This contribution investigates the activation of prospective teachers’ categories when solving tasks on the scalar product and evaluating their relevance for teaching in upper secondary school. To further investigate, whether input on content-related aspects could be helpful to promote a professional justification for the selection of tasks, two groups with and without input are to be differentiated. Es wird daher gefordert, dass sich der Mathema-tikunterricht verstärkt einer verstehensorientierten Förderung arithmetischer Basis-kompetenzen widmen soll. Hierfür müssen Lehrkräfte allerdings sensibilisiert, weiter- und fortgebildet werden. In diesem Beitrag wird ein Professionalisierungs-konzept für den Mathematikunterricht der Primarstufe vorgestellt, welches im Rah-men des bundesweiten Projekts „Schule macht stark“ (kurz: SchuMaS) entstanden ist. Konzeptionell verzahnt es im Besonderen Theorie und Praxis: Es werden Fort-bildungen in Form von Fachnetzwerktreffen konzipiert und durch praxisnahe Kernbotschaften wird die Anbindung an die eigene Unterrichtspraxis ermöglicht. Darüber hinaus werden zu diesen Kernbotschaften passende Praxiserprobungen für die unterrichtliche Umsetzung bereitgestellt und so aufbereitet, dass sie auch für den Transfer ins Kollegium geeignet sind. Ferner werden zur vertiefenden Ausei-nandersetzung mit zentralen didaktischen Ideen onlinebasierte Selbstlernmodule zur Verfügung gestellt. Das Konzept wurde über drei Jahre (2021–2024) entwi-ckelt, erprobt und evaluiert.
