Driven by rising electricity prices and an easing in legislation since 2024, the number of mini-photovoltaic energy systems (mini-PVs) being installed is increasing substantially. Indoor and outdoor studies of microinverters have been carried out at Paderborn University since 2014. In the indoor lab, conversion efficiencies as a function of load have been measured with high accuracy and ranked according to Euro and CEC weightings; the latest rankings from 2024 are included in this paper. In the outdoor lab, energy yields have been measured using identical and calibrated crystalline silicon PV modules; until 2020, measurements were carried out using 215 Wp modules. Because of increasing PV module power ratings, 360 Wp modules were used from 2020 until 2024. In 2024, the test modules were upgraded to 410 Wp modules, taking into account the increase from 600 W to 800 W of inverter power limits, which is suitable for simplified operation permission (“plug-in”) in many European countries within a homogenised legislation area for such mini-photovoltaic energy systems or “balcony power plants”. This legislation for simplified operation also covers overpowered mini-plants, although the maximum AC output remains limited to 800 W. Presently, yield assessments are being carried out in the outdoor lab, which will take at least a year to be valid and comparable. Kits consisting of PV modules, inverters, and mounting systems are also being evaluated. Yield rankings sometimes differ from efficiency rankings due to the use of different MPPT algorithms with different MPP approach speeds and accuracies. To accelerate yield assessment, we developed a novel, simple formula to determine energy yield for any module and inverter configuration, including overpowered systems. This is a linear approach, determined by just two coefficients, a and b, which are given for several inverters. Diese soll zur automatisierten Verbesserung des Modells verwendet werden. Die vorliegende Arbeit analysiert sowohl Techniken der hybriden Systemidentifikation wie physikalisch motivierte neuronale Netze, als auch Methoden zur Kompensation von Modellungenauigkeiten im Beobachterentwurf. Basierend auf der Analyse wird ein neuartiger, modellbasierter Beobachter entworfen, der Systemzustände und Modellungenauigkeiten gleichzeitig schätzt und insbesondere eine parametrische, physikalisch interpretierbare Darstellung der Ungenauigkeiten erzielt. Diese besteht aus einer Linearkombination von physikalisch interpretierbaren Funktionen, deren dazugehörige, dünnbesetzt modellierte Parameter mithilfe eines augmentierten Zustands parallel zu den Systemzuständen geschätzt werden. Das Novum dieser Arbeit stellt somit die echtzeitfähige Schätzung von Zuständen und Modellungenauigkeiten in physikalisch-technischer Form dar, auf deren Grundlage ein Konzept zur automatisierten Modelladaption umgesetzt wird. "},{"text":"The aim of this thesis is the development of a model-based observer for input-affine, nonlinear systems that achieves a high estimation quality despite model inaccuracies. By additionally providing a parametric, physically interpretable representation of the model inaccuracies, an automated improvement of the model should be enabled. This thesis\r\nanalyzes techniques of hybrid system identification such as physics-guided neural networks, as well as methods for compensating model inaccuracies within the observer design. These challenges can critically impact assets in the distribution grid—e.g., switchgears—intensifying the need to plan, conduct, and manage the maintenance of such assets. Predictive maintenance strategies that analyze assets' current and historical condition data have been discussed as promising approaches toward that end. However, the extant research focuses on designing and improving analytical algorithms or information technology (IT) artifacts while not considering how a maintenance service is cocreated by companies with IT. This research article posits that IT and service must be aligned closely, presenting an ensemble artifact comprising a digital industrial platform and a smart service system for predictive maintenance on the distribution grid. The artifact is evaluated by conducting a willingness-to-pay analysis with asset operators, documenting their demand for condition monitoring and predictive maintenance as an integrated solution, although they still struggle with even getting the condition data of their assets. Verbunden mit zunehmender Belastung von zentralen Komponenten im Verteilnetz durch die Energiewende bedarf es neuer Lösungen, besonders für die wissensintensiven Wartungs- und Instandhaltungsprozesse. Generative Artificial Intelligence als aufstrebende Technologie, insb. durch Large Language Models, zeigt hier erste Erfolge für die Anleitung, Entscheidungsunterstützung und den Wissenstransfer. Aufbauend auf dem Design Science Research Forschungsparadigma wird in diesem Beitrag ein ganzheitlicher Ansatz des Wissensmanagements konzipiert, welcher als zentrale Komponente auf einem Assistenzsystem basiert. Ein Large Language Model generiert Hilfestellungen für Netzmonteure während der Wartung und Instandhaltung auf Basis von Anleitungen. Neben der Konzeption zeigt dieser Beitrag auch die erarbeitete Strategie zur Demonstration und zukünftigen Evaluation der Ergebnisse. However, they can generate off-topic, discriminating, or harmful content. This AI alignment problem often stems from misspecifications during the LLM adoption, unnoticed by the principal due to the LLM’s black-box nature. While various research disciplines investigated AI alignment, they neither address the information asymmetries between organizational adopters and black-box LLM agents nor consider organizational AI adoption processes. Therefore, we propose LLM ATLAS (LLM Agency Theory-Led Alignment Strategy) a conceptual framework grounded in agency (contract) theory, to mitigate alignment problems during organizational LLM adoption. We conduct a conceptual literature analysis using the organizational LLM adoption phases and the agency theory as concepts.
