text: AbstractDie Digitalisierung und Flexibilisierung
von Produktionsprozessen bieten in der Spezialchemie die Chance, auf marktseitige
Herausforderungen adäquat zu reagieren. Kürzer werdende Produktlebenszyklen, zunehmende
Produktindividualisierung und die daraus resultierende Volatilität der Märkte
stellen neue Anforderungen an Anlagenbetreiber. Neuartige Konzepte wie modulare
Produktionsanlagen sowie Technologieentwicklungen im Rahmen der Industrie 4.0
können dabei helfen, die Smart Factory in der Spezialchemie umzusetzen. Im Folgenden
werden die für diesen Wandel notwendigen Konzepte vorgestellt.

text: AbstractEs stehen vielfältige Methoden zur
Beschreibung der Wärme‐ und Stofftransportvorgänge in Festbettreaktoren für die
Durchführung von heterogen katalysierten Gasphasenreaktionen zur Verfügung. Neben
den homogenen und heterogenen Kontinuumsmodellen kann auch der partikelaufgelösten
Modellierung ein hohes Anwendungspotenzial zugewiesen werden. Für die Methoden
werden die Vor‐ und Nachteile sowie Annahmen und Randbedingungen dargestellt und
diskutiert. Zusätzlich werden die Möglichkeiten zur experimentellen Validierung
diskutiert, wobei der Fokus dabei auf den besonders verbreiteten zweidimensionalen,
homogenen Kontinuumsmodellen liegt.

text: AbstractDigitalization and increasing the
flexibility of production concepts offer the possibility to react to market challenges
in the field of specialty chemicals. Shorter product lifetimes, increasing product
individualization, and the resulting market volatility impose new requirements
on plant operators. Novel concepts such as modular production plants and developments
in digitalization (Industry 4.0) are able to assist the implementation of smart
factories in specialty chemicals. These essential concepts will be presented in
this Minireview.

text: Research on entrepreneurial learning highlights the importance of experience
and prior knowledge to entrepreneurial success. However, a conundrum remains and
we are still seeking answers as to why some novice entrepreneurs learn successfully
from their experiences and succeed, while some experienced entrepreneurs fail
with their ventures. In order to advance the discussion about the role of experience
during entrepreneurial learning, our critical reflection aims to (1) highlight
some of the shortcomings of experiential learning theory (ELT) and (2) illustrate
how alternative theoretical perspectives have the potential to advance our conceptual
understanding of entrepreneurial learning processes. We argue for an explanation
of entrepreneurial learning as a dynamic and self-regulated process that relies
on planning, monitoring, and self-reflection.

text: Although many methods have been proposed for engineering service systems and
customer solutions, most of these approaches give little consideration to recombinant
service innovation. Recombinant innovation refers to reusing and integrating resources
that were previously unconnected. In an age of networked products and data, we
can expect that many service innovations will be based on adding, dissociating,
and associating existing value propositions by accessing internal and external
resources instead of designing them from scratch. The purpose of this paper is
to identify if current service engineering approaches account for the mechanisms
of recombinant innovation and to design a method for recombinant service systems
engineering. In a conceptual analysis of 24 service engineering methods, the study
identified that most methods (1) focus on designing value propositions instead
of service systems, (2) view service independent of physical goods, (3) are either
linear or iterative instead of agile, and (4) do not sufficiently address the
mechanisms of recombinant innovation. The paper discusses how these deficiencies
can be remedied and designs a revised service systems engineering approach that
reorganizes service engineering processes according to four design principles.
The method is demonstrated with the recombinant design of a service system for
predictive maintenance of agricultural machines.

the anti-racist writings by contemporary scholars Cornel West, Eddie S. Glaude,
Jr., George Yancy, and Claudia Rankine. It uncovers how they include personal
narratives in their works in order to theorise the workings of white hegemony
in the twenty-first century. In doing so, I argue, they productively blur the
lines between the personal and the theoretical as well as between the past and
the present. Consequently, they problematise the notion of abstract theorising,
the myth of continuous racial progress as well as conceptions of postracialism."

text: The transition from high school to university mathematics has proven to be
difficult for many students but especially for pre-service secondary teachers.
To support these students at mastering this transition, various universities have
introduced support measures of various kinds. The WiGeMath project developed a
taxonomy that makes it possible to describe and compare these measures concerning
their goals as well as their frame characteristics. We will exemplify the use
of the taxonomy in the description of one specific innovative measure that was
part of the WiGeMath evaluations. Moreover, we will present first results concerning
the goal-fulfilment of this measure concerning affective characteristics of the
student cohort and their predominant beliefs.
