abstract = {{Light-assisted metal oxide-based chemiresistive gas sensors are widely explored for operation at relatively low temperatures, yet the investigation of the role of irradiance, as opposed to wavelength, remains underrepresented. Here, we systematically quantify the irradiance-dependent behavior of ordered mesoporous In2O3 under visible light illumination. Photoconductivity measurements reveal two distinct irradiance regimes consistent with trap-limited transport at low power and recombination- or saturation-limited transport at high power. Gas sensing experiments towards CO and H2 show a pronounced non-monotonic response, reaching maximum responses of 0.74 for 135 ppm CO at 67 mW cm−2 and 0.64 for 90 ppm H2 at 11 mW cm−2, followed by strong suppression at higher irradiance. Illumination also accelerated the response kinetics. At 60 ppm, t90 decreases from 96 to 12 s for CO and 141 to 27 s for H2, corresponding to an 8- and 5-fold faster response time, respectively. Near-ambient pressure-XPS under controlled atmosphere and density functional theory calculations indicate defect-mediated excitation. Oxygen vacancy states and illumination-induced modification of surface oxygen species govern this behavior. The results establish irradiance as a critical mechanistic parameter that determines whether In2O3 operates in a surface-controlled or bulk photoconductive regime. These findings highlight the need to explicitly optimize and report irradiance in illuminated gas sensor studies, and not only the power consumption of the light source.}},

Diet impacts cardiovascular disease risk, but the association across diabetes subtypes is unclear. We thus aimed to assess the association between dietary factors and estimated 10-year cardiovascular disease risk across diabetes subtypes in the German Diabetes Study (GDS). Participants with recent-onset diabetes and from the 5-year follow-up examination were combined (n=635, mean age 47.5±12.9 years, 60% male) and classified into diabetes subtypes. Subtypes with prevalence >10% were included in cross-sectional analyses: severe autoimmune diabetes (39%), mild obesity-related diabetes (31%), and mild age-related diabetes (30%). Carbohydrate quality parameters and adherence to dietary patterns were assessed from food frequency questionnaires. Differences in associations between these dietary factors and 10-year cardiovascular risk estimated by SCORE2-Diabetes across subtypes were examined using multivariable-adjusted linear regression models including an interaction term. In people with severe autoimmune diabetes, the overall and the healthful plant-based diet index were associated with lower estimated 10-year cardiovascular risk (ß [95% CI] -6.8 [-12.1; -1.2] and -8.8% [-14.0; -3.2] per 1-standard deviation increases, respectively), while these associations were not evident among the remaining two subtypes (p-value for interaction between subtypes <0.05). Our findings suggest subtype-specific associations of plant-based dietary patterns with estimated cardiovascular risk, warranting further research from longitudinal and intervention studies.

abstract = {{Introduction: The Nutri-Score is a summary graded and colour-coded front of pack nutritional label providing an overall assessment of the nutritional value of prepacked products. While its 2023 update has been shown to be consistent with food-based dietary guidelines in the countries in which it has been adopted, its application has not been investigated in a wider geographical area. The objective of this study was to describe the classification of products according to the Nutri-Score in a large number of European Union (EU) countries.

Methods: Branded food composition from 14 European countries was obtained from Euromonitor. Food products were classified according to the Nutri-Score algorithm, based on their content in energy (kJ/100 g), saturated fats (g/100 g), sugars (g/100 g), salt (g/100 g), proteins (g/100 g), dietary fibres (g/100 g) and fruit, vegetables and legumes (%/100 g). The distribution of the 2023 and 2015 Nutri-Score classifications was described across countries and food categories.

Results: Overall, classification according to the 2023 Nutri-Score was consistent across 408 399 products from 14 countries and consistent with food-based dietary guidelines: >90% of frozen fruit and vegetables or >95% pulses were classified in the more favourable classes of the Nutri-Score (A/B), while >90% of discretionary foods such as chocolate confectionery and sweet biscuits were classified in the less favourable classes (D/E). Cross-country differences in classification reflected underlying variability in nutrient composition of products (eg, salt content in refined breads ranged from 1.05 to 1.23 g/100 g across countries).

Conclusion: The Nutri-Score classification appeared consistent across a large geographical area, confirming its potential as an EU-wide front-of-package label. While some residual challenges remain for a limited number of specific product groups (eg, whole-grain pasta or rice), our findings indicate that the 2023 update represents a substantial improvement over the 2015 algorithm.}},

abstract = {{This research article addresses the critical gap in describing human capabilities for assembly, disassembly and reassembly processes in production systems at a granular level. As circular economy principles become essential in manufacturing, understanding production-centered capabilityr equirements is increasingly vital. While most metadata models focus on technical resources, existing human capability models either focus narrowly on human-robot collaboration or lack integration across diverse capability dimensions. This study conducts a systematic literature review following the PRISMA scheme, examining different scientific databases to develop a comprehensive, production-centered metadata model. The resulting model formalizes three fundamental classes as well as two supplemental classes for describing human resources while incorporating knowledge and possible legal requirements essential for production environments. The present article proposes a holistic integration of capabilities from a human factor perspective, with the objective of facilitating data science and artificial intelligence approaches to inform decisions in the product creation process. The developed metadata model provides the foundation for decision support systems that match human capabilities to specific production tasks and requirements, advancing circular manufacturing practices and sustainable production system design.}},

We specify a Grid of Processing Cells (GPC) with two non-trivial software applications and successively generate and validate the hardware models at lower abstraction levels, namely TLM, ISS, RTL, and FPGA. Our comprehensive experimental evaluation of a physical implementation on an FPGA shows the true scalability of the GPC architecture. The increasing use of aluminium alloys and ultra-high-strength steels, such as CP1000, in automotive lightweight design imposes stringent requirements on mechanical joining technologies. Self-piercing riveting (SPR) is widely used in multi-material structures; however, conventional rivet systems are limited ranges of material and sheet thickness. To address this limitation, Kappe et al. introduced versatile self-piercing riveting (V-SPR), which combines an extended punch actuator with a multi-range-capable rivet to enable joining of materials with tensile strengths up to 600 MPa without tool changes.

This study presents a comparative investigation of a multi-range-capable rivet for V-SPR and conventional standard rivets in CP1000–aluminium and aluminium–aluminium joints. The analysis focuses on joint formation and mechanical performance under shear-tensile and cross-tensile loading. Metallographic cross-sections are used to characterise interlock formation, minimum die-side material thickness, and failure modes. Mechanical performance is evaluated using quasi-static tests, with emphasis on maximum load and failure mode. The experiments establish a demonstrated joinability matrix for the investigated sheet-thickness combinations using adapted punch and die motions. The results demonstrate the applicability of V-SPR to ultra-high-strength steel–aluminium and aluminium–aluminium joints. For the most industrially relevant combination investigated, St1.5–Al2.0 (CP1000–EN AW-6014), V-SPR achieves mechanical performance comparable to or higher than that of standard SPR while substantially reducing tool complexity through a single multi-range-capable rivet, a reduced die configuration, and fewer stack-specific changeovers. However, the independently driven inner and outer punches and active die increase actuator and control-system complexity.
