text: Metasurfaces provide applications for a variety of flat elements and devices
due to the ability to modulate light with subwavelength structures. The working
principle meanwhile gives rise to the crucial problem and challenge to protect
the metasurface from dust or clean the unavoidable contaminants during daily usage.
Here, taking advantage of the intelligent bioinspired surfaces which exhibit self-cleaning
properties, a versatile dielectric metasurface benefiting from the obtained superhydrophilic
or quasi-superhydrophobic states is shown. The design is realized by embedding
the metasurface inside a large area of wettability supporting structures, which
is highly efficient in fabrication, and achieves both optical and wettability
functionality at the same time. The superhydrophilic state enables an enhanced
optical response with water, while the quasi-superhydrophobic state imparts the
fragile antennas an ability to self-clean dust contamination. Furthermore, the
metasurface can be easily switched and repeated between these two wettability
or functional states by appropriate treatments in a repeatable way, without degrading
the optical performance. The proposed design strategy will bring new opportunities
to smart metasurfaces with improved optical performance, versatility, and physical
    stability.

text: "Recent reinforcement learning approaches for continuous control in wireless
mobile networks have shown impressive\r\nresults. But due to the lack of open
and compatible simulators, authors typically create their own simulation environments
for training and evaluation. This is cumbersome and time-consuming for authors
and limits reproducibility and comparability, ultimately impeding progress in
the field.\r\n\r\nTo this end, we propose mobile-env, a simple and open platform
for training, evaluating, and comparing reinforcement learning and conventional
approaches for continuous control in mobile wireless networks. mobile-env is lightweight
and implements the common OpenAI Gym interface and additional wrappers, which
allows connecting virtually any single-agent or multi-agent reinforcement learning
framework to the environment. While mobile-env provides sensible default values
and can be used out of the box, it also has many configuration options and is
easy to extend. We therefore believe mobile-env to be a valuable platform for
driving meaningful progress in autonomous coordination of\r\nwireless mobile networks."

text: While plasmonic particles can provide optical resonances in a wide spectral
range from the lower visible up to the near-infrared, often, symmetry effects
are utilized to obtain particular optical responses. By breaking certain spatial
symmetries, chiral structures arise and provide robust chiroptical responses to
these plasmonic resonances. Here, we observe strong chiroptical responses in the
linear and nonlinear optical regime for chiral L-handed helicoid-III nanoparticles
and quantify them by means of an asymmetric factor, the so-called g-factor. We
calculate the linear optical g-factors for two distinct chiroptical resonances
to −0.12 and –0.43 and the nonlinear optical g-factors to −1.45 and −1.63. The
results demonstrate that the chirality of the helicoid-III nanoparticles is strongly
    enhanced in the nonlinear regime.

    erreicht.

text: 'The presented paper aims to characterize the damage and fracture behavior
of HX340LAD Micro-Alloyed steels using small punch test. Variations with respect
to punch geometries and cutting clearance are made to describe the damage behavior
of the material under different loading conditions. Experimental investigations
are conducted to identify the crack initiation in the specimens. Furthermore,
the numerical FEM simulations are performed to identify the stress state at crack
initiation. It is shown that different stress states from shear to biaxial tension
can be achieved by changing the geometries of punch and varying the cutting clearance.
Moreover, it is presented how changing the configurations can influence the stress
state variables: Triaxiality and lode angle parameter.'

text: The process chain for the manufacturing of sheet metal components in mass
production includes various cutting and forming operations, which influence the
resulting properties of the parts and therefore subsequent manufacturing steps,
such as clamping and joining. It is shown that clamping of the components leads
to superimposed residual stresses and geometry changes. Therefore, the part properties
differ from the initial state of the semifinished products, which has to be considered
in the design of clinched joints. This paper presents an approach for coupled
determination of the properties of semifinished and finished parts during deep
drawing and clamping as well as their effects on the joint quality during clinching.
One method for the effective and efficient determination of the properties of
semifinished products and components during production is using process data from
the preceding manufacturing processes, which is concretely presented in this work.
In addition to the interconnection of the entire production chain, it is necessary
to define relevant process data for each individual manufacturing step and to
correlate the data with the material properties reliably. Therefore, the cross-process
interactions of different steps of the process chain for the manufacturing of
sheet metal components and the effect of process variations on subsequent manufacturing
steps are investigated. Consequently, the boundary conditions for a mechanical
joining process based on data from preceding process steps can be predicted.

text: In this paper, a model of a hybrid, hydrogen-based energy system for a household
which includes the heating sector is presended. With such an energy system it's
possible to enable energy autarky over a whole year based on solar energy. The
scope of this study was to present a verified hybrid energy system model created
in Simulink which can be used to prospectively size future similar energy systems
where hydrogen in combination with a li-ion battery shall be used as energy storage
    type.

text: "Static analysis tools support developers in detecting potential coding issues,
such as bugs or vulnerabilities. Research on static analysis emphasizes its technical
challenges but also mentions severe usability shortcomings. These shortcomings
hinder the adoption of static analysis tools, and in some cases, user dissatisfaction
even leads to tool abandonment.\r\nTo comprehensively assess the current state
of the art, this paper presents the first systematic usability evaluation in a
wide range of static analysis tools. We derived a set of 36 relevant criteria
from the scientific literature and gathered a collection of 46 static analysis
tools complying with our inclusion and exclusion criteria - a representative set
of mainly non-proprietary tools. Then, we evaluated how well these tools fulfill
the aforementioned criteria.\r\nThe evaluation shows that more than half of the
considered tools offer poor warning messages, while about three-quarters of the
tools provide hardly any fix support. Furthermore, the integration of user knowledge
is strongly neglected, which could be used for improved handling of false positives
and tuning the results for the corresponding developer. Finally, issues regarding
workflow integration and specialized user interfaces are proved further.\r\nThese
findings should prove useful in guiding and focusing further research and development
in the area of user experience for static code analyses."

text: Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) are the primary mechanism that developers
use to obtain access to third-party algorithms and services. Unfortunately, APIs
can be misused, which can have catastrophic consequences, especially if the APIs
provide security-critical functionalities like cryptography. Understanding what
API misuses are, and for what reasons they are caused, is important to prevent
them, e.g., with API misuse detectors. However, definitions and nominations for
API misuses and related terms in literature vary and are diverse. This paper addresses
the problem of scattered knowledge and definitions of API misuses by presenting
a systematic literature review on the subject and introducing FUM, a novel Framework
for API Usage constraint and Misuse classification. The literature review revealed
that API misuses are violations of API usage constraints. To capture this, we
provide unified definitions and use them to derive FUM. To assess the extent to
which FUM aids in determining and guiding the improvement of an API misuses detectors'
capabilities, we performed a case study on CogniCrypt, a state-of-the-art misuse
detector for cryptographic APIs. The study showed that FUM can be used to properly
assess CogniCrypt's capabilities, identify weaknesses and assist in deriving mitigations
and improvements. And it appears that also more generally FUM can aid the development
and improvement of misuse detection tools.

text: Gender bias may emerge from an unequal representation of agency and power,
for example, by portraying women frequently as passive and powerless ("She accepted
her future'') and men as proactive and powerful ("He chose his future''). When
language models learn from respective texts, they may reproduce or even amplify
the bias. An effective way to mitigate bias is to generate counterfactual sentences
with opposite agency and power to the training. Recent work targeted agency-specific
verbs from a lexicon to this end. We argue that this is insufficient, due to the
interaction of agency and power and their dependence on context. In this paper,
we thus develop a new rewriting model that identifies verbs with the desired agency
and power in the context of the given sentence. The verbs' probability is then
boosted to encourage the model to rewrite both connotations jointly. According
to automatic metrics, our model effectively controls for power while being competitive
in agency to the state of the art. In our evaluation, human annotators favored
its counterfactuals in terms of both connotations, also deeming its meaning preservation
    better.

  text: '
How can Knowledge In/Equity be addressed in qualitative research
by taking the idea of Open Science into account? Two projects from the Open Science
Fellows Programme by Wikimedia Deutschland will be used to illustrate how Open
Science practices can succeed in qualitative research, thereby reducing In/Equity.
In this context, In/Equity is considered as a fair and equal representation of
people, their knowledge and insights and comprehends questions about how epistemic,
structural, institutional and personal biases generate and shape knowledge as
guidance. Three questions guide this approach: firstly, what do we understand
by In/Equity in the context of knowledge production in these projects? Secondly,
who will be involved in knowledge generation and to what extent will they be valued
or unvalued? Thirdly, how can data be made accessible for re-use to enable true
    participation and sharing?
'

text: Within innovation management, choosing the best fitting product idea is the
most important decision point. The future existence and success of the organization
is depending on selected product ideas. To find the best fitting idea for an organization,
it needs evaluation criteria representing the organizations mission Therefore,
this study focuses on a holistic overview about evaluation criteria and on supporting
organizations in the process to select its individual evaluation criteria. Based
on a literature study, existing approaches regarding evaluation criteria in product
idea selection are identified and a list of evaluation criteria is reworked. Using
the list of evaluation criteria, a prioritization method is created. Within an
interview with experts in innovation management, the method is discussed regarding
usability and the level of assistance in product idea selection. The developed
criteria can be used directly by innovation manager and industrial practitioners
    to evaluate potential product ideas.

  text:
