          <jats:p>A scoring list is a sequence of simple decision models, where features are incrementally evaluated and scores of satisfied features are summed to be used for threshold-based decisions or for calculating class probabilities. In this paper, we introduce a new multi-class variant and compare it against previously introduced binary classification variants for incremental decisions, as well as multi-class variants for classical decision-making using all features. Furthermore, we introduce a new multi-class dataset to assess collaborative human-machine decision-making, which is suitable for user studies with non-expert participants. We demonstrate the usefulness of our approach by evaluating predictive performance and compared to the performance of participants without AI help.</jats:p>}},

  abstract     = {{<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>Controlling the surface orientation of DNA origami nanostructures (DON) is crucial for applications in nanotechnology and materials science. While previous work utilized various DON modifications, simple methods for controlling their landing orientation remain scarce. Here, we demonstrate a straightforward approach to control the adsorption orientation of chiral double‐L (CDL) DON on mica by tuning magnesium ion (Mg<jats:sup>2</jats:sup>⁺) concentration and exploiting global shape distortions. Using atomic force microscopy (AFM), we analyzed the resulting distribution of the mirror‐image orientations, referred to as S and Z orientations, at both buffer/mica and air/mica interfaces and identified conditions resulting in homogenous CDL orientation of 100% S. These results demonstrate how DON conformation and ionic environments influence DON orientation, offering insights for precise nanostructure deposition.</jats:p>}},

          <jats:p>The effect of corrosion on mechanically joined components is not well understood. While recent research shows that a brief exposure of clinched specimens to a salt spray environment improves the specimens’ fatigue life, other research shows a decrease in load bearing capabilities with increasing corrosion times. These studies primarily focus on galvanic corrosion. It is not entirely clear how other corrosion phenomena, such as pitting corrosion, affect the fatigue life of clinched joints. In this work, a numerical model is used, which is able to simulate corrosion pit growth in EN AW-6014. The experimental polarization data of EN AW-6014 are used directly in the calculation of the interface kinetics parameter of the model.</jats:p>}},

  abstract     = {{<jats:p>Abstract. Saving emissions and a circular economy are key aspects of sustainable production and compliance global climate change targets. Friction-induced solid-state recycling of aluminum scrap to production endless semi-finished products. Scrap is fed into a continuously rotating wheel. This requires less energy compared to heat-based recycling processes. Different sizes, shapes and surfaces of chips can be used as starting material in the process. The influence of this has been shown in past publications. A native oxide layer is a fixed component of aluminum surface. This layer is broken up during the forming process, allowing the aluminum to bond. In addition to the geometry, the surface finishes and the thickness of the oxide layer are therefore also important input variables in friction-induced solid-state recycling. The oxide layers on the chips were determined for the investigation. In addition, different layer thicknesses were produced to survey their influence. The resulting semi-finished products were evaluated on the basis of their tensile strength and microstructure. The main result of the investigations is the fact that semi-finished products made from chips with thicker oxide layers tend to be more brittle. In addition, thick oxide layers cause microstructural and surface defects.</jats:p>}},

  abstract     = {{In this paper we introduce, in a Hilbert space setting, a second order dynamical system with asymptotically vanishing damping and vanishing Tikhonov regularization that approaches a multiobjective optimization problem with convex and differentiable components of the objective function. Trajectory solutions are shown to exist in finite dimensions. We prove fast convergence of the function values, quantified in terms of a merit function. Based on the regime considered, we establish both weak and, in some cases, strong convergence of trajectory solutions toward a weak Pareto optimal solution. To achieve this, we apply Tikhonov regularization individually to each component of the objective function. This work extends results from single objective convex optimization into the multiobjective setting.}},
