  text: "<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title>\r\n               <jats:p>The term graphic
    novel has increasingly functioned as a catalyst for understanding comic books
    as an emergent literary genre. This article focuses on one specific element within
    this historical process: the claim, made by artists such as Alan Moore, that graphic
    novels are characterized by greater formal complexity, or density, than serial
    comics. These claims are evaluated by combining computational text and image recognition
    of a corpus of 131 graphic narratives with sociological metadata on production
    and circulation. The results show that Moore’s own book-length comics, in particular
    <jats:italic>Watchmen</jats:italic> and <jats:italic>V for Vendetta</jats:italic>,
    rank among the densest graphic narratives in the sample in both their visual and
    textual content. Graphic memoirs, in contrast, only show an increase in textual
    complexity. With Pierre Bourdieu, the article understands complexity as a social
    and aesthetic strategy that aims at increasing the cultural capital of comics
    creators. At the same time, the article contextualizes computational results against
    the background of a changing marketplace for comics, in particular the decline
    of serial comics, the shift towards digital printing, and increased access to
    book distribution. This analysis shows that graphic narratives pursue both literary
    and popular aesthetic strategies, challenging Bourdieu’s account of a clear opposition
    between profit and prestige in cultural production.</jats:p>"

  text: 'We experimentally consider a dynamic multi-period Cournot duopoly with a
    simultaneous option to manage financial risk and a real option to delay supply.
    The first option allows players to manage risk before uncertainty is realized,
    while the second allows managing risk after realization. In our setting, firms
    face a strategic dilemma: They must weigh the advantages of dealing with risk
    exposure against the disadvantages of higher competition. In theory, firms make
    strategic use of the hedging component, enhancing competition. Our experimental
    results support this theory, suggesting that hedging increases competition and
    negates duopoly profits even in a simultaneous setting.'

  text: "<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>In the field of Model-Driven Engineering,
    Triple Graph Grammars\r\n(TGGs) play an important role as a rule-based means of
    implementing\r\nconsistency management. From a declarative specification of a\r\nconsistency
    relation, several operations including forward and\r\nbackward transformations,
    (concurrent) synchronisation, and\r\nconsistency checks can be automatically derived.
    For TGGs to be\r\napplicable in realistic application scenarios, expressiveness
    in\r\nterms of supported language features is very important. A TGG tool\r\nis
    schema compliant if it can take domain constraints, such as\r\nmultiplicity constraints
    in a meta-model, into account when\r\nperforming consistency management tasks.
    To guarantee schema\r\ncompliance, most TGG tools allow application conditions
    to be\r\nattached as necessary to relevant rules. This strategy is\r\nproblematic
    for at least two reasons: First, ensuring compliance to\r\na sufficiently expressive
    schema for all previously mentioned\r\nderived operations is still an open challenge;
    to the best of our\r\nknowledge, all existing TGG tools only support a very restricted\r\nsubset
    of application conditions. Second, it is conceptually\r\ndemanding for the user
    to indirectly specify domain constraints as\r\napplication conditions, especially
    because this has to be completely\r\nrevisited every time the TGG or domain constraint
    is changed. While\r\ndomain constraints can in theory be automatically transformed
    to\r\nobtain the required set of application conditions, this has only\r\nbeen
    successfully transferred to TGGs for a very limited subset of\r\ndomain constraints.
    To address these limitations, this paper\r\nproposes a search-based strategy for
    achieving schema compliance. We\r\nshow that all correctness and completeness
    properties, previously\r\nproven in a setting without domain constraints, still
    hold when\r\nschema compliance is to be additionally guaranteed. An\r\nimplementation
    and experimental evaluation are provided to support\r\nour claim of practical
    applicability.</jats:p>"

  text: <jats:p>Modern and flexible application-level software platforms increase
    the attack surface of connected vehicles and thereby require automotive engineers
    to adopt additional security control techniques. These techniques encompass host-based
    intrusion detection systems (HIDSs) that detect suspicious activities in application
    contexts. Such application-aware HIDSs originate in information and communications
    technology systems and have a great potential to deal with the flexible nature
    of application-level software platforms. However, the elementary characteristics
    of known application-aware HIDS approaches and thereby the implications for their
    transfer to the automotive sector are unclear. In previous work, we presented
    a systematic literature review (SLR) covering the state of the art of application-aware
    HIDS approaches. We synthesized our findings by means of a fine-grained classification
    for each approach specified through a feature model and corresponding variant
    models. These models represent the approaches’ elementary characteristics. Furthermore,
    we summarized key findings and inferred implications for the transfer of application-aware
    HIDSs to the automotive sector. In this article, we extend the previous work by
    several aspects. We adjust the quality evaluation process within the SLR to be
    able to consider high quality conference publications, which results in an extended
    final pool of publications. For supporting HIDS developers on the task of configuring
    HIDS analysis techniques based on machine learning, we report on initial results
    on the applicability of AutoML. Furthermore, we present lessons learned regarding
    the application of the feature and variant model approach for SLRs. Finally, we
    more thoroughly describe the SLR study design.</jats:p>

  text: "In recent years, the World Economic Forum has identified software security
    as\r\nthe most significant technological risk to the world's population, as\r\nsoftware-intensive
    systems process critical data and provide critical services.\r\nThis raises the
    question of the extent to which German companies are addressing\r\nsoftware security
    in developing and operating their software products. This\r\npaper reports on
    the results of an extensive study among developers, product\r\nowners, and managers
    to answer this question. Our results show that ensuring\r\nsecurity is a multi-faceted
    challenge for companies, involving low awareness,\r\ninaccurate self-assessment,
    and a lack of competence on the topic of secure\r\nsoftware development among
    all stakeholders. The current situation in software\r\ndevelopment is therefore
    detrimental to the security of software products in\r\nthe medium and long term."

  text: <jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>Organizations introduce virtual assistants
    (VAs) to support employees with work-related tasks. VAs can increase the success
    of teamwork and thus become an integral part of the daily work life. However,
    the effect of VAs on virtual teams remains unclear. While social identity theory
    describes the identification of employees with team members and the continued
    existence of a group identity, the concept of the extended self refers to the
    incorporation of possessions into one’s sense of self. This raises the question
    of which approach applies to VAs as teammates. The article extends the IS literature
    by examining the impact of VAs on individuals and teams and updates the knowledge
    on social identity and the extended self by deploying VAs in a collaborative setting.
    Using a laboratory experiment with N = 50, two groups were compared in solving
    a task, where one group was assisted by a VA, while the other was supported by
    a person. Results highlight that employees who identify VAs as part of their extended
    self are more likely to identify with team members and vice versa. The two aspects
    are thus combined into the proposed construct of virtually extended identification
    explaining the relationships of collaboration with VAs. This study contributes
    to the understanding on the influence of the extended self and social identity
    on collaboration with VAs. Practitioners are able to assess how VAs improve collaboration
    and teamwork in mixed teams in organizations.</jats:p>

  text: The diagnosis of diseases is decisive for planning proper treatment and ensuring
    the well-being of patients. Human error hinders accurate diagnostics, as interpreting
    medical information is a complex and cognitively challenging task. The application
    of artificial intelligence (AI) can improve the level of diagnostic accuracy and
    efficiency. While the current literature has examined various approaches to diagnosing
    various diseases, an overview of fields in which AI has been applied, including
    their performance aiming to identify emergent digitalized healthcare services,
    has not yet been adequately realized in extant research. By conducting a critical
    review, we portray the AI landscape in diagnostics and provide a snapshot to guide
    future research. This paper extends academia by proposing a research agenda. Practitioners
    understand the extent to which AI improves diagnostics and how healthcare benefits
    from it. However, several issues need to be addressed before successful application
    of AI in disease diagnostics can be achieved.</jats:p>

  text: <jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>The application of artificial intelligence
    (AI) in hospitals yields many advantages but also confronts healthcare with ethical
    questions and challenges. While various disciplines have conducted specific research
    on the ethical considerations of AI in hospitals, the literature still requires
    a holistic overview. By conducting a systematic discourse approach highlighted
    by expert interviews with healthcare specialists, we identified the status quo
    of interdisciplinary research in academia on ethical considerations and dimensions
    of AI in hospitals. We found 15 fundamental manuscripts by constructing a citation
    network for the ethical discourse, and we extracted actionable principles and
    their relationships. We provide an agenda to guide academia, framed under the
    principles of biomedical ethics. We provide an understanding of the current ethical
    discourse of AI in clinical environments, identify where further research is pressingly
    needed, and discuss additional research questions that should be addressed. We
    also guide practitioners to acknowledge AI-related benefits in hospitals and to
    understand the related ethical concerns.</jats:p>
