In most of these countries, several national surveys on MLSCs exist. They give an overview of the number of MLSCs as well as their characteristics in these countries. In Germany, there is a lack of studies on MLSCs and the landscape of MLSCs has not been described yet. This article presents basic information concerning counts of MLSCs and their characteristics at universities. Based on a three-step approach of analysing university homepages and additional personal contact via email or phone calls, we gathered typical MLSC features (e.g. staff quantities and qualification, opening and support hours, supported study programmes). We analysed 190 universities from a web-based register on study programmes. In total, we found 61 MLSCs located at 51 German universities. Another 16 support centres were specialized on mathematics didactics, which means they focussed on didactical and methodological support for preservice teacher students and often provided different teaching materials. Thirty-eight centres were located at universities (62.3%) and 23 MLSCs at universities of applied sciences and comparable universities (37.7%). The MLSCs were different in their sizes of staff and opening hours, and both the numbers of staff and the service hours differed greatly. The student groups MLSCs at German universities focus on differ concerning characteristics like study programme or semester. We will provide the main categories describing these groups. We seek to answer research questions concerning the characteristics of MLSCs in Germany and discuss the results compared to international findings. This information is useful for further international collaborative research, for example a standardized international survey. From a national perspective, these findings support networking and collaborations between the MLSCs as well. TRR 266 Accounting for Transparency Working Paper Series, 2020."},"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"abstract":[{"lang":"eng","text":"This paper introduces an index that comprehensively measures the complexity of countries’ corporate income tax systems faced by multinational corporations. It builds on surveys of highly experienced tax consultants of the largest international tax services networks. The index, called the Tax Complexity Index (TCI), is composed of a tax code subindex covering tax regulations and a tax framework subindex covering tax processes and features. For a sample of 100 countries, we find that tax complexity varies considerably across countries, and tax code and framework complexity also vary within countries. Among others, tax complexity is strongly driven by the complexity of transfer pricing regulations in the tax code and tax audits in the tax framework. When analyzing the associations with other country characteristics, we identify different patterns. For example, with regard to GDP, we find a positive association with tax code complexity and a negative association with tax framework complexity, suggesting that highly economically developed countries tend to have more complex tax codes and less complex frameworks. \r\nMETHOD: Sixteen participants (6 females) were tested in two mental body-rotation tasks (MBRT), requiring either an object-based spatial transformation (based on a same-different judgment) or an egocentric transformation (based on a left-right judgment) in a sitting and in a standing posture. Reaction times and response errors were analysed in two three-way ANOVAs, with the factors orientation, task, and posture.
\r\nRESULTS: Results revealed an effect of orientation and task, indicating that participants performed better for egocentric than for object-based transformations. However, there was no effect of posture.

Thus, instructions should be presented in a way that enables fast and errorless information processing. High affordances in visual–spatial transformation (e.g., mental rotation processes) might both impede information processing and decrease execution performance. The aim of this study was to scrutinize the effect of different orientations of visual tactical displays on observation time under self-paced conditions as well as to compare the effects on execution performance to those of externally paced conditions. According to the self-determination theory, self-control over observation time is assumed to increase performance.MethodsIn a mixed-factors design with two factors, 48 participants were instructed to execute a basketball playing pattern, which was presented on a virtual tactic board in one of five different spatial disparities to the players’ on-court perspective. The Self-Paced Group determined the observation time in a self-controlled manner, whereas in the Yoked Group observation times were externally controlled, i.e., the observation time was constrained to match that of the Self-Paced Group..ResultsThe self-controlled time for watching the pattern before execution was significantly shorter and spatial accuracy in pattern execution was significantly higher for low disparity between instruction perspective and on-court perspective. Hieraus resultieren die Zielsetzungen, die mechanischen Fügeverfahren in ihrer Effizienz und ihren Einsatzbereichen zu erweitern, sowie die Anzahl der Experimente zu reduzieren und Entwicklungszyklen zu verkürzen. Dies erfolgt mit Unterstützung der numerischen Simulation. Neben der Beschreibung des plastischen Verhaltens gilt es auch, das Schädigungsverhalten abzubilden.\r\n\r\nDer Fügeprozess bzw. die Fügerichtung erfolgt senkrecht zur Blechoberfläche und führt somit zu einem dreidimensionalen Zustand der Fügelemente. Hieraus leitet sich die Herausforderung ab, das Werkstoffversagen in Abhängigkeit der Beanspruchungssituation zu beschreiben. Ein einfacher Ansatz zur Abbildung des Durchdringens ist ein geometrisches Trennkriterium.\r\n\r\nEin solches Kriterium basiert i.d.R. auf einem experimentell beobachteten Verhalten und ist somit nicht prognosefähig für Variationen bzgl. Werkzeugkonfigurationen, Blechdicken- und Werkstoffgüten-Kombinationen. In diesem Projekt wird das Schädigungsmodell GISSMO (Generalized Incremental Stress State dependent damage Model) verwendet, um die Entwicklung der duktilen Schädigung zu beschreiben und den Bruchbeginn während des Stanzniet- und Schneidclinchens vorherzusagen.\r\n\r\nDer Spannungszustand während der Prozesssimulation wird untersucht und die verschiedenen Schädigungsproben werden experimentell erprobt, um die Versagenskurven zu charakterisieren. Die Versagenskurven werden im Schädigungsmodell GISSMO definiert. Um die Genauigkeit des Modells zu gewährleisten, wird die Verifizierung des Modells durch die Simulation von Schädigungsproben mit dem Schädigungsmodell durchgeführt.\r\n\r\nZur Validierung des Modells wird die Simulation des Fügeprozesses mit dem Schädigungsmodell durchgeführt und die Ergebnisse von Simulation und Experiment verglichen. To enhance the mechanical joining processes in their efficiency, numerical simulation can be used as an effective tool to reduce the number of experiments and shorten the product development cycles. In addition to the description of the plasticity, the damage and the failure behavior of material must also be taken into account.\r\n\r\nIn self-pierce riveting simulations, the rivet penetrates perpendicular into the sheet surface and produces a three-dimensional stress state. Hence, it is essential to describe the material failure as a function of a three-dimensional stress state.\r\n\r\nA simple approach to describe the separation of upper sheet in the simulation of the joining process is based on a geometric separation criterion. Such a criterion is not predictive und cannot be used in case of variations in tool configurations, sheet thickness, and material combinations.\r\n\r\nIn this project, the damage model GISSMO (Generalized Incremental Stress State dependent damage Model) is used to describe the evolution of ductile damage and predict the onset of fracture during the self-piercing riveting and shear-clinching.\r\n\r\nThe stress state during the process simulation is studied and the variety of damage specimens are experimental examined to characterize the failure curves. To ensure the accuracy of the model, the verification of the model using simulation of damage specimens with damage model is performed.\r\n\r\nFor the validation of model, the simulation of the joining process using the damage model is carried out and the results of simulation and experiment are compared. Conversion efficiencies as a function of load have been measured indoors with high \r\naccuracy and ranked according to Euro- and CEC weightings. Energy yields have been measured outdoors via \r\nidentical and calibrated crystalline silicon PV modules of 215 Wp each. Inverters with two inputs have been fed by \r\ntwo of those modules. DC input, AC power output and energy yield of each micro-inverter have been recorded by \r\nindividual calibrated electricity meters. Apparently, some inverters have been optimized for high irradiance levels \r\nand ranked better at the CEC efficiency ranking, others performed very well also at low irradiance levels, thus \r\nranking higher at in the EU efficiency ranking. Efficiency ranks are slightly deviating from rankings by energy yield \r\nmeasurements. At one inverter, a slow MPPT algorithm that barely could follow quickly changing irradiance levels is \r\nmost probably responsible for this effect. Another inverter switched off for a while after operation at high power, \r\nanother one failed permanently. Apparently, some inverters are been optimized to show excellent datasheet ratings \r\nfor EU- or CEC- efficiency. On the other hand, two inverters (each featuring two inputs) did not show an outstanding \r\nperformance at the EU- and CEC-ratings but achieved leading ranks for AC energy yields. Build a compact data structure for G and a given set S ⊆ V of vertices that, on receiving any edge (x,y) ∈ S×S of positive capacity as query input, can efficiently report the set of all pairs from S× S whose mincut value increases upon insertion of the edge (x,y) to G. The only result that exists for this problem is for a single pair of vertices (Picard and Queyranne, Mathematical Programming Study, 13 (1980), 8-16). We present the following results for the single source and the all-pairs versions of this problem. \r\n1) Single source: Given any designated source vertex s, there exists a data structure of size 𝒪(|S|) that can output all those vertices from S whose mincut value to s increases upon insertion of any given edge. The time taken by the data structure to answer any query is 𝒪(|S|). \r\n2) All-pairs: There exists an 𝒪(|S|²) size data structure that can output all those pairs of vertices from S× S whose mincut value gets increased upon insertion of any given edge. The time taken by the data structure to answer any query is 𝒪(k), where k is the number of pairs of vertices whose mincut increases. \r\nFor both these versions, we also address the problem of reporting the values of the mincuts upon insertion of any given edge. To derive our results, we use interesting insights into the nearest and the farthest mincuts for a pair of vertices. In addition, a crucial result, that we establish and use in our data structures, is that there exists a directed acyclic graph of 𝒪(n) size that compactly stores the farthest mincuts from all vertices of V to a designated vertex s in the graph. We believe that this result is of independent interest, especially, because it also complements a previously existing result by Hariharan et al. (STOC 2007) that the nearest mincuts from all vertices of V to s is a laminar family, and hence, can be stored compactly in a tree of 𝒪(n) size.","lang":"eng"}],"user_id":"39241","page":"12:1-12:14","type":"conference","year":"2020","citation":{"ieee":"S.
