This study presents a comparative analysis of two physically based debonding methods: the established hot-air process and a cryogenic cold process based on liquid nitrogen (LN2). The primary objective is to assess the ecological impact and process-related sustainability of both approaches.\r\nExperimental investigations were conducted on a component-representative triple-sheet structure that simulates common automotive flange joints. Thermal input was applied either by convective heating using a hot air gun or by direct cooling through a contact-based LN2 tool. The resulting temperature profiles were recorded using spatially distributed thermocouples. Subsequently, the outer panel was selectively debonded to replicate a repair scenario, and the mechanical integrity of the remaining adhesive joint was evaluated through Mode I testing of L-shaped specimens. Process data served as input for an Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) according to DIN EN ISO 14040.\r\nThe cryogenic method achieved a 40% reduction in carbon footprint compared to the hot-air process (0.337 kg vs. 0.559 kg CO2-equivalents), primarily due to its shorter process time and more efficient heat transfer. While the hot-air method’s impact is mainly driven by electrical energy use, that of the cold method stems from cryogenic media consumption. Notwithstanding certain disadvantages in specific impact categories, the LN2-based process exhibits a superior overall ecological performance and signifies a promising solution for repair- and recycling-oriented adhesive separation in structural vehicle applications.","lang":"eng"}],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"keyword":["Sustainable debonding","Structural adhesives","Sustainable joining technologies","Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)","Automotive repair process","Economically efficient debonding"],"quality_controlled":"1","year":"2025","date_created":"2025-07-30T11:04:28Z","publisher":"Elsevier","title":"Comparison of the economic efficiency and sustainability of two debonding processes for structurally bonded sills"},{"title":"Additive Fertigung im Elektromaschinenbau: Erforschung von Potentialen der additiven Fertigung in Rotoren permanentmagneterregter Synchronmaschinen","main_file_link":[{"url":"https://oa.tib.eu/renate/bitstreams/9121e5bb-d113-4cfe-8fc6-610465afcd66/download","open_access":"1"}],"doi":"10.34657/26753","date_updated":"2026-01-06T08:09:33Z","oa":"1","publisher":"Technische Informationsbibliothek","author":[{"first_name":"Michael","full_name":"Haase, Michael","id":"35970","last_name":"Haase"},{"last_name":"Behrendt","full_name":"Behrendt, Marius","first_name":"Marius"},{"first_name":"Florian","full_name":"Hengsbach, Florian","id":"14073","last_name":"Hengsbach"},{"first_name":"Vinay","full_name":"Kunnathully Sathees Kumar, Vinay","id":"60979","last_name":"Kunnathully Sathees Kumar"},{"last_name":"Magerkohl","full_name":"Magerkohl, Sebastian","id":"28520","first_name":"Sebastian"},{"first_name":"Balázs","id":"97759","full_name":"Magyar, Balázs","last_name":"Magyar"},{"first_name":"Bernd","full_name":"Ponick, Bernd","last_name":"Ponick"},{"last_name":"Schaper","full_name":"Schaper, Mirko","id":"43720","first_name":"Mirko"},{"id":"604","full_name":"Zimmer, Detmar","last_name":"Zimmer","first_name":"Detmar"}],"date_created":"2025-12-18T12:14:12Z","place":"Hannover","year":"2025","citation":{"chicago":"Haase, Michael, Marius Behrendt, Florian Hengsbach, Vinay Kunnathully Sathees Kumar, Sebastian Magerkohl, Balázs Magyar, Bernd Ponick, Mirko Schaper, and Detmar Zimmer. Beide Projekte zeigen das Potenzial additiver Fertigung für Leichtbau und Wirkungsgradsteigerung im Elektromaschinenbau und bieten wertvolle Grundlagen für industrielle Anwendungen.","lang":"ger"}],"status":"public","type":"report"},{"year":"2025","quality_controlled":"1","issue":"2","title":"Implementing Strategic Environmental Assessment in the Global South, a Challenge: Nicaragua as a Case Study","publisher":"SDEWES Centre","date_created":"2025-07-21T09:04:07Z","publication":"Journal of Sustainable Development Indicators","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"citation":{"apa":"Díaz Canales, E. For initial data $u_{0}$ compactly supported or in a weighted $L^{1}(G/K)$ space with a weight depending on $p\\in [1, \\infty ]$, we introduce a mass function $M_{p}(u_{0})(\\cdot )$, and prove that if $h_{t}$ is the heat kernel on $G/K$, then $$ \\begin{align*} &\\|h_t\\|_p^{-1}\\,\\|u_0\\ast h_t \\, - \\,M_p(u_0)(\\cdot)\\,h_t\\|_p \\rightarrow 0 \\quad \\textrm{as} \\quad t\\rightarrow \\infty.\\end{align*} $$ Interestingly, the $L^{p}$ heat concentration leads to completely different expressions of the mass function for $1\\leq p <2$ and $2\\leq p\\leq \\infty $. If we further assume that the initial data are bi-$K$-invariant, then our mass function boils down to the constant $\\int _{G/K}u_{0}$ in the case $p=1$, and more generally to $\\mathcal{H}{u_{0}}(i\\rho (2/p-1))$ if $1\\leq p<2$, and to $\\mathcal{H}{u_{0}}(0)$ if $2\\leq p \\leq \\infty $. Our architectural and implementation choices address the challenge of harnessing linguistic diversity while maintaining efficiency and avoiding the common pitfalls of multilinguality. Our analysis of the evaluation results shows competitive performance in natural language generation and understanding tasks. Additionally, we demonstrate how the learned expert-routing mechanism exploits implicit phylogenetic linguistic patterns to potentially alleviate the curse of multilinguality. We provide an in-depth look at the training process, an analysis of the datasets, and a balanced exploration of the model{’}s strengths and limitations. As an open-source model, LOLA promotes reproducibility and serves as a robust foundation for future research. The challenges in dealing with technical changes arise in the consideration of relevant cause-and-effect relationships, the quantitative and qualitative assessment of the effects and the efficient process integration. With the help of a model-based solution approach, the effects of technical changes can be assessed more quickly and profound development decisions can be made. This dissertation describes a methodology for the development of model-based effect chain analyses for the evaluation of technical changes. Model-based effect chain analyses can be used to identify model elements that are directly or indirectly affected by the change. The data model is analysed using query languages and the effects are quantified using integrated metrics. The results of the impact chain analysis are provided in role-specific views, which ensures needs-based decision support. The validation based on four industrial case studies demonstrates the practical applicability of the methodology. The source generates photon pairs with wavelengths of 815 nm and 1550 nm, linking the visible wavelength regime with telecommunication wavelengths. We confirm the high quality of the generated single photons by determining a value for the heralded second-order correlation function as low as g_h^(2)=(6.7+/-1.1)*10^8-3). Furthermore, we achieve a high spectral brightness of 0.44·10pairs/(smWGHz) which is two orders of magnitude higher than sources based on weakly guiding waveguides. The shape of the PDC spectrum and the strong agreement between the effective and nominal bandwidth highlight our high fabrication quality of periodically poled waveguides. The good agreement between the measured and simulated spectral characteristics of our source demonstrates our excellent understanding of the PDC process. Our result is a valuable step towards practical and scalable quantum communication networks as well as photonic quantum computing.","lang":"eng"}],"publication":"Optics Express","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"year":"2025","issue":"25","title":"Ultrabright, two-color photon pair source based on thin-film lithium niobate for bridging visible and telecom wavelengths","publisher":"Optica Publishing Group","date_created":"2025-12-15T07:20:36Z"},{"title":"Segmented finger electrodes to optimize ultra-long continuous wafer-scale periodic poling in thin-film lithium niobate","publisher":"Walter de Gruyter GmbH","date_created":"2025-12-01T08:45:07Z","year":"2025","quality_controlled":"1","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"abstract":[{"text":"Periodically poled thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) crystals are the fundamental building block for highly-efficient quantum light sources and frequency converters. The efficiency of these devices is strongly dependent on the interaction length between the light and the nonlinear material, scaling quadratically with this parameter. Nevertheless, the fabrication of long, continuously poled areas in TFLN remains challenging, the length of continuously poled areas rarely exceeds 10 mm. In this work, we demonstrate a significant progress in this field achieving the periodic poling of continuous poled areas of 70 mm length with a 3 μm poling period and a close to 50 % duty cycle. We compare two poling electrode design approaches to fabricate long, continuous poled areas. The first approach involves the poling of a single, continuous 70 mm long electrode. The second utilize a segmented approach including the poling of more than 20 individual sections forming together a 70 mm long poling area with no stitching errors. While the continuous electrode allows for faster fabrication, the segmented approach allows to individually optimize the poling resulting in less duty cycle variation. A detailed analysis of the periodic poling results reveals that the results of both are consistent with previously reported poling outcomes for shorter devices. Thus, we demonstrate wafer-scale periodic poling exceeding chiplet-size without any loss in the periodic poling quality. Our work presents a key step towards highly-efficient, narrow-bandwidth and low-pump power nonlinear optical devices.","lang":"eng"}],"publication":"Nanophotonics","doi":"10.1515/nanoph-2025-0461","main_file_link":[{"url":"https://doi.org/10.1515/nanoph-2025-0461","open_access":"1"}],"date_updated":"2026-01-07T12:06:29Z","oa":"1","volume":14,"author":[{"last_name":"Bollmers","id":"61375","full_name":"Bollmers, Laura","first_name":"Laura"},{"last_name":"Spiegelberg","full_name":"Spiegelberg, Noah","first_name":"Noah"},{"first_name":"Michael","id":"22501","full_name":"Rüsing, Michael","orcid":"0000-0003-4682-4577","last_name":"Rüsing"},{"id":"13244","full_name":"Eigner, Christof","orcid":"https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5693-3083","last_name":"Eigner","first_name":"Christof"},{"first_name":"Laura","last_name":"Padberg","id":"40300","full_name":"Padberg, Laura"},{"first_name":"Christine","full_name":"Silberhorn, Christine","id":"26263","last_name":"Silberhorn"}],"page":"4761","intvolume":" 14","citation":{"bibtex":"@article{Bollmers_Spiegelberg_Rüsing_Eigner_Padberg_Silberhorn_2025, title={Segmented finger electrodes to optimize ultra-long continuous wafer-scale periodic poling in thin-film lithium niobate}, volume={14}, DOI={10.1515/nanoph-2025-0461}, journal={Nanophotonics}, publisher={Walter de Gruyter GmbH}, author={Bollmers, Laura and Spiegelberg, Noah and Rüsing, Michael and Eigner, Christof and Padberg, Laura and Silberhorn, Christine}, year={2025}, pages={4761} }","mla":"Bollmers, Laura, et al. “Segmented Finger Electrodes to Optimize Ultra-Long Continuous Wafer-Scale Periodic Poling in Thin-Film Lithium Niobate.” Nanophotonics, vol. 14, Walter de Gruyter GmbH, 2025, p. 4761, doi:10.1515/nanoph-2025-0461.","short":"L. However, traditional methods often fail in cold-start scenarios where new items lack prior interactions. Recent advances in large language models (LLMs) offer a promising alternative. In this paper, we adopt the retrieve-and-recommend framework and propose to fine-tune the LLM jointly on warm-and cold-start next-item recommendation tasks, thus, mitigating the need for separate models for both item types. We computationally compare zero-shot prompting, in-context learning, and fine-tuning using the same LLM backbone, and benchmark them against strong PLM-based baselines. Our findings provide practical insights into the trade-offs between accuracy and computational cost of these methods for next-item recommendation. As data space initiatives evolve, personalized recommendations are increasingly recognized as key use cases. However, traditional recommendation approaches typically rely on centralized aggregation of user behavior data-directly conflicting with the core ethos of data spaces: sovereignty, privacy, and trust. Federated recommendation systems offer a promising alternative by training models locally and exchanging only intermediate parameters to build a global model. Despite this potential, the integration of federated recommendation techniques and data space architectures remains largely underexplored in research and practice. This paper addresses this gap by designing and evaluating a prototype of a federated recommendation system specifically tailored for data spaces and compliant with their underlying infrastructure. Our findings highlight the viability of developing privacy-preserving, collaborative recommendation systems within data spaces, and contribute to the broader adoption of AI across these emerging ecosystems.","lang":"eng"}],"publication":"2025 27th International Conference on Business Informatics (CBI)","type":"conference","doi":"10.1109/cbi68102.2025.00019","main_file_link":[{"open_access":"1"}],"title":"Preserving Sovereignty and Privacy for Personalization: Designing a Federated Recommendation System for Data Spaces","date_created":"2026-01-07T13:34:02Z","author":[{"last_name":"Halimeh","full_name":"Halimeh, Haya","id":"87673","first_name":"Haya"},{"first_name":"Philipp","last_name":"zur Heiden","full_name":"zur Heiden, Philipp","id":"64394"}],"publisher":"IEEE","oa":"1","date_updated":"2026-01-07T13:49:45Z","citation":{"apa":"Halimeh, H., & zur Heiden, P.
