  abstract     = {{Seit 1998 baut die EU ihre Kapazitäten zur Krisenprävention und Krisenbewältigung aus. Ungeachtet der Fortentwicklung der ESVP und der Durchführung ziviler und militärischer Missionen stimmen hierbei die Zielvorstellungen der einzelnen EU-Mitgliedstaaten kaum überein. Aufgrund der zwischenstaatlichen Anlage der ESVP hinterfragt der Autor besonders mit Blick auf Deutschland, Frankreich und Großbritannien, wie es überhaupt zur Integration der Sicherheits- und Verteidigungspolitik in den vergangenen zehn Jahren kommen konnte. Dabei stellt er vergleichend die innerstaatlich formulierten Motivationen dar, um aufzuzeigen, wie diese die Modalitäten zur Ausformulierung der ESVP bedingen. Mit Blick auf die Effekte der ESVP stellt die Studie die jeweiligen nationalen Rollen heraus und überprüft, inwieweit diese mit den verlautbarten Motivationen übereinstimmen. Dies führt zu einer weiteren Systematisierung von Faktoren zur Ausübung einer nationalen Führungsrolle innerhalb der europäischen Integration, die über die ESVP hinausdeutet.}},
