Such structures can be fabricated through epitaxial lift-off using selective etching of Al-containing layers and subsequent transfer to glass substrates. Herein, the selective etching of (111)B-oriented AlxGa1−xAs sacrificial layers (10–50 nm thick) with different aluminum concentrations (x = 0.5–1.0) in 10\\% hydrofluoric acid is investigated and compared with standard (100)-oriented structures. The thinner the sacrificial layer and the lower the aluminum content, the lower the lateral etch rate. For both orientations, the lateral etch rates are in the same order of magnitude, but some quantitative differences exist. Furthermore, the epitaxial lift-off, the transfer, and the nanopatterning of thin (111)B-oriented GaAs membranes are demonstrated. Atomic force microscopy and high-resolution X-ray diffraction measurements reveal the high structural quality of the transferred GaAs-(111) films.","lang":"eng"}],"publication":"physica status solidi (a)","issue":"3"},{"date_created":"2020-12-02T13:05:37Z","type":"conference","department":[{"_id":"157"}],"publication":"10. Coordinating these services\r\nrequires scaling them according to continuously changing user\r\ndemand, deploying instances at the edge close to their users,\r\nand routing traffic efficiently between users and connected instances.\r\nNetwork and service coordination is commonly addressed\r\nthrough centralized approaches, where a single coordinator\r\nknows everything and coordinates the entire network globally.\r\nWhile such centralized approaches can reach global optima, they\r\ndo not scale to large, realistic networks. In contrast, distributed\r\napproaches scale well, but sacrifice solution quality due to their\r\nlimited scope of knowledge and coordination decisions.\r\n\r\nTo this end, we propose a hierarchical coordination approach\r\nthat combines the good solution quality of centralized approaches\r\nwith the scalability of distributed approaches. In doing so, we divide\r\nthe network into multiple hierarchical domains and optimize\r\ncoordination in a top-down manner. We compare our hierarchical\r\nwith a centralized approach in an extensive evaluation on a real-world\r\nnetwork topology. Our results indicate that hierarchical\r\ncoordination can find close-to-optimal solutions in a fraction of\r\nthe runtime of centralized approaches."}],"date_created":"2020-12-11T08:39:47Z","file":[{"file_name":"preprint_with_header.pdf","file_size":7979772,"access_level":"open_access","relation":"main_file","date_updated":"2020-12-11T08:37:37Z","file_id":"20694","content_type":"application/pdf","title":"Divide and Conquer: Hierarchical Network and Service Coordination","creator":"stschn","date_created":"2020-12-11T08:37:37Z"}],"department":[{"_id":"75"}],"keyword":["network management","service management","coordination","hierarchical","scalability","nfv"],"type":"conference","conference":{"name":"IFIP/IEEE International Symposium on Integrated Network Management (IM)","location":"Bordeaux, France"},"status":"public","has_accepted_license":"1","_id":"20693","publisher":"IFIP/IEEE","ddc":["006"],"user_id":"35343","citation":{"chicago":"Schneider, Stefan Balthasar, Mirko Jürgens, and Holger Karl. “Divide and Conquer: Hierarchical Network and Service Coordination.” In IFIP/IEEE International Symposium on Integrated Network Management (IM). Metrics such as ECT, RNSB, and WEAT quantify bias in these models based on predefined word lists representing social groups and bias-conveying concepts. How suitable these lists actually are to reveal bias - let alone the bias metrics in general - remains unclear, though. In this paper, we study how to assess the quality of bias metrics for word embedding models. In particular, we present a generic method, Bias Silhouette Analysis (BSA), that quantifies the accuracy and robustness of such a metric and of the word lists used. Given a biased and an unbiased reference embedding model, BSA applies the metric systematically for several subsets of the lists to the models. The variance and rate of convergence of the bias values of each model then entail the robustness of the word lists, whereas the distance between the models' values gives indications of the general accuracy of the metric with the word lists. We demonstrate the behavior of BSA on two standard embedding models for the three mentioned metrics with several word lists from existing research."}],"quality_controlled":"1","citation":{"apa":"Spliethöver, M., & Wachsmuth, H. We use brokerage accounts to study who participated in this GameStop frenzy and how they performed. We investigate the extent to which investors’ personal and trading characteristics differ from the general population of retail investors. GameStop traders had a history of investing in speculative instruments, including stocks with lottery-like features. They were also more likely to close their positions before the peak of the bubble. At the onset of the frenzy, numerous retail investors also shorted GameStop. Overall, our results indicate that the GameStop frenzy was not a pure digital protest against Wall Street but speculative trading by a group of retail investors, in line with their prior high-risk trading behavior.","lang":"eng"}],"date_created":"2021-05-14T11:55:12Z","department":[{"_id":"186"},{"_id":"578"}],"type":"journal_article","keyword":["Predatory Trading","Retail Investors","Trading Behavior"],"author":[{"full_name":"Hasso, Tim","first_name":"Tim","last_name":"Hasso"},{"last_name":"Müller","first_name":"Daniel","full_name":"Müller, Daniel","id":"50569"},{"id":"67265","full_name":"Pelster, Matthias","orcid":" https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5740-2420","first_name":"Matthias","last_name":"Pelster"},{"id":"67243","last_name":"Warkulat","first_name":"Sonja","full_name":"Warkulat, Sonja"}],"title":"Who participated in the GameStop frenzy? Furthermore, the systems may be underactuated and contain kinematic loops and are thus described by a set of differential-algebraic equations that cannot be reformulated as ordinary differential equations in general. We propose a control strategy which combines a feedforward controller based on the servo-constraints approach with a feedback controller based on a recent funnel control design. As an important tool for both approaches, we present a new procedure to derive the internal dynamics of a multibody system. Furthermore, we present a feasible set of coordinates for the internal dynamics avoiding the effort involved with the computation of the Byrnes–Isidori form. The control design is demonstrated by a simulation for a nonlinear non-minimum phase multi-input, multi-output robotic manipulator with kinematic loop.
","lang":"eng"}]},{"status":"public","title":"Inconsistent tax transfer prices: tax filings, audits, and double taxation","year":"2021","author":[{"full_name":"Lorenz, Johannes","first_name":"Johannes","last_name":"Lorenz"},{"full_name":"Sureth-Sloane, Caren","last_name":"Sureth-Sloane","first_name":"Caren","id":"530"},{"full_name":"Diller, Markus","last_name":"Diller","first_name":"Markus"}],"date_updated":"2022-01-06T06:55:29Z","publication_status":"published","_id":"22211","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"doi":"10.52569/acpj5634","user_id":"68751","citation":{"chicago":"Lorenz, Johannes, Caren Sureth-Sloane, and Markus Diller. Inconsistent Tax Transfer Prices: Tax Filings, Audits, and Double Taxation, 2021. https://doi.org/10.52569/acpj5634.","short":"J. Being defined by bulk properties, such boundary states are insensitive to certain types of perturbations, thus naturally enhancing robustness of photonic circuitries. Conventionally, the N-dimensional bulk modes correspond to (N – 1)-dimensional boundary states. The higher-order bulk-boundary correspondence relates N-dimensional bulk to boundary states with dimensionality reduced by more than 1. A special interest lies in miniaturization of such higher-order topological states to the nanoscale. Here, we realize nanoscale topological corner states in metasurfaces with C6-symmetric honeycomb lattices. We directly observe nanoscale topology-empowered edge and corner localizations of light and enhancement of light–matter interactions via a nonlinear imaging technique. Control of light at the nanoscale empowered by topology may facilitate miniaturization and on-chip integration of classical and quantum photonic devices."}],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"doi":"10.1021/acs.nanolett.1c00449","publication_identifier":{"issn":["1530-6984","1530-6992"]},"author":[{"last_name":"Kruk","first_name":"Sergey S.","full_name":"Kruk, Sergey S."},{"first_name":"Wenlong","last_name":"Gao","full_name":"Gao, Wenlong"},{"first_name":"Duk-Yong","last_name":"Choi","full_name":"Choi, Duk-Yong"},{"first_name":"Thomas","orcid":"0000-0002-8662-1101","last_name":"Zentgraf","full_name":"Zentgraf, Thomas","id":"30525"},{"full_name":"Zhang, Shuang","last_name":"Zhang","first_name":"Shuang"},{"first_name":"Yuri","last_name":"Kivshar","full_name":"Kivshar, Yuri"}],"title":"Nonlinear Imaging of Nanoscale Topological Corner States","year":"2021","article_type":"original","intvolume":" 21","publication_status":"published","date_updated":"2022-01-06T06:55:29Z"}]
