abstract = {{The number of datasets on the web of data increases continuously. However, the knowledge contained therein cannot be fully utilized without finding links between the entities contained in these datasets. Equivalent entities can not be identified solely by checking the equivalence of IRIs because of the different origins and naming schemes of different data providers. Yet, such equivalences can be discovered by computing the similarity of their attributes. In this paper we propose GLIDE, an approach that links entities from two different datasets by embedding a joint model of these datasets enriched by additional relations describing the similarity of literals. The joint model is embedded into a latent vector space while paying attention to juxtaposing similar literals. We evaluate our approach against state-of-the-art algorithms using real-world datasets commonly used in link discovery literature. The results show that GLIDE outperforms all baselines on 5 of 7 datasets with perfect or near-perfect accuracy. Our approach achieves its best performance on datasets that feature several literals with similarities. Our experiments indicate that researchers should not only pay attention to equal literals in knowledge graph embedding but should also be aware of the distance between similar literals.}},

abstract = {{Explainable AI (XAI) methods can support the identification of biases in automated decision-making (ADM) systems. However, existing research does not sufficiently address whether these biases originate from the ADM system or mirror underlying societal inequalities. This distinction is important because it has major implications for how to act upon an explanation: while the societal bias produced by the ADM system can be algorithmically fixed, societal inequalities demand societal actions. To address this gap, we propose the RR-XAI-framework (recognition-redistribution through XAI) that builds on a distinction between socio-technical and societal bias and Nancy Fraser's justice theory of recognition and redistribution. In our framework, explanations can play two distinct roles: as a socio-technical diagnosis when they reveal biases produced by the ADM system itself, or as a societal diagnosis when they expose biases that reflect broader societal inequalities. We then outline the operationalization of the framework and discuss its applicability for cases in algorithmic hiring and credit scoring. Based on our findings, we argue that the diagnostic functions of XAI are contingent on the provision of such explanations, the resources of the audiences, as well as the current limits of XAI techniques.}},

Therefore, the versatile SPR (V-SPR) and tumbling SPR (T-SPR) were developed. Using the example of a mixed material combination HCT590X+Z (t0 = 1.0 mm) / EN AW-6014 T4 (t0 = 2.0 mm), these processes were examined and compared with regard to the binding mechanisms form closure and force closure using micrographs, non-destructive resistance measurements and destructive torsion tests. For this purpose, a new sample geometry was defined, and the methods were adapted to the SPR process variants.
}},

abstract = {{This paper examines the impact of a rotationally superimposed punch stroke on the binding mechanisms of clinched joints of aluminum sheets. As part of the development of a method for ensuring the versatility of clinching, an additional rotational movement of the punch was introduced as a control variable to influence friction in the mechanical joining process. The effect of rotational superimposition on the force-displacement curve of the clinching processes was investigated using four test variants with different kinematics. The primary objective was to evaluate the binding mechanisms that maintain the integrity of the clinched joint. To evaluate the force closure of the resulting joint, two testing methods were employed throughout the course of the research, non-destructive resistance measurement using four-wire sensing method and destructive torsion testing. A crucial factor influencing the efficacy of the process is surface cleanliness, as contaminants between joining partners can impede the effectiveness of the clinched joint. Therefore, all specimens were meticulously cleaned prior to experimentation. This method exhibits promising potential in creating clinched joints that align with the demands of flexible manufacturing environments.
}},
