Although the method is used frequently, the underlying mechanism responsible\r\nfor the changes in the spectra is not fully understood. This inhibits deeper analysis of domain structures based\r\non this method. Two different models have been proposed. However, neither model completely explains all\r\nobservations. In this work, we have systematically investigated domain walls in different scattering geometries\r\nwith Raman spectroscopy in the common ferroelectric materials used in integrated optics, i.e., KTiOPO4,\r\nLiNbO3, and LiTaO3. Based on the two models, we can demonstrate that the observed contrast for domain\r\nwalls is in fact based on two different effects. We can identify on the one hand microscopic changes at the\r\ndomain wall, e.g., strain and electric fields, and on the other hand a macroscopic change of selection rules at the\r\ndomain wall. While the macroscopic relaxation of selection rules can be explained by the directional dispersion\r\nof the phonons in agreement with previous propositions, the microscopic changes can be explained qualitatively\r\nin terms of a simplified atomistic model.","lang":"eng"}]},{"citation":{"bibtex":"@inbook{Schuster_2018, title={Martin Luther – (auch) ein Erneuerer der Rhetorik?}, volume={4}, booktitle={Nouveaux Cahiers d’Allemand. Based on an analysis of interviews with entrepreneurs and new venture consultants, we describe entrepreneurs' human resources development (HRD) approaches. We found that entrepreneurs rely on networking and creativity, aim to leverage employees' interest and competencies, and allow cocreation by employees; current requirements and situational conditions shape entrepreneurs' HRD decisions. To elaborate on our findings, we draw on the distinction between causation and effectuation. Specifically, we explore whether board monitoring effectiveness as a major internal CG mechanism and stakeholder engagement as a key external CG mechanism are positively associated with sustainability reporting quality (SRQ), compliance with generally accepted sustainability reporting standards (SRC) and guidelines, and CSP for a sample of Dutch firms that have voluntarily disclosed sustainability reports during the years 2012–2016. In addition to these direct effects, we also investigate the potential indirect effects of the CG mechanisms on SRQ and SRC via CSP and distinguish between nonlagged and lag effects. Using structural equation modeling, our results show that, in the short term, monitoring effectiveness positively affects SRQ and SRC. Stakeholder engagement positively affects SRQ and SRC in the short term and is positively related to SRQ via CSP in the longer term, indicating that active stakeholders, over time, may drive companies toward more sustainable business conduct. Finally, the findings that CSP is positively related to SRQ but negatively related to SRC provide further support for signaling and legitimacy theory, respectively. Companies with superior CSP disclose high‐quality information on CSP to signal the firm's superior sustainability performance, whereas poor performing companies legitimize their inferior CSP by complying with more reporting standards, rather than by directly improving their underlying CSP.
","lang":"eng"}],"issue":"2","publication":"Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management","keyword":["Management","Monitoring","Policy and Law","Strategy and Management","Development"],"type":"journal_article","department":[{"_id":"186"},{"_id":"815"}],"date_created":"2023-10-10T10:00:18Z","publication_status":"published","date_updated":"2023-10-30T11:32:48Z","intvolume":" 26","title":"Corporate governance and sustainable business conduct—<scp>E</scp>ffects of board monitoring effectiveness and stakeholder engagement on corporate sustainability performance and disclosure choices","year":"2018","publication_identifier":{"issn":["1535-3958","1535-3966"]},"author":[{"full_name":"Manning, Bart","last_name":"Manning","first_name":"Bart"},{"last_name":"Braam","first_name":"Geert","full_name":"Braam, Geert"},{"id":"100169","full_name":"Reimsbach, Daniel","first_name":"Daniel","last_name":"Reimsbach"}],"doi":"10.1002/csr.1687","language":[{"iso":"eng"}]},{"user_id":"21810","volume":26,"page":"351-366","publisher":"Wiley","_id":"47916","status":"public","citation":{"ama":"Manning B, Braam G, Reimsbach D.
"}],"issue":"2","publication":"Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management"},{"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"doi":"10.1016/j.jclepro.2018.07.116","year":"2018","title":"Political embeddedness and the diffusion of corporate social responsibility practices in China: A trade-off between financial and CSR performance?","author":[{"full_name":"Wang, Zhi","first_name":"Zhi","last_name":"Wang"},{"id":"100169","last_name":"Reimsbach","first_name":"Daniel","full_name":"Reimsbach, Daniel"},{"full_name":"Braam, Geert","first_name":"Geert","last_name":"Braam"}],"publication_identifier":{"issn":["0959-6526"]},"publication_status":"published","date_updated":"2023-10-30T11:32:22Z","intvolume":" 198","date_created":"2023-10-10T09:24:01Z","keyword":["Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering","Strategy and Management","General Environmental Science","Renewable Energy","Sustainability and the Environment","Building and Construction"],"type":"journal_article","department":[{"_id":"186"},{"_id":"815"}],"publication":"Journal of Cleaner Production","page":"1185-1197","_id":"47914","publisher":"Elsevier BV","user_id":"21810","volume":198,"status":"public","citation":{"mla":"Wang, Zhi, et al. “Political Embeddedness and the Diffusion of Corporate Social Responsibility Practices in China: A Trade-off between Financial and CSR Performance?” <i>Journal of Cleaner Production</i>, vol. 198, Elsevier BV, 2018, pp. 1185–97, doi:<a href=\"https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jclepro.2018.07.116\">10.1016/j.jclepro.2018.07.116</a>.","bibtex":"@article{Wang_Reimsbach_Braam_2018, title={Political embeddedness and the diffusion of corporate social responsibility practices in China: A trade-off between financial and CSR performance?}, volume={198}, DOI={<a href=\"https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jclepro.2018.07.116\">10.1016/j.jclepro.2018.07.116</a>}, journal={Journal of Cleaner Production}, publisher={Elsevier BV}, author={Wang, Zhi and Reimsbach, Daniel and Braam, Geert}, year={2018}, pages={1185–1197} }","ama":"Wang Z, Reimsbach D, Braam G. In contrast to this, reinforcement learning adopts a data-driven approach and constructs an optimal control strategy by interacting with the underlying system. To keep the wear of real-world systems as low as possible, the learning process should be short. In our research, we used the state-of-the-art reinforcement learning method PILCO to design a feedback control strategy for the swing-up of the double pendulum on a cart with remarkably few test iterations at the test bench. PILCO stands for “probabilistic inference for learning control” and requires only few expert knowledge for learning. To achieve the swing-up of a double pendulum on a cart to its upper unstable equilibrium position, we introduce additional state restrictions to PILCO, so that the limited cart distance can be taken into account. Thanks to these measures, we were able to learn the swing up at the real test bench for the first time and in only 27 learning iterations."}],"citation":{"apa":"Hesse, M., Timmermann, J., Hüllermeier, E., &#38; Trächtler, A.
