VAs can increase the success of teamwork and thus become an integral part of the daily work life. However, the effect of VAs on virtual teams remains unclear. While social identity theory describes the identification of employees with team members and the continued existence of a group identity, the concept of the extended self refers to the incorporation of possessions into one’s sense of self. This raises the question of which approach applies to VAs as teammates. The article extends the IS literature by examining the impact of VAs on individuals and teams and updates the knowledge on social identity and the extended self by deploying VAs in a collaborative setting. Using a laboratory experiment with N = 50, two groups were compared in solving a task, where one group was assisted by a VA, while the other was supported by a person. Results highlight that employees who identify VAs as part of their extended self are more likely to identify with team members and vice versa. The two aspects are thus combined into the proposed construct of virtually extended identification explaining the relationships of collaboration with VAs. This study contributes to the understanding on the influence of the extended self and social identity on collaboration with VAs. We gathered data from a survey of 89 students enrolled in a ‘Linear Algebra 1’ course including affective variables, learning strategies, social relatedness and resources considered useful. The results indicate students’ high effort and self-regulation and a high variation in affective characteristics and social relatedness. All the traditional aspects of mathematics teaching (lecture, tutorials and lecture notes) were rated as particularly useful. In addition, the videos from external resources were rated as equally useful as the teaching team’s videos. In contrast, traditional literature such as textbooks was rarely considered useful. The most useful resource rated was communication with peers, underlining the important role of social learning despite fully digital learning environments. Finally, a cluster analysis based on students’ rated usefulness of the resources led to three different user-types. Whereas the ‘digitals’ find the external digital resources very useful (videos, webpages, etc.), the ‘traditionalists’ rate the digitalized traditional resources best (lecture, tutorials, etc.). The bandgaps determined via the electrochemical approach are in good agreement with the optical bandgap obtained from the absorption spectra via a Tauc plot. In addition, absorption spectra in dependence of the electrochemical potential were the basis for extensive quantum-chemical calculations of the neutral, monoanionic, and dianionic molecules. For this purpose, calculations based on density functional theory were compared with post-Hartree–Fock methods and the CAM-B3LYP functional proved to be the most reliable choice for the calculation of absorption spectra. Furthermore, spectral features found experimentally could be reproduced with vibronic calculations and allowed to understand their origins. Although DOX has been widely studied, the existing literature of DOX-loaded DNA-carriers remains limited and incoherent. Here, based on an in-depth spectroscopic analysis, we characterize and optimize the DOX loading into different 2D and 3D scaffolded DNA origami nanostructures (DONs). In our experimental conditions, all DONs show similar DOX binding capacities (one DOX molecule per two to three base pairs), and the binding equilibrium is reached within seconds, remarkably faster than previously acknowledged. To characterize drug release profiles, DON degradation and DOX release from the complexes upon DNase I digestion was studied. For the employed DONs, the relative doses (DOX molecules released per unit time) may vary by two orders of magnitude depending on the DON superstructure. In addition, we identify DOX aggregation mechanisms and spectral changes linked to pH, magnesium, and DOX concentration. These features have been largely ignored in experimenting with DNA nanostructures, but are probably the major sources of the incoherence of the experimental results so far. The traffic state estimation is based on limited data of different measurement sources and guarantees general accordance of reality and simulation in terms of multimodal road traffic counts and vehicle speeds. The research is embedded in the challenge of improving the traffic by controlling the traffic light systems (TLS) of the examined area. Therefore, the current traffic state and the predicted route choices of individual road users are the matter of interest. The concept is generally transferable to any road traffic system. A public verification key and proofs accompanying the output enable all parties to verify the correctness of the output. How- ever, all known standard model VRFs have a reduction loss that is much worse than what one would expect from known optimal constructions of closely related primitives like unique signatures. We show that: 1. Every security proof for a VRF that relies on a non-interactive assumption has to lose a factor of Q, where Q is the number of adver- sarial queries. To that end, we extend the meta-reduction technique of Bader et al. (EUROCRYPT’16) to also cover VRFs. 2. This raises the question: Is this bound optimal? We answer this ques- tion in the affirmative by presenting the first VRF with a reduction from the non-interactive qDBDHI assumption to the security of VRF that achieves this optimal loss. We thus paint a complete picture of the achievability of tight verifiable random functions: We show that a security loss of Q is unavoidable and present the first construction that achieves this bound.}}, author = {{Niehues, David}}, booktitle = {{Public-Key Cryptography – PKC 2021}}, isbn = {{9783030752477}}, issn = {{0302-9743}}, title = {{{Verifiable Random Functions with Optimal Tightness}}}, doi = {{10.1007/978-3-030-75248-4_3}}, year = {{2021}}, } @misc{42315, author = {{N., N.}}, publisher = {{Universität Paderborn}}, title = {{{Versionisierung von Serviceleistungen auf Videoplattformen}}}, year = {{2021}}, } @article{50804, author = {{Kiepe, Karina and Gallas, Ricarda and Rüdebusch, Gerrit}}, journal = {{Berufsbildung in Wissenschaft und Praxis}}, number = {{3}}, pages = {{30--31}}, title = {{{Verstetigung eines Fortbildungsansatzes zu nachhaltigem Wirtschaften und Ausbilden}}}, volume = {{50 (3)}}, year = {{2021}}, } @article{41466, author = {{Pinsch, Jan Christian}}, journal = {{Paderborner Historische Mitteilungen}}, pages = {{38 -- 53}}, title = {{{Viel Lärm um die Stille. Mixed regression models were used to analyze the relationship between 25(OH)D levels and depressive symptoms assessed by the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-II). Levels of 25(OH)D were neither cross-sectionally, prospectively, nor longitudinally associated with the BDI-II score. The unidimensional agentic stereotype of these work contexts signals agentic job and organizational requirements (stereotypically male qualities such as achievement orientation), although the actual requirements usually also include communality (stereotypically female qualities such as interpersonal skills). In five experiments, we investigate the relevance of perceived applicant agency for perceived applicant fit, the influence of recruitment material, contextual differences, and the role of applicant gender. Our findings indicate that perceived applicant agency drives perceived person‐job and person‐organization fit in strictly male stereotyped work contexts, regardless of gender, and agentic recruitment material enhances this effect. Contrasting different contexts (high‐ with low‐status jobs and a male‐dominated with a gender‐balanced and female‐dominated field) revealed that the relevance of perceived agency increases with perceived job status, and the relevance of perceived communality decreases with the expected share of men. Although women were perceived as highly agentic in strictly male stereotyped work contexts, their need to be perceived as agentic also was higher than for men, due to the perceived lack of fit between women and high‐status jobs.}}, author = {{Dutz, Regina and Hubner-Benz, Sylvia and Peus, Claudia}}, issn = {{0031-5826}}, journal = {{Personnel Psychology}}, keywords = {{Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management, Applied Psychology}}, number = {{2}}, pages = {{441--483}}, publisher = {{Wiley}}, title = {{{When agency “fits” regardless of gender: Perceptions of applicant fit when job and organization signal male stereotypes}}}, doi = {{10.1111/peps.12470}}, volume = {{75}}, year = {{2021}}, } @inproceedings{48286, author = {{Habernal, Ivan}}, booktitle = {{Proceedings of the 2021 Conference on Empirical Methods in Natural Language Processing}}, publisher = {{Association for Computational Linguistics}}, title = {{{When differential privacy meets NLP: The devil is in the detail}}}, doi = {{10.18653/v1/2021.emnlp-main.114}}, year = {{2021}}, } @article{36065, author = {{Flagmeier, Vanessa and Müller, Jens and Sureth-Sloane, Caren}}, issn = {{0001-4788}}, journal = {{Accounting and Business Research}}, keywords = {{Accounting, Finance}}, number = {{1}}, pages = {{1--37}}, publisher = {{Informa UK Limited}}, title = {{{When do firms highlight their effective tax rate?}}}, doi = {{10.1080/00014788.2021.1958669}}, volume = {{53}}, year = {{2021}}, } @inbook{29356, author = {{Bernaerts, Lars and Mildorf, Jarmila}}, booktitle = {{Audionarratology: Lessons from Radio Drama}}, editor = {{Bernaerts, Lars and Mildorf, Jarmila}}, isbn = {{978-0-8142-1472-5}}, pages = {{1--13}}, publisher = {{Ohio State University Press}}, title = {{{When Sounds Make Stories: Lessons for Narrative Theory from the Study of Radio Drama}}}, year = {{2021}}, } @article{33643, abstract = {{The origin of strong interactions between water molecules and porous C2N surfaces is investigated by using a combination of model materials, volumetric physisorption measurements, solid-state NMR spectroscopy, and DFT calculations.}}, author = {{Heske, Julian Joachim and Walczak, Ralf and Epping, Jan D. and Youk, Sol and Sahoo, Sudhir K. and Antonietti, Markus and Kühne, Thomas and Oschatz, Martin}}, issn = {{2050-7488}}, journal = {{Journal of Materials Chemistry A}}, keywords = {{General Materials Science, Renewable Energy, Sustainability and the Environment, General Chemistry}}, number = {{39}}, pages = {{22563--22572}}, publisher = {{Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC)}}, title = {{{When water becomes an integral part of carbon – combining theory and experiment to understand the zeolite-like water adsorption properties of porous C2N materials}}}, doi = {{10.1039/d1ta05122a}}, volume = {{9}}, year = {{2021}}, } @article{20844, abstract = {{Review papers are essential for knowledge development in IS. However, surface oxidation leads to an overall high density of defect levels in conjunction with a considerable net surface dipole, which persists even after oxide removal. Yet, a subsequent annealing under vacuum restores the initial condition. Such oxidation/reduction cycles are reversible for many times providing robust control of the surface and interface properties in these materials. Based on ab initio simulations, a mechanism where oxygen dissociatively adsorbs and subsequently diffuses to a subsurface site is proposed as the initial step of the observed dipole formation.
