Under circularly polarized excitation at a specific wavelength, the L-shape antennas with rotating orientation angle act as spatially variant three-dimensional tilted dipoles and are able to generate desire phase delay for different polarization components. The 266 nm (4.66 eV) pump pulses induce a large electron–hole pair concentration up to 4×1020cm−3, which shift the transition energy between conduction and valence bands due to many-body effects up to ≈500 meV. Additionally, the absorption of the pump-beam creates a free-carrier profile within the 605 nm zb-GaN layer with high free-carrier concentrations at the surface, and low concentrations at the interface to the substrate. This leads to varying optical properties from the sample surface (high transition energy) to substrate (low transition energy), which are taken into account by grading analysis for an accurate description of the experimental data. This sequential sampling technique is now extended in the spirit of an active learning algorithm by adding a criterion to decide when the sampling has advanced enough to stop. In this instance, two parameters to analyse the sampling results on the fly are introduced: the number of cusps, which correspond to the most interesting and important regions of the energy landscape, and the maximum change of energy between two sequential iterations. The combination of both parameters provides the necessary information to evaluate the sampling of the 2D subspaces of grain boundary plane inclinations of even non-periodic, low angle grain boundaries. Two different approaches are physical modelling and data‐driven modelling, both of which have their respective advantages and disadvantages. By combining these two approaches, hybrid models can be created in which the respective disadvantages are mitigated, with discrepancy models being a particular subclass. Here, the basic system behaviour is described physically, that is, in the form of differential equations. Inaccuracies resulting from insufficient modelling or numerics lead to a discrepancy between the measurements and the model, which can be compensated by a data‐driven error correction term. Since discrepancy methods still require a large amount of measurement data, this paper investigates the extent to which a single discrepancy model can be trained for a physical model with additional parameter dependencies without the need for retraining. As an example, a damped electromagnetic oscillating circuit is used. The physical model is realised by a differential equation describing the electric current, considering only inductance and capacitance; dissipation due to resistance is neglected. This creates a discrepancy between measurement and model, which is corrected by a data‐driven model. In the experiments, the inductance and the capacity are varied. It is found that the same data‐driven model can only be used if additional parametric dependencies in the data‐driven term are considered as well.}}, author = {{Wohlleben, Meike Claudia and Muth, Lars and Peitz, Sebastian and Sextro, Walter}}, booktitle = {{Proceedings in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics}}, issn = {{1617-7061}}, keywords = {{Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Atomic and Molecular Physics, and Optics}}, publisher = {{Wiley}}, title = {{{Transferability of a discrepancy model for the dynamics of electromagnetic oscillating circuits}}}, doi = {{10.1002/pamm.202300039}}, year = {{2023}}, } @article{50837, author = {{Willeke, Stephanie and Böker, Ines}}, journal = {{Literatur im Unterricht. }}, author = {{Kremer, H.-Hugo and Otto, Franziska}}, journal = {{bwp@ Berufs- und Wirtschaftspädagogik – online}}, keywords = {{Übergangssystem, Selbstinszenierung, Chancenverbesserung, Subjektorientierung, Übergang Schule-Ausbildung}}, pages = {{1--27}}, title = {{{Übergang Schule-Beruf als Chancenverbesserungssystem – Zur Gestaltung von Lebensräumen und Entwicklung von Praktiken für den Übergang}}}, volume = {{Ausgabe 45}}, year = {{2023}}, } @article{45013, author = {{Codescu, M.-A. and Kunze, T. and Weiß, M. and Brehm, Martin and Kornilov, O. and Sebastiani, D. and Nibbering, E. However, the electron transfer mechanisms from the photosensitizer to the proton reduction catalyst in base metal dyads remain so far unexplored. We study a Fe-Co dyad that exhibits photocatalytic H2 production activity using femtosecond X-ray emission spectroscopy, complemented by ultrafast optical spectroscopy and theoretical time-dependent DFT calculations, to understand the electronic and structural dynamics after photoexcitation and during the subsequent charge transfer process from the FeII photosensitizer to the cobaloxime catalyst. Using this novel approach, the simultaneous measurement of the transient Kalpha X-ray emission at the iron and cobalt K-edges in a two-colour experiment is enabled making it possible to correlate the excited state dynamics to the electron transfer processes. We performed several experiments to assess the quality of generated summaries by language models. In particular, we evaluated the generated summaries using human judgments and automated metrics (Self-ROUGE and BERTScore). Additionally, we studied the correlation between human judgments and automated metrics in evaluating the generated summaries under different aspects: informativeness, coherence, conciseness, and fluency. Findings: Pre-trained language models generate summaries more concise and informative than existing short abstracts. Specifically, BART-based models effectively overcome the limitations of DBpedia short abstracts, especially for longer ones. Moreover, we show that BERTScore and ROUGE-1 are reliable metrics for assessing the informativeness and coherence of the generated summaries with respect to the full DBpedia abstracts. We also find a negative correlation between conciseness and human ratings. Furthermore, fluency evaluation remains challenging without human judgment. Adding an additional ionization source generates more charges at the sample but also larger amounts of electrons available for neutralization. The final surface charge equilibrium depends on different aspects of the experiment, such as the sample composition and geometry, the total ionization cross sections of the gas compared to the surface materials, the gas used, the luminosity and spot size of the sources used for photoionization, and the energy of the electrons present in the gas phase. It says that among all possible motions connecting two points in a phase space, the system will exhibit those motions which extremise an action functional. Many qualitative features of dynamical systems, such as the presence of conservation laws and energy balance equations, are related to the existence of an action functional. Incorporating variational structure into learning algorithms for dynamical systems is, therefore, crucial in order to make sure that the learned model shares important features with the exact physical system. In this paper we show how to incorporate variational principles into trajectory predictions of learned dynamical systems. The novelty of this work is that (1) our technique relies only on discrete position data of observed trajectories. Velocities or conjugate momenta do not need to be observed or approximated and no prior knowledge about the form of the variational principle is assumed. Instead, they are recovered using backward error analysis. (2) Moreover, our technique compensates discretisation errors when trajectories are computed from the learned system. This is important when moderate to large step-sizes are used and high accuracy is required. For this, we introduce and rigorously analyse the concept of inverse modified Lagrangians by developing an inverse version of variational backward error analysis. In this context, collaboration with innovative and agile start-ups are gaining continuously more importance. In the past established companies often used common corporate venturing methods such as incubators, accelerators, or corporate venture capital for collaboration. Compared to these methods the venture client model is relatively new and was invented by BMW employees in 2014. Using the venture client model, established companies become early clients of the start-ups even it is still a venture to do so. Together they carry out a pilot project to develop a proof of concept and validate it under real conditions. If successful, they enter a long-term collaboration to integrate the start-up’s solution into products, processes, or business models of the established company. The aim of this paper is to sum up the current literature and set a foundation for future research on this topic. Therefore, we conduct a systematic literature review. As a result, we provide a definition of the venture client model, describe characteristics, present advantages from the perspective of established companies and start-ups. In addition, we summarize the state of research regarding strategy, process, and organizational structure and for the venture client model. Increasing resource efficiency is a major challenge and affects almost every aspect of social and economic life. The mobility sector in particular is responsible for a large share of primary energy consumption and is increasingly in the focus of public interest. One possibility to adress these challenges is to reduce the vehicle weight by means of lightweight construction technologies such as multi-material systems. These assemblies consist of workpieces with different mechanical and geometrical properties, which poses a major challenge for joining technology. Mechanical joining processes such as semi-tubular self-piercing riveting are often used in the production of these assemblies, but due to their process characteristics, they are rigid and can only react to changing process variables to a limited extent. One way to increase the versatility of self-piercing riveting is to superimpose a tumbling kinematics on the punch. During tumbling, an angular offset of the punch axis to the tool axis is set and the contact area between punch and workpiece is reduced. In this work, investigations were carried out to determine how the tumbling strategy, consisting of the parameters tumbling angle, tumbling onset and tumbling kinematics, affects the material flow of the rivet element. For this purpose, experimental tests are conducted with the typical materials of conventional multi-material systems and the geometric joint formations are determined by means of macrographs. }}, author = {{Wituschek, S. and Elbel, L. and Lechner, M.}}, booktitle = {{Materials Research Proceedings}}, issn = {{2474-395X}}, publisher = {{Materials Research Forum LLC}}, title = {{{Versatile self-piercing riveting with a tumbling superimposed punch}}}, doi = {{10.21741/9781644902479-122}}, year = {{2023}}, } @article{38541, author = {{Barkhofen, Sonja and Brecht, Benjamin and Silberhorn, Christine}}, journal = {{Physik in unserer Zeit}}, number = {{1}}, pages = {{10--11}}, publisher = {{Wiley}}, title = {{{Verschränkung wie am Fließband}}}, doi = {{https://doi.org/10.1002/piuz.202370107}}, volume = {{54}}, year = {{2023}}, } @inbook{50833, author = {{Willeke, Stephanie}}, booktitle = {{Versehrung verstehen. Moreover, strain plays a key role, e.g., in the physics of ferroelectrics and, in particular, of their domain walls. μ-Raman spectroscopy is a well-suited technique for the investigation of such strain effects as it allows to measure the lattice dynamics locally. However, quantifying and reconstructing strain fields from Raman maps requires knowledge on the strain dependence of phonon frequencies. In this paper, we have analyzed both theoretically and experimentally the phonon frequencies in the widely used ferroelectrics lithium niobate and lithium tantalate as a function of uniaxial strain via density functional theory and μ-Raman spectroscopy. Overall, we find a good agreement between our ab initio models and the experimental data performed with a stress cell. The majority of phonons show an increase in frequency under compressive strain, whereas the opposite is observed for tensile strains. Moreover, for E-type phonons, we observe the lifting of degeneracy already at moderate strain fields (i.e., at ±0.2%) along the x and y directions. This paper, hence, allows for the systematic analysis of three-dimensional strains in modern-type bulk and thin-film devices assembled from lithium niobate and tantalate.}}, author = {{Singh, Ekta and Pionteck, Mike N. and Reitzig, Sven and Lange, Michael and Rüsing, Michael and Eng, Lukas M. and Sanna, Simone}}, issn = {{2475-9953}}, journal = {{Physical Review Materials}}, keywords = {{Physics and Astronomy (miscellaneous), General Materials Science}}, number = {{2}}, publisher = {{American Physical Society (APS)}}, title = {{{Vibrational properties of LiNbO3 and LiTaO3 under uniaxial stress}}}, doi = {{10.1103/physrevmaterials.7.024420}}, volume = {{7}}, year = {{2023}}, } @article{47997, abstract = {{The crystal family of potassium titanyl phosphate (KTiOPO4) is a promising material group for applications in quantum and nonlinear optics. The fabrication of low-loss optical waveguides, as well as high-grade periodically poled ferroelectric domain structures, requires a profound understanding of the material properties and crystal structure. In this regard, Raman spectroscopy offers the possibility to study and visualize domain structures, strain, defects, and the local stoichiometry, which are all factors impacting device performance. However, the accurate interpretation of Raman spectra and their changes with respect to extrinsic and intrinsic defects requires a thorough assignment of the Raman modes to their respective crystal features, which to date is only partly conducted based on phenomenological modelling. To address this issue, we calculated the phonon spectra of potassium titanyl phosphate and the related compounds rubidium titanyl phosphate (RbTiOPO4) and potassium titanyl arsenate (KTiOAsO4) based on density functional theory and compared them with experimental data. Overall, this allows us to assign various spectral features to eigenmodes of lattice substructures with improved detail compared to previous assignments. Nevertheless, the analysis also shows that not all features of the spectra can unambigiously be explained yet. A possible explanation might be that defects or long range fields not included in the modeling play a crucial rule for the resulting Raman spectrum. Working from a refinement of the dialogical notion of voice based on the concepts of polyphony and interiorization, this article presents a methodological approach for analyzing voice(s) in writing. The article presents material around the evolution of an early-career researcher’s dissertation synopsis. The material is multilayered, including the writer’s text, transcripts from an interdisciplinary peer-feedback conversation with two colleagues, and a video-stimulated interview with the writer. Excerpts of the material were analyzed to trace the polyphony of interiorized voices that influenced the writing. This focus revealed the multivoicedness of academic texts as an effect of their history of coming into being. This article contributes to the question of voice and identity in academic writing from a dialogical psycholinguistic perspective by presenting a de-reifying notion of voice grounded in an understanding of writing as a polyphonic activity, which also feeds into the formation of a writer’s self. }}, author = {{Karsten, Andrea}}, issn = {{0741-0883}}, journal = {{Written Communication}}, keywords = {{Literature and Literary Theory, Communication}}, number = {{1}}, pages = {{6--36}}, publisher = {{SAGE Publications}}, title = {{{Voices in Dialogue: Taking Polyphony in Academic Writing Seriously}}}, doi = {{10.1177/07410883231207104}}, volume = {{41}}, year = {{2023}}, } @misc{45451, author = {{Schroeter-Wittke, Harald}}, booktitle = {{Jahrbuch für Evangelische Kirchengeschichte des Rheinlandes}}, pages = {{215--218}}, title = {{{Volker Leppin: Repräsentation und Reenactment. By applying a game-theory disclosure model for the voluntary disclosure strategies of firms, in a tax setting, we argue that firms face a trade-off in their ETR disclosure decisions. On the one hand, firms have an incentive to enhance their ETR disclosure when the ratio offers shareholders ‘favourable conditions’, for example, higher expected after-tax cash flows. On the other hand, the disclosure of a favourable low ETR could attract the attention of tax auditors and the public and ultimately result in disclosure costs. We empirically test disclosure behaviour by examining the relation between disclosure visibility and different ETR conditions that reflect different stakeholder-specific costs and benefits. While we find that unfavourable ETR conditions are not highlighted, we observe higher disclosure visibility for favourable ETRs (smooth, close to the industry average, and decreasing ETRs). Additional analyses reveal that this high visibility is characteristic of firm years with only moderately decreasing ETRs at usual ETR levels, while extreme ETRs are not highlighted. In our theoretical model, physicians are faced with a heterogeneous patient population, in which patients systematically vary with regard to both their responsiveness to the provided quality of care and their state of health. We test the behavioral predictions derived from this model in a controlled laboratory experiment. In line with the model, we observe that competition significantly improves patient benefits as long as patients are able to respond to the quality provided. For those patients, who are not able to choose a physician, competition even decreases the patient benefit compared to a situation without competition. This decrease is in contrast to our theoretical prediction implying no change in benefits for passive patients. Deviations from patient-optimal treatment are highest for passive patients in need of a low quantity of medical services. With repetition, both, the positive effects of competition for active patients as well as the negative effects of competition for passive patients become more pronounced. This chapter examines the potential and the risks of this development from an interdisciplinary perspective. It defines the ‘global digital twin’ of a human being as the sum of all digitally stored information and predictive knowledge about a person. It points out that, compared to the digital twin of a machine, the human global digital twin is far more complex because it comprises the genetic code and the biographic code of a person. The genetic code contains not only a simple ‘construction plan’ but also hereditary information, in a form that is difficult to read. The biographic code contains all other information that can be assembled about a person, which is obtained via data from cameras, microphones, or other sensors, as well as general personal information. When the growing wealth of information concerning the genetic code and the biographical code is properly utilised, insights from biology and the behavioural sciences may be used to predict personal events such as health problems, job resignations, or even crimes. Because our own interests and those of private firms are partly in conflict over the use of this powerful knowledge, it is still unclear whether the global digital twins of humans will become a liberating or disciplining force for citizens. On the one hand, human beings are not machines: They are aware of their digital twin and therefore are able to influence it throughout their lives. Because of their free will, human beings are in general difficult to predict. Dystopias of full control over individual behaviour are therefore unlikely to materialise. On the other hand, private firms are beginning to take advantage of the available digital twins of humans by monopolising data access and by commercialising predictive knowledge. This is problematic because, unlike machines, human beings cannot only benefit from but also suffer due to their digital twins as they attempt to shape their own lives. We illustrate these issues with some examples and arrive at two conclusions: It is in the public interest for people to be granted more property rights over their personal global digital twins, and publicly funded research needs to become more interdisciplinary, much like private firms that have already begun to perform interdisciplinary research.}}, author = {{Hellweg, Talea Davina and Schneider, Martin and Rückert, Ulrich and Harteis, Christian and Pilz, Sarah}}, booktitle = {{The Digital Twin of Human}}, title = {{{Who Will Own Our Global Digital Twin: The Power of Genetic and Biographic Information to Shape Our Lives}}}, year = {{2023}}, } @inbook{47671, author = {{Pilz, Sarah and Hellweg, Talea and Harteis, Christian and Rückert, Ulrich and Schneider, Martin}}, booktitle = {{The Digital Twin of Humans. When creating and developing effective occupational health interventions, identification of the specific needs of the target group is regarded as an essential step before planning an intervention. Therefore, the aim of this study was (1) to examine the subjectively experienced work-related stressors of leaders in small and medium-sized IT and technological services enterprises, (2) to explore coping behaviors leaders use to deal with the experienced work-related stressors, (3) to investigate resources supporting the coping process and (4) to identify potentially self-perceived consequences resulting from the experienced stressors. Methods Ten semi-structured interviews with leaders in small and medium-sized IT and technological services enterprises were conducted. The interviews were transcribed and analyzed with content-structuring qualitative content analysis in accordance to Kuckartz. Results Leaders in small and medium-sized IT and technological services enterprises experience various stressors caused by work organization as well as industry-related stressors and other work-related stressors. To address the experienced stressors, leaders apply problem focused coping behaviors (e.g. performing changes on structural and personal level), emotional focused coping behaviors (e.g. balancing activities, cognitive restructuring) as well as the utilization of social support. Helpful resources for the coping process include organizational, social and personal resources. As a result of the experienced work-related stressors, interviewees stated to experience different health impairments, negative effects on work quality as well as neglect of leisure activities and lack of time for family and friends. Conclusion The identified experienced work-related stressors, applied coping behaviors, utilized resources and emerging consequences underpin the urgent need for the development and performance of health-oriented leadership interventions for leaders in small and medium- sized IT and technological services. The results of this study can be used when designing a target-oriented intervention for the examined target group. }}, author = {{Dannheim, Indra and Buyken, Anette and Kroke, Anja}}, issn = {{1471-2458}}, journal = {{BMC Public Health}}, keywords = {{Public Health, Environmental and Occupational Health}}, number = {{1}}, publisher = {{Springer Science and Business Media LLC}}, title = {{{Work-related stressors and coping behaviors among leaders in small and medium-sized IT and technological services enterprises}}}, doi = {{10.1186/s12889-023-15581-3}}, volume = {{23}}, year = {{2023}}, } @article{51770, abstract = {{AbstractWorkarounds are goal‐driven deviations from the standard operating procedures performed to overcome obstacles constraining day‐to‐day work. Despite starting as temporary fixes, they can become established across an organisation and trigger the innovation of processes and IT artefacts that can resolve misfits permanently. Although prior research has elicited antecedents and types of workarounds, it is not known how workarounds diffuse in an organisation and, thereby, innovating co‐workers' activities, IT artefacts, and organisational structures. The results of our multiple two‐year case study provide unique empirical insights into the diffusion of workarounds and how they can act as generative mechanisms for bottom‐up process innovation.}}, author = {{Bartelheimer, Christian and Wolf, Verena and Beverungen, Daniel}}, issn = {{1350-1917}}, journal = {{Information Systems Journal}}, keywords = {{Computer Networks and Communications, Information Systems, Software}}, number = {{5}}, pages = {{1085--1150}}, publisher = {{Wiley}}, title = {{{Workarounds as generative mechanisms for bottom‐up process innovation—Insights from a multiple case study}}}, doi = {{10.1111/isj.12435}}, volume = {{33}}, year = {{2023}}, } @article{46264, abstract = {{System-level interconnects provide the backbone for increasingly complex systems on a chip.
