    and reducing CO\r\n 2\r\n emissions.
Their feasibility strongly depends on the temperature levels and the quantities
of available heat sources and sinks, which can be influenced by adjusting process
operating parameters to enhance integration potential. The number and quality
of these sources and sinks also determine suitable heat pump configurations and
therefore the technical and economic viability of implementation. In addition,
refrigerant selection is a critical factor, as it is restricted by regulations
such as the F‐Gas Regulation. This study investigates how different operating

text: "Industrial electrification is increasing to reduce fossil fuel dependence,
alongside a growing share of volatile renewables.\r\nA secure and reliable energy
supply is crucial for industry, leading to a shift from centralised to decentralised
grid structures.\r\nDC microgrids becoming increasingly popular in industry, since
they enable energy recuperation from braking, reduce components and cables, and
integrate storage and local generation to manage supply interruptions or peak
loads.\r\nEVs add further synergies by serving as mobile storage units, helping
to store and redistribute locally generated renewable energy.\r\nThis paper analyses
how EV integration in droop-controlled DC grids can contribute to a more stable,
low-emission and peak-reduced load profile to the supply grid through load shifting
and bridge interruptions.\r\nA droop-controlled DC grid model has been developed,
incorporating an EV charging park based on probability functions.\r\nScalable
scenarios allow for diverse condition analysis using an energy management system
that utilises fuzzy logic and sequential MILP optimisation.\r\nIt has been shown
that a 7% improvement of coefficient represented grid-serving behaviour is possible
by load shifting.\r\nIt has also been demonstrated that an optimised EMS can reduce
the demand-based CO2 emissions by 41kg for a representative day compared to a
fuzzy logic EMS.\r\nAt the same time peak load is decreased yielding a more constant
residual load.\r\nThese results highlight the potential of a controlled bidirectional
charging infrastructure in DC grids and underscore the need to explicitly consider
charging processes to ensure a residual load as constant as possible."

text: 'Information systems (IS) research is increasingly exploring the potential
of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), such as large language models (LLMs).
For design science research (DSR), such technologies foster entirely new vistas
for the design of IT artifacts that make use of their generative capabilities,
but also influence DSR methodology. This shift is much more profound than it has
been discussed so far. To identify existing implications of GenAI for design-oriented
research in IS, we report results from an integrative literature review of recent
DSR publications in leading IS outlets. Thereby, we synthesize five major theoretical
challenges that arise when using GenAI in DSR projects: (1) an obscure composition
of the artifact, (2) an opaque contextualization of the LLM, (3) a fragile internal
consistency of the artifact, (4) a rapid erosion of prescriptive knowledge, and
    (5) missing methodological guidance. We investigate these challenges and conceptualize
a set of three guidelines that inform DSR in the rising era of GenAI. These guidelines
support researchers in designing and justifying GenAI-related DSR processes and
in precisely articulating the theoretical grounding of their design decisions
    and evaluation strategies.'

text: This paper investigates the potential impacts of digitalisation on society
and democratic governance through the construction of four realist science fiction
scenarios. The study aims to delineate desirable and undesirable digital futures
to inform policy discourse and strategic planning. It begins with the outlining
of the research basis and methodology, where it employs a methodological synthesis
of the Scenario Development Technique from the UN Strategic Foresight Guide and
STEEP Analysis. This approach integrates a macro environmental assessment of socio-cultural,
technological, economic, environmental, and political dimensions to identify key
drivers of change and differences. These are then mapped onto a two-by-two matrix
defined by two primary axes. This combination enabled the development of four
scenarios examining the impact of digital technologies across these dimensions.
The scenarios diverge along two axes. The vertical axis represents the mode of
societal organisation and political power (authoritarianism versus democracy).
The horizontal axis represents the mode of governance and citizen engagement (representation
versus participation). By contrasting these divergent paths, this paper provides
a critical framework for analysing how digital technologies intersect with political
    will and socioeconomic structures.

text: This article explores the relativity of Islamic normativity through the taṣwīb
doctrine (kullu mujtahid muṣīb) as formulated by al-ʿAnbarī and received by al-Jāḥiẓ
    (d. 255/869), al-Jaṣṣāṣ (d. 370/981), and al-Baṣrī (d. 436/1044). Al-Jaṣṣāṣ reinterprets
the thesis through the ḥanafī principle of ashbah bi-l-aṣl as a hermeneutical-methodological
approach; al-Baṣrī elaborates it into an epistemo-logical model of normative plurality,
while al-Jāḥiẓ articulates a soteriological theory of moral responsibility in
the context of kalām. The analysis shows that classical Islamic legal theory developed
a distinct modelof normativity that maintains binding force under conditions of
pluralism and uncertainty. The article calls for renewed engagement with this
tradition in contemporary debates on religious normativity and legal pluralism.

  text:
Subject of this paper is the investigation of the influence of local
joint kinematics on the load-bearing and failure behavior of self- piercing riveted
(SPR) joints. It can be shown that the local joint kinematics of SPR joints correlate
with the failure mechanism of the joint. The kinematics are highly influenced
by the material properties of the joining partners. Detailed experimental results
from tensile tests on a representative SPR joint are presented, with local joint
kinematics quantified using multiple complementary measurement methods (optical
measurement, micrographs, in situ computer tomography). Furthermore, results of
component tests are shown where the kinematics of the joints have been measured
in the same manner. The experimental results are later used to calibrate simulation
models for crash application which are used to simulate the specimen and component
tests. The results of the investigation show that the local joint kinematic influences
the failure behavior of the joint. Simulations of the experimental tests have
shown good results, and the investigated models are able to predict the actual
    joint behavior.

Surface modifications were characterized by X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS),
    polarization modulation–infrared reflection–absorption spectroscopy (PM‐IRRAS)
and water contact angle (WCA) measurements. Electrochemical behavior was evaluated
by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), linear sweep voltammetry (LSV),

text: Service research has evolved into an interdisciplinary research field that
bridges diverse disciplines, including information systems (IS) and marketing.
Nearly two decades ago, the service system concept was introduced as a foundational
abstraction in service research, drawing on ideas from the service-dominant logic
(S-D logic) of marketing. Despite its widespread adoption in service research,
particularly in the IS discipline, the service system concept lacks a solid theoretical
foundation. This has resulted in conceptual ambiguity and overlap with related
constructs, such as service ecosystems. Moreover, it has largely remained a static
analytical lens, insufficiently capturing dynamic service phenomena, including
value co-creation and co-destruction, as well as the emergence of institutional
arrangements. To address these limitations, we propose Luhmann’s systems theory
(LST) as a robust framework for conceptualizing service systems as autopoietic
(self-creating) systems, in which communication serves as the fundamental mechanism
that drives value co-creation. We derive five theoretical propositions from this
re-conceptualization that clarify conceptual ambiguity and allow researchers to
explore dynamic service phenomena in greater depth. Given LST’s general approach,
our conceptualization provides a theoretically grounded, interdisciplinary foundation
    for advancing service research.

text: "Mathematical problem solving is a highly complex competence that needs\r\nto
be supported throughout the learning process. This study examines the role of\r\nproblem-solving
heuristics among 73 sixth-grade students in a German secondary\r\nschool (Gesamtschule).
Specifically, we focus on the empirical relationship between\r\nthe occurrence
of heuristics, their suitability, and application, as well as their contribution\r\nto
problem-solving success. To this end, we developed a heuristic training that\r\nintroduced
strategy keys (heuristic aid cards) accompanied by explanatory videos. By\r\nleveraging
variations in the successful application of the heuristics between students\r\nand
across multiple sessions (73 students in 4 training situations and 3 problems\r\nin
a final test), we discover from regression models with student and task-fixed
effects\r\nthat a successful use of heuristics (i.e., an heuristic occurred, that
heuristic had\r\na high suitability regarding the problem, and it was applied
correctly) leads to more\r\nsuccessful mathematical problem solving. Regarding
the underlying mechanism, we\r\nfind that all dimensions of heuristic use (occurrence,
suitability, and application\r\nof heuristics) are positively related to problem-solving
success. When comparing\r\nthe predictive capacity of all three aspects, we identified
the correct application of\r\nheuristics as particularly conducive for better
problem-solving success. In comparing\r\nthe group of students with high to those
with low initial math competence, we find no significant differences in the relationship
between heuristic use and problemsolving\r\nsuccess across achievement groups.
Our results emphasize the crucial role\r\nof heuristic application in mathematical
problem solving, which generally benefits\r\nstudents regardless of their overall
    math competence."

text: Self-piercing riveting (SPR) is a well-established joining technique in lightweight
construction, as it enables the joining of different materials without requiring
pre-drilling. However, the necessary adaptation of the rivet-die combination to
the respective material and thickness combinations requires a large number of
specific tool sets, which significantly limits the process's flexibility. To overcome
these limitations, the versatile self-piercing riveting (V-SPR) was developed,
which features enhanced punch actuation in combination with a multi-range-capable
rivet . In this context, the concept of a movable die was introduced, which enables
an extended process window and adaptable joint formation. Kappe et al. presented
initial studies demonstrating the potential of this approach . However, a detailed
numerical understanding of the underlying mechanisms remains lacking. This paper
presents a numerical analysis of V-SPR with a movable die using a finite element
(FE) model. The model includes deformable rivets, sheet metal materials and a
kinematically controlled die with adjustable movement. A parameter study was conducted
to analyse the influence of die movement on the material flow of the rivet and
sheets, as well as joint formation. The simulations were validated using selected
experimental data. The goal is to compare the joint geometries achieved with fixed
and moving dies and expand the process windows of VSPR. The results demonstrate
that the movable-die concept significantly enhances the material flow of both
the sheets and the rivet, resulting in a noticeably larger and more reliable interlock
than what is achievable with V-SPR using a fixed die. The numerical analyses support
the observations reported by Kappe et al. and extend them by providing a quantitative
description of how die displacement influences the resulting interlock size. Moreover,
the ability to precisely control the die movement makes it possible to join challenging
sheet-metal combinations that are difficult to process with conventional setups,
particularly in cases involving thicker sheet materials.

text: "The use of aluminium materials in the structural and bodywork areas of assemblies
has proven to be a targeted option for lightweight design. How-ever, the reliable
and cost-efficient joining of aluminium components remains a challenge. Mechanical
joining methods, such as riveting, are frequently used in the automotive and aerospace
construction industries. Rivets are made from heat-treated steels. Compared to
steel, the use of aluminium materials for fasten-ers offers several advantages
in terms of joining properties, particularly in terms of recyclability, corrosion
resistance and reduced weight of the joined structure. Additionally, the manufacturing
process is shorter since aluminium fasteners do not require coating. However,
aluminium rivets can often not be used due to the insufficient mechanical strength
of the fastener material in relation to the joining component materials.\r\nThis
study systematically investigates the requirements for using solid alu-minium
self-piercing rivets. The influence of rivet geometry adjustments on the joint
quality is analysed using numerical simulation. The results are used to derive
and evaluate an optimised rivet geometry for joining pure aluminium sheets. On
this basis, solid self-drilling rivets with optimised geometry are manufactured
from particle-reinforced aluminium produced in a continuous extrusion process
by machining. The integration of particles increases the material’s strength.
Exper-imental tests are conducted to evaluate the use of optimised solid self-piercing
rivets. The quality-relevant parameters are determined and evaluated based on
    macrographs of the joints."
