text: "
Abstract
\r\n
Numerous organic
transformations are based on the use of stoichiometric amounts of phosphorus reagents.
The formation of phosphane oxides from phosphanes is usually the thermodynamic
driving force for these reactions. The stoichiometric amounts of phosphane oxide
which are formed as by-products often significantly hamper the product purification.
Organophosphorus catalysis based on P(III)/P(V) redox cycling aims to address
these problems. Herein we present our recent advances in developing catalytic
Wittig-type reactions. More specifically, we reported our results on catalytic
Wittig reactions based on readily available Bu3P=O as pre-catalyst
as well as the first microwave-assisted version of this reaction and the first
enantioselective catalytic Wittig reaction utilizing chiral phosphane catalysts.
Further developments led to the implementation of catalytic base-free Wittig reactions
yielding highly functionalized alkylidene and arylidene succinates.
"

text: The article discusses possibilities and specific problems of including audio
material in the realm of scholarly music editions. From this perspective, the
authors propose to include the sounding manifestation of music both into the notion
of the musical ‚work‘ and of the musical ‚text‘. The outcome of this thought experiment
which considers music as performative art, Beethoven’s and other classical composers’
own wider notions of musical works as musical practice, phonographic recordings
as text, different types of music as different types of data, programmed concordances
as specific feature of digital editions, and musical interpreters as authors of
musical interpretations is a theoretical model that for the first time makes record
productions the object of scholarly critical edition.

In diesem

text: In pre-service teacher education programs prospective physics teachers should
acquire professional knowledge that enables them to carry out effective instruction.
However, there is little empirical evidence with regard to the development of
professional knowledge in the courses of their studies - it is even unclear what
knowledge has an impact on teaching quality. In order to be able to analyse these
questions, instruments must be developed that permit a valid interpretation of
tests cores. Based on instruments developed in project Profile-P+, this article
presents a validity argument for the interpretation of test scores for the development
of pre-service physics teachers' professional knowledge during a bachelor degree
program. The authors also develop validity arguments for the interpretation of
tests cores for the development of their skills to plan and reflect on physics
lessons and to explain physics during teaching practice. In addition to knowledge
tests, standardized performance tests were used. The results of the analysis suggest
that the measured values can be interpreted in the intended sense. (DIPF/Orig.)

text: "Creativity is perceived to be one of the core competences to succeed in the
modern world. It is\r\nconnected to art, music, dancing, etc., but there is just
little insight into the role of creativity in\r\nscience. As data analysis plays
a major role in science, creative thinking has to be used to form\r\ntheories
out of observations. This study uses models-of-data to represent the mental model
of\r\nthe students. Within models-of-data different observations and previous
knowledge are linked\r\nthrough different types of links, e.g. causal links. The
goal of this study was to examine the\r\ncreative aspect of data evaluation in
presence of anomalous data. The students were confronted\r\nwith two experiments
which contradicted each other with regard to the underlying theory.\r\nAfterwards
the students were asked to decide about their favored theory and reasoning about\r\ntheir
choice in their lab reports. The model-of-data, which was reconstructed from the
lab\r\nreports of the students, was used to extract creative aspects in the mental
modelling process.\r\nFurthermore, a pre-post-questionnaire on epistemological
beliefs of the students was\r\nconducted. Students mostly acquired an unscientific
view on epistemology in school. The\r\nquestion was whether the confrontation
with anomalous data and the triggering of creative\r\nmodelling processes have
any influence on this.\r\nThe results show that most students did not take anomalous
data into account in their modelling\r\nprocesses. They did either not recognise
or just ignore the data. Just a few students worked on\r\ntheir theory because
of the new, contradictory data. The students working on their theory\r\nscored
higher in the post-questionnaire, so a positive effect of creativity on scientific\r\nepistemology
can be assumed. Thus, creativity obviously gets a part of science and should be\r\ntaught
in school science in order to make students aware of their own creative potential."

text: "Spontaneous formation of transverse patterns is ubiquitous in nonlinear\r\ndynamical
systems of all kinds. An aspect of particular interest is the active\r\ncontrol
of such patterns. In nonlinear optical systems this can be used for\r\nall-optical
switching with transistor-like performance, for example realized\r\nwith polaritons
in a planar quantum-well semiconductor microcavity. Here we\r\nfocus on a specific
configuration which takes advantage of the intricate\r\npolarization dependencies
in the interacting optically driven polariton system.\r\nBesides detailed numerical
simulations of the coupled light-field exciton\r\ndynamics, in the present paper
we focus on the derivation of a simplified\r\npopulation competition model giving
detailed insight into the underlying\r\nmechanisms from a nonlinear dynamical
systems perspective. We show that such a\r\nmodel takes the form of a generalized
Lotka-Volterra system for two competing\r\npopulations explicitly including a
source term that enables external control.\r\nWe present a comprehensive analysis
both of the existence and stability of\r\nstationary states in the parameter space
spanned by spatial anisotropy and\r\nexternal control strength. We also construct
phase boundaries in non-trivial\r\nregions and characterize emerging bifurcations.
The population competition\r\nmodel reproduces all key features of the switching
observed in full numerical\r\nsimulations of the rather complex semiconductor
system and at the same time is\r\nsimple enough for a fully analytical understanding
of the system dynamics."

doping in conjugated polymers is a crucial process for their application in organic\r\nphotovoltaics
and optoelectronics. In the present work we theoretically investigate p-type molecu-\r\nlar
doping in a series of (poly[2,6-(4,4-bis(2-ethylhexyl)-4H-cyclopenta[2,1-b;3,4-b”]dithiophene)-alt-\r\n4,7-(2,1,3-benzothiadiazole)]
(PCPDT-BT) conjugated oligomers with different lengths and three\r\nwidely-used
dopants with different electron affinities, namely F4TCNQ, F6TCNNQ, and CN6-CP.\r\nWe
study in detail the molecular geometry of possible oligomer-dopant complexes and
its influence\r\non the doping mechanisms and electronic system properties. We
find that the mechanisms of dop-\r\ning and charge transfer observed sensitively
depend on the specific geometry of the oligomer-dopant\r\ncomplexes. For a given
complex different geometries may exist, some of which show transfer of\r\nan entire
electron from the oligomer chain onto the dopant molecule resulting in an integer-charge\r\ntransfer
complex, leaving the system in a ground state with broken spin symmetry. In other
ge-\r\nometries merely hybridization of oligomer and dopant frontier orbitals
occurs with partial charge\r\ntransfer but spin-symmetric ground state. Considering
the resulting electronic density of states both\r\ncases may well contribute to
an increased electrical conductivity of corresponding film samples while\r\nthe
underlying physical mechanisms are entirely different.\r\n</p>\r\n\t\t\t\t</div>\r\n\t\t\t</div>\r\n\t\t</div>
"
