These perturbations can change a model's classification decision. Moreover, while single-step adversaries can easily be transferred from network to network, the transfer of more powerful multi-step adversaries has - usually - been rather difficult.In this work, we introduce a method for generating strong adversaries that can easily (and frequently) be transferred between different models. This method is then used to generate a large set of adversaries, based on which the effects of selected defense methods are experimentally assessed. At last, we introduce a novel, simple, yet effective approach to enhance the resilience of neural networks against adversaries and benchmark it against established defense methods. Im vorliegenden Beitrag wird die theoriegeleitete Entwicklung und Erprobung eines Instrumentes zur standardisierten Erfassung von Planungskompetenzen angehender Lehrkräfte im Fach Sachunterricht dokumentiert, auf dessen Grundlage das in Nordrhein-Westfalen 2015 als Teil des Masterstudiums implementierte Praxissemester hinsichtlich der damit intendierten Ausbildung von Planungsfähigkeiten evaluiert werden soll. Ausgehend von einem Rahmenmodell, das die Instrumententwicklung in vier zentrale Bereiche untergliedert, wird zunächst das theoretische Konstrukt sachunterrichtlicher Planungskompetenz in Form eines Kompetenzmodells konzeptualisiert. Auf Grundlage eines performanznahen Kompetenzverständnisses erfolgt die Operationalisierung in Form von Qualitätsstandards, durch die das Können der Probanden aus der schriftlichen Bearbeitung von Vignetten inhaltsanalytisch rekonstruiert werden kann. Ein Kodiermanual sichert die Objektivität und formuliert Regeln für die Vergabe von Punkten, durch die mithilfe des dichotomen Raschmodells die individuellen Kompetenzausprägungen geschätzt werden können. Zur Analyse der psychometrischen Qualität des entwickelten Instrumentes wurde eine Pilotierungsstudie mit 106 Studenten durchgeführt. Ein Vergleich konkurrierender Messmodelle mit Methoden der Item-Response-Theorie weist auf Vorteile einer eindimensionalen Modellierung der fokussierten Kompetenz hin. Die Ergebnisse einer durchgeführten Rasch-Analyse sowie die Betrachtung klassischer Kennwerte belegen zudem die Modellkonformität der entwickelten Qualitätsstandards als Items des Testinstrumentes und zeigen, dass die Messung sachunterrichtlicher Planungskompetenz durch das entwickelte Instrument grundsätzlich objektiv, reliabel und valide realisiert werden kann. Dabei kann es vorkommen, dass das dynamische Betriebsverhalten eines Spindelhubantriebs unerwünschte Schwingungen aufweist. Um unerwünschte Betriebszustände bereits vor dem realen Anwendungsfall ersichtlich zu machen, wird im Rahmen dieser Arbeit ein Simulationsmodell von Spindelhubantrieben mit Trapezgewindespindel entwickelt. Dazu wird zunächst recherchiert, welche Schwingungsphänomene in einem Spindelhubantrieb entstehen können. Die Modellbildung wird durch eine Verifikation anhand der identifizierten Schwingphänomene begleitet. Im Anschluss erfolgt eine Validierung des Simulationsmodells durch experimentelle Messungen. Mittels einer Parameterstudie werden Einflussgrößen von zwei Schwingphänomenen analysiert. Positive Einstellungen zu Inklusion gelten als zentraler Erfolgsfaktor für die Entwicklung eines inklusiven Schulsystems. Die vorliegende Studie prüft die Validität dreier gängiger deutschsprachiger Messinstrumente zur Erfassung von Einstellungen zu Inklusion in einer unabhängigen Stichprobe: SACIE, EFI-L und KIESEL. Zur Validierung herangezogene externe Konstrukte sind Selbstwirksamkeit und die Big Five Persönlichkeitsfaktoren. Die Ergebnisse einer Befragung von 556 Lehrkräften und Lehramtsstudierenden (Alter: M‍( SD) = 26.48 (12.67); 70 % weiblich) mit Blick auf die Inklusion von Kindern mit Förderschwerpunkt Lernen (SPF-L) zeigen eine weitgehend gute Replizierbarkeit der Faktorstrukturen der Instrumente. Die Faktorkorrelationen über die Instrumente hinweg lagen zwischen |.61| und |.96| (nur Attitude Subskala des SACIE). Alle Subskalen zeigen vergleichbare Zusammenhänge mit Selbstwirksamkeit und den Big Five Persönlichkeitsfaktoren. For early education, increasingly, the setting of a kindergarten is targeted. However, when cHRI and research are brought into a kindergarten, a range of ethical and related procedural aspects have to be considered and dealt with.While ethical models elaborated within other human–robot interaction settings, e.g., assisted living contexts, can provide some important indicators for relevant issues, we argue that it is important to start developing a systematic approach to identify and tackle those ethical issues which rise with cHRI in kindergarten settings on a more global level and address the impact of the technology from a macroperspective beyond the effects on the individual. Based on our experience in conducting studies with children in general and pedagogical considerations on the role of the institution of kindergarten in specific, in this paper,we enfold some relevant aspects that have barely been addressed in an explicit way in current cHRI research. Four areas are analyzed and key ethical issues are identified in each area: (1) the institutional setting of a kindergarten, (2) children as a vulnerable group, (3) the caregivers’ role, and (4) pedagogical concepts. Because of a limited portable energy budget by e.g. batteries, and more demanding algorithms, an efficient computation is of interest. Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) for example can provide fast and efficient processing and the Robot Operating System (ROS) is a popular middleware used for robotic applications. The novel ReconROS combines version 2 of the Robot Operating System with ReconOS, a framework for integrating reconfigurable hardware. It provides a unified interface between software and hardware. ReconROS is evaluated in this thesis by implementing a Sobel filter as the video processing application, running on a Zynq-7000 series System on Chip. Timing measurements were taken of execution and transfer times and were compared to theoretical values. Designing the hardware implementation is done by C code using High Level Synthesis and with the interface and functionality provided by ReconROS. An important aspect is the publish/subscribe mechanism of ROS. The Operating System interface functions for publishing and subscribing are reasonably fast at below 10 ms for a 1 MB color VGA image. The main memory interface performs well at higher data sizes, crossing 100 MB/s at 20 kB and increasing to a maximum of around 150 MB/s. We aimed to detect state related metabolic alterations during inpatient admission and upon short- and long-term weight regain. In addition, we tested the hypothesis that metabolite concentrations adapt to those of healthy controls (HC) after long-term weight regain. Thirty-five female adolescents with AN and 25 female HC were recruited. Based on a targeted approach 187 metabolite concentrations were detected at inpatient admission (T0), after short-term weight recovery (T1; half of target-weight) and close to target weight (T2). Pattern hunter and time course analysis were performed. The highest number of significant differences in metabolite concentrations (N = 32) were observed between HC and T1. According to the detected main pattern, metabolite concentrations at T2 became more similar to those of HC. The course of single metabolite concentrations (e.g., glutamic acid) revealed different metabolic subtypes within the study sample. Patients with AN after short-term weight regain are in a greater “metabolic imbalance” than at starvation. After long-term weight regain, patients reach a metabolite profile similar to HC. Usually, modular multilevel converters are used in high-voltage DC-applications (HVDC) in the multiple kV-range, but to meet the needs of a high-current demand at low output voltage levels, the modular converter concept requires adaptations. In the proposed concept, the MMC is used to step-down the three-phase medium-voltage of 10kV, and provide up to 1 MW to the load. Therefore, each module is extended by an LLC resonant converter to adapt to the specific electrolyzers DC-voltage range of 142 - 220V and to provide galvanic isolation. The six-arm MMC converter with half-bridge modules can be simplified and optimized by removing three arms, and thus halving the number of modules. In addition, the module voltage ripple and capacitor losses are decreased by 22% and 30% respectively. By rearranging the components of the half-bridge MMC to build a MMC consisting of grid-side full-bridge modules, the voltage ripple is further reduced by 78% and capacitor losses by 64%, while ensuring identical costs and volume for all MMCs. Finally, the LLC resonant converter is designed for the most efficient full-bridge MMC. The LLC can not operate at resonance with a fixed nominal module voltage of 770V because the output voltage is varying between 142 - 220V. By decreasing the module voltage down to 600V, additional points of operation can be operated in resonance, and the remaining are closer to resonance. Forecasting by analogy, forecasting by analytical function fitting, an exponential smoothing forecasting method and the long short-term memory (LSTM) are evaluated and compared against the ground truth data. Current approaches for service coordination are usually centralized, assuming up-to-date global knowledge and making global decisions for all nodes in the network. Such global knowledge and centralized decisions are not realistic in practical large-scale networks. To solve this problem, we propose two algorithms for fully distributed service coordination. The proposed algorithms can be executed individually at each node in parallel and require only very limited global knowledge. We consider two variants, classic one-shot optimization (where our aim is to find at least one solution of high quality) and one-shot regression (where the goal is to fit a model that resembles the true problem as well as possible). For both tasks it seems intuitive that well-distributed samples should perform better than uniform or grid-based samples, since they show a better coverage of the decision space. In practice, quasi-random designs such as Latin Hypercube Samples and low-discrepancy point sets are indeed very commonly used designs for one-shot optimization tasks. We study in this work how well low star discrepancy correlates with performance in one-shot optimization. Our results confirm an advantage of low-discrepancy designs, but also indicate the correlation between discrepancy values and overall performance is rather weak. We then demonstrate that commonly used designs may be far from optimal. More precisely, we evolve 24 very specific designs that each achieve good performance on one of our benchmark problems. Interestingly, we find that these specifically designed samples yield surprisingly good performance across the whole benchmark set. Typically, a clamping tool is pressed on the wire and forced to vibrate at relative high frequency 40 to 100 kHz. The ultrasonic vibration is transmitted through the wire into the interface between wire and substrate. Due to frictional processes, contamination like oxide layers are removed from the contact zone, the surface roughness is reduced, and with increasing bond duration an metallic connection of wire and substrate is established. It is known that the amount of ultrasonic energy over time directly influences the strength and reliability of the bond connection, but the determination of optimum bond parameters is still a challenging experimental task. For this, in the past different model approaches have been presented, to calculate the bond quality by simulation. Measuring the friction between wire and substrate to validate these models is a challenging task at ultrasonic bonding frequency. Therefore a versatile test rig for bonding experiments at frequencies lower than 1 kHz is setup to get detailed insight into the different phases of the connection process. It includes a piezoelectric force sensor for the measurement of the three-dimensional process forces, an electrodynamic shaker for the vibration excitation and a conventional tension-compression testing machine to apply the bond normal force. This is also the case for control problems, where optimal solutions can degrade in quality or even become infeasible. Thus, there is the need to design methods that can handle uncertainty. In this work, we consider nonlinear multi-objective optimal control problems with uncertainty on the initial conditions, and in particular their incorporation into a feedback loop via model predictive control (MPC). In multi-objective optimal control, an optimal compromise between multiple conflicting criteria has to be found. For such problems, not much has been reported in terms of uncertainties. To address this problem class, we design an offline/online framework to compute an approximation of efficient control strategies. This approach is closely related to explicit MPC for nonlinear systems, where the potentially expensive optimization problem is solved in an offline phase in order to enable fast solutions in the online phase. In order to reduce the numerical cost of the offline phase, we exploit symmetries in the control problems. Furthermore, in order to ensure optimality of the solutions, we include an additional online optimization step, which is considerably cheaper than the original multi-objective optimization problem. We test our framework on a car maneuvering problem where safety and speed are the objectives. The multi-objective framework allows for online adaptations of the desired objective. Alternatively, an automatic scalarizing procedure yields very efficient feedback controls. Specifically, we target an essential kernel of the coupled chemistry aerosol-tracer transport model to the Brazilian developments on the regional atmospheric modeling system (CCATT-BRAMS). We focus on a linear solve step using the QR factorization based on the modified Gram-Schmidt method as the basis of the ODE solver in this application. We target Intel hardware accelerator research program (HARP) architecture with the OpenCL programming environment for these early experiments. Our design exploration reveals a hardware design that is up to 4 times faster than the original iterative Jacobi method used in this solver.
