This construction is closely related to and inspired by the classical construction of a non-Archimedean Schottky space for Mumford curves by Gerritzen and Herrlich. We argue that the skeleton of non-Archimedean Teichmüller space is precisely the tropical Teichmüller space introduced by Chan-Melo-Viviani as a simplicial completion of Culler-Vogtmann Outer space. Their main task is to prevent oil from exiting the system and dirt particles from entering the system. When this function is not fulfilled, a leakage can occur and cause excessive damage after certain operating times, such as gear failure due to insufficient lubrication. This is the reason for the high level of current research interest in seals. The sealing function of RSSR occurs in the contact area between the sealing lip and the shaft. The contact takes place over a very small contact width of approximately 1 μm. These extremely small dimensions and the complex relationships between the functional influencing variables on the radial shaft sealing system make it difficult to simulate wear on the sealing ring. The energetic consideration of the wear process offers the possibility of quantifying influencing variables more easily by their energetic contribution, which can be determined experimentally. Based on experimentally measured total friction moments, and with the help of a semi-analytical (SA) solid contact model based on the half-space theory, this paper presents a modelling approach for the calculation of wear at the sealing ring. The model presented in this work differs from the existing models in two ways. The first particularity is the coupling of SA method with finite element method (FEM) for the resolution of the contact between the sealing lip and the shaft, allowing a fine discretization of the contact zone (by SA method) and the consideration of the structural behavior (by FE method). The SA method compared to the commonly used FEM presents a great saving in computation time. The second particularity is the use of the real data obtained during the wear tests. Most existing simulation models are based purely on contact pressure. This means that through the contact pressure obtained by simulation and a given sliding distance value, a friction energy will be estimated which will be used in a next step using a wear model such as Archad’s to calculate the wear rate. In this publication the value of friction energy was obtained directly on an experimental basis and a more appropriate wear law, such as Fleischer’s, taking into account the friction conditions, was used to estimate the wear rate."}],"issue":"2","publication":"Lubricants","type":"journal_article","department":[{"_id":"146"}],"date_created":"2022-12-15T09:39:42Z","date_updated":"2026-07-18T13:20:23Z","intvolume":" 8","year":"2020","title":"Friction Energy-Based Wear Simulation for Radial Shaft Sealing Ring","author":[{"last_name":"Foko Foko","first_name":"Flavien","full_name":"Foko Foko, Flavien"},{"last_name":"Heimes","first_name":"Julia","full_name":"Heimes, Julia"},{"id":"97759","full_name":"Magyar, Balázs","last_name":"Magyar","first_name":"Balázs"},{"full_name":"Sauer, Bernd","last_name":"Sauer","first_name":"Bernd"}],"publication_identifier":{"issn":["2075-4442"]},"doi":"10.3390/lubricants8020015","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"quality_controlled":"1","citation":{"ieee":"F. For this purpose, typically thermoelastohydrodynamic lubrication (TEHL) simulations are used. The published models range from rather simple elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) models to very sophisticated TEHL models. Only very few models take into account the roughness or microstructure of both contact surfaces, though, since this would require the consideration of transient effects. However, the FIB systems proposed so far suffer from poor cycling performance. In this work, we report La2NiO4.13 with a Ruddlesden-Popper type structure as an intercalation-based active cathode material in all solid-state FIB with excellent cycling performance. The critical charging conditions to maintain the conductivity of the cell were determined, which seems to be a major obstacle towards improving the cycling stability of FIBs. For optimized operating conditions, a cycle life of about 60 cycles and over 220 cycles for critical cut-off capacities of 50 mAh/g and 30 mAh/g, respectively, could be achieved, with average Coulombic efficiencies between 95 – 99%. Cycling of the cell is a result of fluorination/de-fluorination into and from the La2NiO4+d cathode, and it is revealed that La2NiO4.13 is a multivalent electrode material. Our findings suggest that La2NiO4.13 is a promising high energy cathode for FIBs.
"}]},{"title":"NS-FTL: Alleviating the Uneven Bit-Level Wearing of NVRAM-based FTL via NAND-SPIN","status":"public","year":"2020","author":[{"full_name":"Cheng, Wei-Chun","last_name":"Cheng","first_name":"Wei-Chun"},{"full_name":"Chen, Shuo-Han","last_name":"Chen","first_name":"Shuo-Han"},{"last_name":"Chang","first_name":"Yuan-Hao","full_name":"Chang, Yuan-Hao"},{"first_name":"Kuan-Hsun","last_name":"Chen","orcid":"0000-0002-7110-921X","full_name":"Chen, Kuan-Hsun","id":"128464"},{"first_name":"Jian-Jia","last_name":"Chen","full_name":"Chen, Jian-Jia"},{"last_name":"Chen","first_name":"Tseng-Yi","full_name":"Chen, Tseng-Yi"},{"first_name":"Ming-Chang","last_name":"Yang","full_name":"Yang, Ming-Chang"},{"last_name":"Shih","first_name":"Wei-Kuan","full_name":"Shih, Wei-Kuan"}],"publication_status":"published","date_updated":"2026-10-12T20:32:09Z","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"_id":"66235","publisher":"IEEE","user_id":"128464","doi":"10.1109/nvmsa51238.2020.9188172","publication":"2020 9th Non-Volatile Memory Systems and Applications Symposium (NVMSA)","citation":{"ieee":"W.-C. Recent studies have focused on systematically comparing RDF-to-text approaches on benchmarking datasets such as WebNLG. Although some evaluation tools have already been proposed for text generation, none of the existing solutions abides by the Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reusability (FAIR) principles and involves RDF data for the knowledge extraction task. In this paper, we present BENG, a FAIR benchmarking platform for Natural Language Generation (NLG) and Knowledge Extraction systems with focus on RDF data. BENG builds upon the successful benchmarking platform GERBIL, is opensource and is publicly available along with the data it contains.","lang":"eng"}],"publication":"Proceedings of the 3rd WebNLG Workshop on Natural Language Generation from the Semantic Web (WebNLG+)","citation":{"apa":"Moussalem, D., Kaur, P., Castro-Ferreira, T., van der Lee, C., Shimorina, C.
