The twin-roll casting of such materials could provide properties not achievable by conventional direct-chill casting and downstream processing methods due to significantly higher solidification rates. An Al-Li-Cu-Mg-Zr alloy was twin-roll cast with the same alloy containing a small addition of Sc. The microstructure of as-cast materials and the influence of Sc on the behavior of the alloy at elevated temperatures were studied by means of light and electron microscopy and by resistivity measurements. A fine-grained structure was formed during twin-roll casting, but several surface and internal defects were found on the strips, which should be suppressed by a further adjustment of the casting conditions. Throughout the last three decades, many cultural heritage institutions have contributed a wealth of digital representations of cultural assets (2D digital reproductions of paintings, sheet music, 3D digital models of sculptures, monuments, rooms, buildings), audio-visual data (music, film, stage performances), and procedural research data such as encoding and annotation formats. The long-term preservation and FAIR availability of research data from the cultural heritage domain is fundamentally important, not only for future academic success in the humanities but also for the cultural identity of individuals and society as a whole. Up to now, no coordinated effort for professional research data management on a national level exists in Germany. NFDI4Culture aims to fill this gap and create a user-centered, research-driven infrastructure that will cover a broad range of research domains from musicology, art history and architecture to performance, theatre, film, and media studies. The research landscape addressed by the consortium is characterized by strong institutional differentiation. Research units in the consortium's community of interest comprise university institutes, art colleges, academies, galleries, libraries, archives and museums. This diverse landscape is also characterized by an abundance of research objects, methodologies and a great potential for data-driven research. In a unique effort carried out by the applicant and co-applicants of this proposal and ten academic societies, this community is interconnected for the first time through a federated approach that is ideally suited to the needs of the participating researchers. To promote collaboration within the NFDI, to share knowledge and technology and to provide extensive support for its users have been the guiding principles of the consortium from the beginning and will be at the heart of all workflows and decision-making processes. Thanks to these principles, NFDI4Culture has gathered strong support ranging from individual researchers to high-level cultural heritage organizations such as the UNESCO, the International Council of Museums, the Open Knowledge Foundation and Wikimedia. On this basis, NFDI4Culture will take innovative measures that promote a cultural change towards a more reflective and sustainable handling of research data and at the same time boost qualification and professionalization in data-driven research in the domain of cultural heritage. Herein, we study the effective nonlinear dielectric response of a stochastic paraelectric-dielectric composite consisting of equilibrium distributions of circular and partially penetrable disks (or parallel, infinitely long, identical, partially penetrable, circular cylinders) of a dielectric phase randomly dispersed in a continuous matrix of a paraelectric phase. The random microstructures were generated using the Metropolis Monte Carlo algorithm. The evaluation of the effective permittivity and tunability were carried out by employing either a Landau thermodynamic model or its Johnson’s approximation to describe the field-dependent permittivity of the paraelectric phase and solving continuum-electrostatics equations using finite element calculations. We reveal that the percolation threshold in this composite governs the critical behavior of the effective permittivity and tunability. For microstructures below the percolation threshold, our simulations demonstrate a strong nonlinear behaviour of the field-dependent effective permittivity and very high tunability that increases as a function of dielectric phase concentration. Above the percolation threshold, the effective permittivity shows the tendency to linearization and the tunability dramatically drops down. The highly reduced permittivity and extraordinarily high tunability are obtained for the composites with dielectric impenetrable disks at high concentrations, in which the triggering of the percolation transition is avoided. However, plasmonic metasurfaces show some severe limitation for nonlinear frequency conversion due to the intrinsic high ohmic loss and low damage threshold of plasmonic nanostructures. Here, the nonlinear geometric‐phases associated with the third‐harmonic generation process occurring in all‐dielectric metasurfaces is studied systematically, which are composed of silicon nanofins with different in‐plane rotational symmetries. It is found that the wave coupling among different field components of the resonant fundamental field gives rise to the appearance of different nonlinear geometric‐phases of the generated third‐harmonic signals. The experimental observations of the nonlinear beam steering and nonlinear holography realized in this work by all‐dielectric geometric‐phase metasurfaces are well explained with the developed theory. Hier bestehen aufgrund der Schichtbauweise Herausforderungen zur Optimierung der Oberflächenqualität. Des Weiteren ist das Ermüdungsverhalten von FDM-Strukturen noch unzureichend erforscht. Mit dem Schwerpunkt auf dem Werkstoff Ultem 9085 sind im Rahmen dieser Dissertation zunächst Nachbehandlungsmethoden zur Verbesserung der Oberflächenqualität analysiert worden. Hier konnten Oberflächenrauheiten durch den Einsatz eines chemischen Nachbehandlungsprozesses um bis zu 80 % reduziert werden. Die dabei als Nebeneffekt erzeugte Schließung der porösen Oberflächenstruktur begünstigte zudem einen anschließenden Metallisierungsprozess zur Veredelung der Oberflächenstruktur. Die Ermüdungseigenschaften fallen für FDM-Strukturen aufgrund der inneren und äußeren Kerben im Vergleich zu spritzgegossenen Substraten vergleichsweise gering aus. Durch Überfüllung der Bau-teile und gezielte Strangorientierungen kann die Lebensdauer insbesondere für seitlich und flach aufgebaute Zugprüfkörper erhöht werden. Most standard-model VRFs rely on admissible hash functions (AHFs) to achieve security against adaptive attacks in the standard model. Known AHF constructions are based on error-correcting codes, which yield asymptotically efficient constructions. However, previous works do not clarify how the code should be instantiated concretely in the real world. The rate and the minimal distance of the selected code have significant impact on the efficiency of the resulting cryptosystem, therefore it is unclear if and how the aforementioned constructions can be used in practice. First, we explain inherent limitations of code-based AHFs. Concretely, we assume that even if we were given codes that achieve the well-known Gilbert-Varshamov or McEliece-Rodemich-Rumsey-Welch bounds, existing AHF-based constructions of verifiable random functions (VRFs) can only be instantiated quite inefficiently. Then we introduce and construct computational AHFs (cAHFs). While classical AHFs are information-theoretic, and therefore work even in presence of computationally unbounded adversaries, cAHFs provide only security against computationally bounded adversaries. However, we show that cAHFs can be instantiated significantly more efficiently. Indeed, [Ambainis, CCC 2014] showed that APX-SIM is P^QMA[log]-complete, for P^QMA[log] the class of languages decidable by a P machine making a logarithmic number of adaptive queries to a QMA oracle. In this work, we show that APX-SIM is P^QMA[log]-complete even when restricted to more physical Hamiltonians, obtaining as intermediate steps a variety of related complexity-theoretic results. We first give a sequence of results which together yield P^QMA[log]-hardness for APX-SIM on well-motivated Hamiltonians: (1) We show that for NP, StoqMA, and QMA oracles, a logarithmic number of adaptive queries is equivalent to polynomially many parallel queries. These equalities simplify the proofs of our subsequent results. (2) Next, we show that the hardness of APX-SIM is preserved under Hamiltonian simulations (a la [Cubitt, Montanaro, Piddock, 2017]). As a byproduct, we obtain a full complexity classification of APX-SIM, showing it is complete for P, P^||NP, P^||StoqMA, or P^||QMA depending on the Hamiltonians employed. (3) Leveraging the above, we show that APX-SIM is P^QMA[log]-complete for any family of Hamiltonians which can efficiently simulate spatially sparse Hamiltonians, including physically motivated models such as the 2D Heisenberg model. Our second focus considers 1D systems: We show that APX-SIM remains P^QMA[log]-complete even for local Hamiltonians on a 1D line of 8-dimensional qudits. Die in der vor-liegenden Arbeit untersuchte Parameter- und Prozessoptimierung liefert einen Beitrag zur wirtschaftlichen Nutzung des L-PBF und zeigt, dass höhere Aufbauraten bei der ganzheit-lichen Betrachtung des Prozesses realisierbar sind. Die Parameter- und Prozessoptimierung erfordert eine Untersuchung des Einflusses der Fertigungs- und Nachbearbeitungsparameter auf das erzeugte Volumen sowie auf die Mikrostruktur und die resultierenden Materialeigenschaften. Das Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit ist die Entwicklung einer optimierten Prozessführung mit abschließender Bewer-tung der Wirtschaftlichkeit. Mit dem entwickelten Gesamtprozess wird eine um den Faktor 1,6 höhere Aufbaurate erzielt. Des Weiteren wird die Methodik zur Erarbeitung des opti-mierten Prozessfensters beschrieben, sodass die Herangehensweise auf weitere Werk-stoffe angewendet werden kann. Die mechanischen Eigenschaften werden für den stati-schen und dynamischen Lastfall untersucht und mit der Mikrostruktur korreliert. Abschlie-ßend wird die Prozessoptimierung zur Fertigung eines Demonstrators eingesetzt und wirtschaftlich validiert. The challenge with such problems, however, is that the dimensions of the solution sets—the so-called Pareto sets and fronts—grow with the number of objectives. It is thus no longer possible to compute or to approximate the entire solution set of a given problem that contains many (e.g. more than three) objectives. On the other hand, the computation of single solutions (e.g. via scalarization methods) leads to unsatisfying results in many cases, even if user preferences are incorporated. In this article, the Pareto Explorer tool is presented—a global/local exploration tool for the treatment of many-objective optimization problems (MaOPs). In the first step, a solution of the problem is computed via a global search algorithm that ideally already includes user preferences. In the second step, a local search along the Pareto set/front of the given MaOP is performed in user specified directions. For this, several continuation-like procedures are proposed that can incorporate preferences defined in decision, objective, or in weight space. Die Relevanz von Peers für die Entwicklung von Jugendlichen konnte in verschiedenen Studien bereits bestätigt werden. Im Unterricht zeigt sich dies u.a. durch höhere situative Motivation und Freude sowie geringerem Stressempfinden während sozialer Interaktionen mit Mitschülerinnen und -schülern verglichen mit Einzelarbeitssituationen. Allerdings stellte sich auch heraus, dass Jugendliche mit Verhaltensauffälligkeiten Schwierigkeiten im Knüpfen und Aufrechterhalten von sozialen Kontakten und Freundschaften haben. Während in bisherigen Studien Verhalten als dichotome Variable untersucht wurde, wird hier ein dimensionaler, personzentrierter Ansatz zur Identifizierung von Gruppen mit heterogenen Verhaltensweisen verfolgt. Ziel dieses Beitrags ist daher die Untersuchung von Effekten sozialer Interaktionen im Unterricht auf das emotionale Erleben von Jugendlichen mit heterogenen Verhaltensweisen. Zudem wird ein möglicher Moderationseffekt der Klassenkomposition in Bezug auf das Verhalten überprüft. Hierzu wurden N = 719 Schülerinnen und Schülern der fünften und sechsten Jahrgangsstufe unter Verwendung der experience sampling method zu zwei bis drei Messzeitpunkten pro Tag an fünf aufeinanderfolgenden Schultagen zu ihrem aktuellen emotionalen Erleben und ihrem sozialen Kontext befragt. Insgesamt lagen 8870 „Momentaufnahmen“ des emotionalen Erlebens und von Unterrichtssituationen vor. Auf der Grundlage von Verhaltenseinschätzungen durch Lehrpersonen wurden mittels latenter Profilanalysen drei Profiltypen innerhalb der Schülerschaft identifiziert: Jugendliche mit adaptivem, internalisierendem und externalisierendem Verhalten. Ergebnisse von Multilevel-Strukturgleichungsmodellen zeigen, dass Jugendliche in Unterrichtssituationen, in denen sie mit ihren Peers interagieren (z.B. in Partner- oder Gruppenarbeiten), motivierter und weniger gestresst sind als in Einzelsituationen. Für Jugendliche mit externalisierendem oder internalisierendem Verhalten ist dieser Effekt stärker ausgeprägt. Die geringfügigen, jedoch nicht signifikanten differenziellen moderierenden Effekte verweisen zudem darauf, dass der Zusammenhang des emotionalen Erlebens und der Peerinteraktionen für Jugendliche nicht durch ihr Klassenumfeld in Bezug auf prosoziales oder problematisches Verhalten moderiert wird. Each alteration provides significant advantages under certain problem properties, e.g., multi-modality, high conditioning. These distinct advancements are implemented as modules which result in 4608 unique versions of CMA-ES. Previous findings illustrate the competitive advantage of enabling and disabling the aforementioned modules for different optimization problems. Yet, this modular CMA-ES is lacking a method to automatically determine when the activation of specific modules is auspicious and when it is not. We propose a well-performing instance-specific algorithm configuration model which selects an (almost) optimal configuration of modules for a given problem instance. In addition, the structure of this configuration model is able to capture inter-dependencies between modules, e.g., two (or more) modules might only be advantageous in unison for some problem types, making the orchestration of modules a crucial task.
