Die Eigenschaften der Einzelteile und die Prozessgrößen in der Fertigung unterliegen Schwankungen, die bei der Auslegung berücksichtigt werden müssen. Um diese Bauteile stets nach der Spezifikation zu liefern, werden die Prozesse gewöhnlich über die gesamte Prozesskette überwacht und das Bauteil überdimensioniert. Treten unvorhersehbare Störungen in der Prozesskette auf, kann das Bauteil nicht mehr weiter produziert werden. Entweder muss die Störung im Prozess behoben werden, was nicht immer möglich ist und die schon teils produzierte Charge muss vernichtet werden, oder der Teil der Prozesskette nach der Störung muss angepasst werden. Dies kann z.B. durch eine Änderungskonstruktion, wie der Anpassung der Fügepunktpositionen und der -anzahl, geschehen. In dieser Dissertation wurde eine Auslegungsmethode zur strukturellen elastischen Auslegung punktgefügter Bauteile entwickelt, mit der eine Anpassungskonstruktion, z.B. auf solche Störungen, möglich ist. Diese Methode basiert auf der Ausnutzung des Einflusses von geometrischen Bauteilgrößen, wie z.B. der Bauteildicke und der Fügepunktpositionierung, von veränderten Fügepunkteigenschaften sowie dem Verständnis zwischen Prozessgrößen und den erzeugten Fügepunkteigenschaften.","lang":"eng"},{"lang":"eng","text":"The design of joined components enables the production of structural components, which consist of many individual parts and are combined by a large number of joining elements. Since the properties of the individual parts and the process parameters in manufacturing can scatter, the deviations must be considered in the design. To always deliver these components according to specification, the processes are usually monitored over the entire process chain and the component is over dimensioned. If unforeseeable disruptions occur in the process chain, the component can no longer be produced. Either the malfunction in the process must be rectified, which is not always possible, and the batch that has already been partially produced must be destroyed, or the part of the process chain after the malfunction needs to be adjusted. This can be done, for example, by changing the design, such as adjusting the joints positions and number. In this PhD thesis, a design method for structural elastic designing of point-joined components was developed. With that method a revised design can be defined, e.g. in order to meet unforeseeable disruptions in the process chain. Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) is concerned with the development of intelligent systems and robots that can explain and justify their actions, decisions, recommendations, and so on. However, the cooperative construction of explanations remains a key but under-explored issue. This short paper proposes an architecture for intelligent systems that promotes a co-constructive and interactive approach to explanation generation. Specifically, we analyze the effects of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) on the number of job postings and skill profiles for tax department positions in large U.S. firms. Understanding how tax reform affects the demand for tax employees is important for quantifying potential compliance costs and assessing how firms adjust their tax planning capacity in response to new regulations. Additionally, our findings provide insights into the evolving skill sets required in the context of technological change and intensifying competition for talent. To address our research question, we employ textual analyses and machine learning techniques to identify and classify approximately 30,000 tax-related job postings from 1,620 firms over the period of 2015-2020. Using a difference-in-differences research design, we find a 26.7% increase in the number of tax-related job postings in the three years following the TCJA enactment. This translates into approximately 1.5 new tax department employees, which, based on prior literature estimates of tax department size, implies a 21% increase in the size of the average tax department. Focusing on the dynamics, we find that this effect is concentrated in the second year after the reform. However, existing visual inquiry tools rarely consider recent design knowledge or ecosystem understanding. This leads to dissatisfied users and impedes the full realization of ecosystems’ potential. This short paper proposes an archaeological design science approach for enhancing the design of visual inquiry tools (e.g., a canvas) for ecosystems. Preliminary findings reveal 24 relevant artifacts, and shortcomings in the creation of conceptual models and rigorous evaluations. The proposed research process aims to develop design principles for more effective tools to bridge the gap between visual inquiry tools and ecosystems. This research contributes to design science research by reutilizing design knowledge and further developing the archaeological design approach.
