  text: "
We apply principal component analysis (PCA) to a set of electrical
output signals from a commercially available superconducting nanowire single-photon
detector (SNSPD) to investigate their photon-number-resolving capability. We find
that the rising edge as well as the amplitude of the electrical signal have the
most dependence on photon number. Accurately measuring the rising edge while simultaneously
measuring the voltage of the pulse amplitude maximizes the photon-number resolution
of SNSPDs. Using an optimal basis of principal components, we show unambiguous
discrimination between one- and two-photon events, as well as partial resolution
up to five photons. This expands the use case of SNSPDs to photon-counting experiments,
without the need of detector multiplexing architectures.
\r\n
\r\n

text: "We describe the group of $\\mathbb Z$-linear automorphisms of the ring of\r\nintegers
of a number field $K$ that preserve the set $V_{K,k}$ of $k$th\r\npower-free integers:
every such map is the composition of a field automorphism\r\nand the multiplication
by a unit.\r\n We show that those maps together with translations generate the
extended\r\nsymmetry group of the shift space $\\mathbb D_{K,k}$ associated to
$V_{K,k}$.\r\nMoreover, we show that no two such dynamical systems $\\mathbb D_{K,k}$
and\r\n$\\mathbb D_{L,l}$ are topologically conjugate and no one is a factor system
of\r\nanother.\r\n We generalize the concept of $k$th power-free integers to
sieves and study\r\nthe resulting admissible shift spaces."

  text:
Tunneling ionization is a crucial process in the interaction between
strong laser fields and matter which initiates numerous nonlinear phenomena including
high-order harmonic generation, photoelectron holography, etc. Both adiabatic
and nonadiabatic tunneling ionization are well understood in atomic systems. However,
the tunneling dynamics in solids, especially nonadiabatic tunneling, has not yet
been fully understood. Here, we study the sub-cycle resolved strong-field tunneling
dynamics in solids via a complex saddle-point method. We compare the instantaneous
momentum at the moment of tunneling and the tunneling distances over a range of
Keldysh parameters. Our results demonstrate that for nonadiabatic tunneling, tunneling
ionization away from Γ point is possible. When this happens the electron has a
nonzero initial velocity when it emerges in the conduction band. Moreover, consistent
with atomic tunneling, a reduced tunneling distance as compared to the quasi-static
case is found. Our results provide remarkable insight into the basic physics governing
the sub-cycle electron tunneling dynamics with significant implications for understanding
subsequent strong-field nonlinear phenomena in solids.

text: "We study the asymptotic behaviour of Bessel functions associated of root\r\nsystems
of type $A_{n-1}$ and type $B_n$ with positive multiplicities as the\r\nrank $n$
tends to infinity. In both cases, we characterize the possible limit\r\nfunctions
and the Vershik-Kerov type sequences of spectral parameters for which\r\nsuch
limits exist. In the type $A$ case, this gives a new and very natural\r\napproach
to recent results by Assiotis and Najnudel in the context of\r\n$\\beta$-ensembles
in random matrix theory. These results generalize known facts\r\nabout the approximation
of the (positive-definite) Olshanski spherical\r\nfunctions of the space of infinite-dimensional
    Hermitian matrices over $\\mathbb\r\nF = \\mathbb R, \\mathbb C, \\mathbb H$ (with
the action of the associated\r\ninfinite unitary group) by spherical functions
of finite-dimensional spaces of\r\nHermitian matrices. In the type B case, our
results include asymptotic results\r\nfor the spherical functions associated with
the Cartan motion groups of\r\nnon-compact Grassmannians as the rank goes to infinity,
and a classification of\r\nthe Olshanski spherical functions of the associated
    inductive limits."

In diesem Beitrag sollen verschiedene Textgattungen
des Gettos Litzmannstadt auf die benannten Phänomene hin analysiert werden, um
so einen Beitrag zu Fragen der Textkommunikation anhand von sowie vermittels Nicht-Texten
während der Shoa leisten zu können.'

text: "In human interaction, gestures serve various functions such as marking speech\r\nrhythm,
highlighting key elements, and supplementing information. These\r\ngestures are
also observed in explanatory contexts. However, the impact of\r\ngestures on explanations
provided by virtual agents remains underexplored. A\r\nuser study was carried
out to investigate how different types of gestures\r\ninfluence perceived interaction
quality and listener understanding. This study\r\naddresses the effect of gestures
in explanation by developing an embodied\r\nvirtual explainer integrating both
beat gestures and iconic gestures to enhance\r\nits automatically generated verbal
explanations. Our model combines beat\r\ngestures generated by a learned speech-driven
synthesis module with manually\r\ncaptured iconic gestures, supporting the agent's
verbal expressions about the\r\nboard game Quarto! as an explanation scenario.
Findings indicate that neither\r\nthe use of iconic gestures alone nor their combination
with beat gestures\r\noutperforms the baseline or beat-only conditions in terms
of understanding.\r\nNonetheless, compared to prior research, the embodied agent
    significantly\r\nenhances understanding."

text: "This paper considers the shape formation problem within the 3D hybrid model,
where a single agent with a strictly limited viewing range and the computational
capacity of a deterministic finite automaton manipulates passive tiles through
pick-up, movement, and placement actions. The goal is to reconfigure a set of
tiles into a specific shape termed an icicle. The icicle, identified as a dense,
hole-free structure, is strategically chosen to function as an intermediate shape
for more intricate shape formation tasks. It is designed for easy exploration
by a finite state agent, enabling the identification of tiles that can be lifted
without breaking connectivity. Compared to the line shape, the icicle presents
distinct advantages, including a reduced diameter and the presence of multiple
removable tiles. We propose an algorithm that transforms an arbitrary initially
connected tile structure into an icicle in \U0001D4AA(n³) steps, matching the
runtime of the line formation algorithm from prior work. Our theoretical contribution
is accompanied by an extensive experimental analysis, indicating that our algorithm
decreases the diameter of tile structures on average."

text: Motivated by the prospect of nano-robots that assist human physiological functions
at the nanoscale, we investigate the coating problem in the three-dimensional
model for hybrid programmable matter. In this model, a single agent with strictly
limited viewing range and the computational capability of a deterministic finite
automaton can act on passive tiles by picking up a tile, moving, and placing it
at some spot. The goal of the coating problem is to fill each node of some surface
graph of size n with a tile. We first solve the problem on a restricted class
of graphs with a single tile type, and then use constantly many tile types to
encode this graph in certain surface graphs capturing the surface of 3D objects.
Our algorithm requires O(n^2) steps, which is worst-case optimal compared to an
agent with global knowledge and no memory restrictions.
