abstract = {{Graph states are a class of multi-partite entangled quantum states, where
colorability, a property rooted in their mathematical foundation, has
significant implications for quantum information processing. In this study, we
investigate the colorability of graph states in qudit systems to simplify their
representation and enhance their practical applications. We present closed-form
expressions for all two-colorable graph states. Our findings show that the
closed-form expression of these states is tightly linked to the graph structure
and the distribution of particles in red ($n_R$) and blue ($n_B$).
Additionally, we explore a broad family of three-colorable graph states
constructed from two two-colorable graph states. The closed-form expression for
these states is in the form of one two-colorable state tensor product with the
graph basis formed from another two-colorable state. Our approach
systematically reduces the number of terms required to represent these states.
Furthermore, we demonstrate that many well-known mathematical graphs, including
friendship graphs, fit within our formalism. Finally, we discuss the LU/SLOCC
(Local Unitary/Stochastic Local Operation and Classical Communication)
equivalence between two- and three-colorable graph states. Our findings have
broad implications for characterizing the LU/SLOCC equivalence of graph state
classes and pave the way for future research.}},

We examine the students' heuristics and reasoning during this process. The research is based on an eight-week teaching unit during which students labeled data, built decision trees, and assessed them using test data. They learned to manually construct decision trees to classify food items as recommendable or not. They utilized data cards with a heuristic that is a simplified form of a machine learning algorithm. We report on evidence that this topic is teachable to middle school students, along with insights for refining our teaching approach and broader implications for teaching machine learning at the school level.
}},

We observe a time-staggered profile in the circular photon polarization, which originates from the interplay of a chiral and sublattice symmetry, and has recently been suggested as a signature for topological Anderson criticality within the setup. We discuss the role of statistical detuning from criticality and show that the controlled breaking of phase coherence removes the signal, revealing its origin in quantum coherence.

  abstract     = {{The Polynomial-Time Hierarchy ($\mathsf{PH}$) is a staple of classical
complexity theory, with applications spanning randomized computation to circuit
lower bounds to ''quantum advantage'' analyses for near-term quantum computers.
Quantumly, however, despite the fact that at least \emph{four} definitions of
quantum $\mathsf{PH}$ exist, it has been challenging to prove analogues for
these of even basic facts from $\mathsf{PH}$. This work studies three
quantum-verifier based generalizations of $\mathsf{PH}$, two of which are from
[Gharibian, Santha, Sikora, Sundaram, Yirka, 2022] and use classical strings
($\mathsf{QCPH}$) and quantum mixed states ($\mathsf{QPH}$) as proofs, and one
of which is new to this work, utilizing quantum pure states
($\mathsf{pureQPH}$) as proofs. We first resolve several open problems from
[GSSSY22], including a collapse theorem and a Karp-Lipton theorem for
$\mathsf{QCPH}$. Then, for our new class $\mathsf{pureQPH}$, we show one-sided
error reduction for $\mathsf{pureQPH}$, as well as the first bounds relating
these quantum variants of $\mathsf{PH}$, namely $\mathsf{QCPH}\subseteq
\mathsf{pureQPH} \subseteq \mathsf{EXP}^{\mathsf{PP}}$.}},
