One option to increase the flexibility of continuously operated processes is to oversize them. From an economic point of view, this leads to an increased investment. These will be defined to have an Explicit Last stage in the general Butcher array of Diagonal Implicit Runge–Kutta (DIRK) methods, with the consequence, that no additional system of equations must be solved. The main results—valid also for non-linear ordinary differential equations—are as follows: Two extra function calculations are required in order to embed the implicit Euler-method and one extra function calculation is required for the trapezoidal-rule and the Ellsiepen method, in order to obtain the third order properties, respectively. Two numerical examples are concerned with a parachute with viscous damping and a two-dimensional laser beam simulation. However, these systems cannot be readily applied to business-to-business markets, are vulnerable to manipulation, and suffer from conceptual weak spots since they use textual data or star ratings. Building on design science research, we conceptualize a new class of reputation systems based on monetary-based payments as quantitative ratings for each transaction stored on a blockchain. Furthermore, it is desirable to detect and learn novel classes which are not included in the DNNs underlying set of semantic classes in an unsupervised fashion. The method proposed in this article builds upon anomaly detection to retrieve out-of-distribution (OoD) data as candidates for new classes. We thereafter extend the DNN by $k$ empty classes and fine-tune it on the OoD data samples. To this end, we introduce two loss functions, which 1) entice the DNN to assign OoD samples to the empty classes and 2) to minimize the inner-class feature distances between them. Thus, instead of ground truth which contains labels for the different novel classes, the DNN obtains a single OoD label together with a distance matrix, which is computed in advance. We perform several experiments for image classification and semantic segmentation, which demonstrate that a DNN can extend its own semantic space by multiple classes without having access to ground truth.}}, author = {{Uhlemeyer, Svenja and Lienen, Julian and Hüllermeier, Eyke and Gottschalk, Hanno}}, booktitle = {{arXiv:2305.00983}}, title = {{{Detecting Novelties with Empty Classes}}}, year = {{2023}}, } @article{44318, author = {{Rozo Vasquez, Julian and Arian, Bahman and Kersting, Lukas and Walther, Frank and Homberg, Werner and Trächtler, Ansgar}}, journal = {{Metals}}, title = {{{Detection of phase transformation during plastic deformation of metastable austenitic steel AISI 304L by means of X-ray diffraction pattern analysis}}}, year = {{2023}}, } @article{40477, author = {{Sperling, Jan and Gianani, Ilaria and Barbieri, Marco and Agudelo, Elizabeth}}, issn = {{2469-9926}}, journal = {{Physical Review A}}, number = {{1}}, publisher = {{American Physical Society (APS)}}, title = {{{Detector entanglement: Quasidistributions for Bell-state measurements}}}, doi = {{10.1103/physreva.107.012426}}, volume = {{107}}, year = {{2023}}, } @inproceedings{47084, abstract = {{Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is an additive manufacturing process to produce complex thermoplastic geometries layer by layer. Additive manufacturing processes, in particular powder-based selective laser melting, are used to produce metallic additive manufactured components for the automotive and aerospace industries. Different materials are often joined together to realize sustainable lightweight construction. The production of such mixed construction joints is often realized using mechanical joining technology (e.g. self-piercing riveting). However, there is currently very little experience with the mechanical joining of metallic additive manufacturing components. Furthermore, there is insufficient knowledge about the effects that occur during the mechanical joining of additive manufacturing components. In this article, a method is presented to investigate the joinability of additively manufactured components with conventionally manufactured components using a numerical simulation of the self-piercing riveting process. For this purpose, the additive manufacturing materials are characterized experimentally, the simulation model is configured, and the joining process with additive manufacturing materials is represented in the numerical simulation. Furthermore, the influence of the building direction on the mechanical properties is shown using miniature tensile specimens. This is mainly related to the constantly emerging challenges, such as not only the development of high-strength concretes is progressing very fast but also the simulation of the flow behaviour is of high importance. The main problem, however, is that the rheological characterisation of fresh concrete is not possible via commercial rheometers. The so-called concrete rheometers provide valuable relative values for comparing different concretes, but they cannot measure absolute values. Therefore, we developed an adaptive coaxial concrete rheometer (ACCR) that allows the measurement of fresh concrete with particles up to d max = 5.5 mm {d}_{{\rm{\max }}}=5.5\hspace{.5em}{\rm{mm}} . The comparison of the ACCR with a commercial rheometer showed very good agreement for selected test materials (Newtonian fluid, shear thinning fluid, suspension, and yield stress fluid), so that self-compacting concrete was subsequently measured. Since these measurements showed a very high reproducibility, the rheological properties of the fresh concrete could be determined with high accuracy. The common flow models (Bingham (B), Herschel–Bulkley, modified Bingham (MB) models) were also tested for their applicability, with the Bingham and the modified Bingham model proving to be the best suitable ones.}}, author = {{Josch, Sebastian and Jesinghausen, Steffen and Schmid, Hans-Joachim}}, issn = {{1617-8106}}, journal = {{Applied Rheology}}, keywords = {{Condensed Matter Physics, General Materials Science}}, number = {{1}}, publisher = {{Walter de Gruyter GmbH}}, title = {{{Development of an adaptive coaxial concrete rheometer and rheological characterisation of fresh concrete}}}, doi = {{10.1515/arh-2022-0140}}, volume = {{33}}, year = {{2023}}, } @inproceedings{48660, author = {{Schöppner, Volker and Austermeier, Laura and Alsoud, A.}}, location = {{St. Gallen (Schweiz)}}, title = {{{Development Of An Asymmetric Torque Model For The Two Screws Of A Twin Screw Extruder}}}, year = {{2023}}, } @inproceedings{48661, author = {{Schöppner, Volker and Petzke, J.}}, location = {{Gummersbach (Deutschland)}}, title = {{{Devulkanisation schwefelvernetzender Elastomere im halbleitergestützten Mikrowellenverfahren}}}, year = {{2023}}, } @inproceedings{50583, abstract = {{Dezember 2023}}, author = {{Büker, Petra and Herding, Jana}}, title = {{{Diagnostische Fallarbeit anhand des Vielfaltstableaus.
