  abstract = {{Fused deposition modeling (FDM) is an additive manufacturing process that can be used to manufacture three-dimensional thermoplastic components layer by layer. One disadvantage of FDM is the shrinkage of the components during the manufacturing process. The filament is molten in the nozzle, deposited layer by layer, and cools down again. During solidification, the filament shrinks inhomogeneously in the x/y/z direction, which leads to distortion of the component geometries. Particularly with higher nominal lengths and complex local geometries, there is a need for optimization with regard to dimensional accuracy. The aim of this paper is to counteract this on the software side with global as well as local shrinkage factors. The expected shrinkage within a layer is predicted with an in-house developed software. The geometric accuracy of the model is verified by experimental investigations on cylindrical test specimens. In these, the so-called clover effect occurs as a result of the shrinkage. The circular shape of the deposited layer is deformed by the distortion in the x–y plane comparable to a clover. Finally, the results are validated by analyzing a demonstrator in the form of a bracket.}},

  abstract = {{Unsupervised speech disentanglement aims at separating fast varying from
slowly varying components of a speech signal. In this contribution, we take a
closer look at the embedding vector representing the slowly varying signal
components, commonly named the speaker embedding vector. We ask, which
properties of a speaker's voice are captured and investigate to which extent do
individual embedding vector components sign responsible for them, using the
concept of Shapley values. Our findings show that certain speaker-specific
acoustic-phonetic properties can be fairly well predicted from the speaker
embedding, while the investigated more abstract voice quality features cannot.}},

@article{49157,
  abstract     = {{
Service frontline encounters between customers and service providers have been subject to fundamental changes in recent years. As two major change agents, technology infusion and data privacy regulations are inextricably linked and constitute a critical ethical and societal issue. Specifically, service frontlines—as represented by human or technological agents, or some hybrid form—rely on customer data for service provision, which subjects them to privacy regulations governing the collection, submission, access, and use of any customer data thus captured. However, scant research outlines the significant implications of evolving data privacy regulations for service frontline encounters. To advance knowledge in this domain, this research distills six key dimensions of global data privacy regulations (fairness, data limits, transparency, control, consent, and recourse). Employing an intelligences theoretical lens, the authors theorize how these dimensions might become differentially manifest across three service frontline interface types (human-based, technology-based, and hybrid). Carefully intersecting the need for varying intelligences across data privacy regulatory dimensions with the abilities of service frontline interfaces to harness each intelligence type, this study offers a novel conceptual framework that advances research and practice. Theoretical, managerial, and policy implications unfold from the proposed framework, which also can inform a future research agenda.
}},

  abstract = {{I study the effect of heterogeneous beliefs about asset prices on the long-term behavior of financial markets. Starting from the ideas of Abreu and Brunnermeier (Citation2003), a two-dimensional system of differential equations is developed. The first dynamic variable is the asset price growth rate. The second dynamic variable is the number of investors who believe that asset prices are abnormally high. In a phase plane analysis, I find both stable and unstable equilibria, depending on the spread of information and the response to other agents’ beliefs. If individuals try to increase their returns while perceiving more overpricing, these equilibria can be spirals or even approach limit cycles. Although I intend to study general price patterns, abnormally high asset prices can be caused by financial bubbles. In this model, bubbles can emerge and deflate both in cycles or directly, or they can grow until they burst. Further, I analyze market behavior after a central bank increases the interest rate. This can lead to new stable equilibria, but the emergence and bursting of bubbles cannot be prevented.}},
