literature on time perspectives and collaborative performance, shedding light on the underlying behavioral patterns.</jats:p></jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type=\"abstract-subheading\">Design/methodology/approach</jats:title><jats:p>We report a quasi-experiment analyzing the impact of past, present and future orientation variation in dyads (<jats:italic>N</jats:italic> = 76) on their quantitative and qualitative performance when confronted with a simple incentivized creative task with constraints. Subsequently, we offer a qualitative analysis of comments given by the participants after the task on the collaboration.</jats:p></jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type=\"abstract-subheading\">Findings</jats:title><jats:p>Results indicate that a dyad's elevation of past orientation and diversity in future orientation negatively affect collaborative performance. At the same time, there is a positive effect of elevation of future orientation. The positive effect is driven by clear communication and agreement during the task, while the negative effect arises from work sharing and complementation.</jats:p></jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type=\"abstract-subheading\">Practical implications</jats:title><jats:p>This study provides insights for organizations on composing individuals regarding their temporal focus for collaborative tasks that should be executed rapidly and require creative solutions.</jats:p></jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title content-type=\"abstract-subheading\">Originality/value</jats:title><jats:p>Our study distinguishes by considering the composition of past, present and future time perspectives in dyads and focuses on a creative task setting. Neben der Relevanz der Quantität elterlicher Unterstützung ist in Untersuchungen zur Rolle der Familie für das Lernen mit digitalen Medien auch die Qualität von zentraler Bedeutung (Bonanati et al., 2022). Dabei erwies sich allgemein in der Forschung zur elterlichen Hausaufgabenunterstützung eine autonomieunterstützende, strukturgebende und zugleich wertschätzende Instruktion als besonders gewinnbringend (Dumont et al., 2014). Zudem ist bekannt, dass die elterliche Unterstützung unter anderem auf Grund der steigenden Komplexität der Unterrichtsinhalte, der steigenden Selbstständigkeit sowie dem zunehmenden Autonomiebedürfnis der Lernenden im Schulverlauf abnimmt (Luplow & Schneider, 2018). Wie sich die elterliche Unterstützung bei der informationsorientierten Internetnutzung von Kindern über die Zeit und mit Beginn der Covid-19-Pandemie verändert, ist relevant für den Förderkontext, bislang aber nur wenig betrachtet worden und deshalb Ziel der vorliegenden Untersuchung.\r\nGrundlage der vorliegenden Untersuchung sind längsschnittliche Daten von 395 Schüler*innen sowie 191 Eltern, die im Jahr 2019/2020 in fünften Klassen (~10-11 Jahre) und im Jahr 2021/22 in siebten Klassen (~12-13 Jahre) erhoben wurden. \r\nDie Ergebnisse zeigten eine Abnahme der Quantität elterlicher Instruktion von der fünften zur siebten Jahrgansstufe sowohl aus Eltern- als auch aus Kinderperspektive. Hinsichtlich der Qualität elterlicher Unterstützung berichteten Eltern in der 7. Klassenstufe von weniger autonomieunterstützender Instruktion, während Kinder der 7. Klassenstufe von einer weniger autonomieunterstützenden und wertschätzenden Instruktion berichteten. Driven by rising electricity prices and an easing in legislation since 2024, the number of mini-photovoltaic energy systems (mini-PVs) being installed is increasing substantially. Indoor and outdoor studies of microinverters have been carried out at Paderborn University since 2014. In the indoor lab, conversion efficiencies as a function of load have been measured with high accuracy and ranked according to Euro and CEC weightings; the latest rankings from 2024 are included in this paper. In the outdoor lab, energy yields have been measured using identical and calibrated crystalline silicon PV modules; until 2020, measurements were carried out using 215 Wp modules. Because of increasing PV module power ratings, 360 Wp modules were used from 2020 until 2024. In 2024, the test modules were upgraded to 410 Wp modules, taking into account the increase from 600 W to 800 W of inverter power limits, which is suitable for simplified operation permission (“plug-in”) in many European countries within a homogenised legislation area for such mini-photovoltaic energy systems or “balcony power plants”. This legislation for simplified operation also covers overpowered mini-plants, although the maximum AC output remains limited to 800 W. Presently, yield assessments are being carried out in the outdoor lab, which will take at least a year to be valid and comparable. Kits consisting of PV modules, inverters, and mounting systems are also being evaluated. Yield rankings sometimes differ from efficiency rankings due to the use of different MPPT algorithms with different MPP approach speeds and accuracies. To accelerate yield assessment, we developed a novel, simple formula to determine energy yield for any module and inverter configuration, including overpowered systems. This is a linear approach, determined by just two coefficients, a and b, which are given for several inverters.
