However, the structural resolution in the computer tomograph depends on the object and must therefore be determined separately for each measurement task. The previous approaches to structural resolution determination are only related to test specimens. In this paper, less discrete approaches based on a circular pattern are presented, which can be integrated into the measured component. A voxel-based methodology as well as two surface-based methodologies are described. The investigation results regarding the effect of the component position on the structural resolution are obtained on the basis of real CT measurements. A comparison is also completed with the well-known hourglass method. The results show that the resolution depends on the object being measured, with similar values being obtained for the same object using different methods.
"}],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"publication_status":"published","publication_identifier":{"issn":["2673-8244"]},"citation":{"short":"M. Following the call for rigorous methodological research on platform workers (Cropanzano et al., 2023), this symposium sheds light on the career development of platform workers by taking central stakeholders (e.g., workers, requesters, platform) into account. The five contributions cover diverse methodological approaches (e.g., longitudinal qualitative interviews, longitudinal quantitative surveys, diary studies), investigating online and offline platform workers from different online labor platforms (OLPs) in Asia, Europe, and the US. We bring together researchers from different fields (e.g., economics, management, psychology). They investigate how platform workers experience working on OLPs and how such experiences shape their careers. The symposium’s contributions collectively deepen our understanding of the platform economy by addressing platform design (cf. presentation [P] #P1, #P2), psychological aspects, such as well-being, linked to the interaction of workers with the requesters (cf. #P3), the decision-making of workers within the platform economy and its link to the gender pay gap (cf. #P4), and by proposing a novel framework of Transactional Careers to better understand the complex career development of platform workers (cf. #P5). This symposium will provide a platform for exchange among scholars from different fields interested in the platform economy to contributes substantial scientific implications for platform workers, policymakers, and OLPs for their important endeavor to develop a sustainable digitalized labor market, considering the role of different stakeholders.","lang":"eng"}],"status":"public","publisher":"Academy of Management","date_updated":"2025-10-15T10:37:27Z","author":[{"first_name":"Annabelle","last_name":"Hofer","full_name":"Hofer, Annabelle"},{"last_name":"Rivkin","full_name":"Rivkin, Wladislaw","first_name":"Wladislaw"},{"last_name":"Strich","orcid":"0000-0002-0170-9025","id":"122631","full_name":"Strich, Franz","first_name":"Franz"},{"full_name":"Ihl, Andreas","last_name":"Ihl","first_name":"Andreas"},{"first_name":"Anne-Sophie","last_name":"Mayer","full_name":"Mayer, Anne-Sophie"},{"full_name":"Lei, Xue","last_name":"Lei","first_name":"Xue"},{"first_name":"Lian","full_name":"Zhou, Lian","last_name":"Zhou"},{"last_name":"Huang","full_name":"Huang, Xinran","first_name":"Xinran"},{"first_name":"Vera M.","full_name":"Schweitzer, Vera M.","last_name":"Schweitzer"},{"last_name":"Genz","full_name":"Genz, Sabrina","first_name":"Sabrina"},{"full_name":"Gerten, Elisa","last_name":"Gerten","first_name":"Elisa"},{"first_name":"Lucas","full_name":"Trutwin, Lucas","last_name":"Trutwin"},{"full_name":"Dunn, Michael","last_name":"Dunn","first_name":"Michael"},{"first_name":"Isabel","full_name":"Munoz, Isabel","last_name":"Munoz"},{"first_name":"Pyeonghwa","last_name":"Kim","full_name":"Kim, Pyeonghwa"},{"first_name":"Clea","full_name":"O’Neil, Clea","last_name":"O’Neil"},{"full_name":"Salman, Heba","last_name":"Salman","first_name":"Heba"},{"first_name":"Steven","last_name":"Sawyer","full_name":"Sawyer, Steven"}],"date_created":"2025-10-13T11:50:08Z","title":"Innovation of the Platform Economy: Key Stakeholders and Starting Points for Sustainable Careers","conference":{"name":"Academy of Management"},"doi":"10.5465/amproc.2024.11730symposium","publication_status":"published","publication_identifier":{"issn":["0065-0668","2151-6561"]},"year":"2024","citation":{"chicago":"Hofer, Annabelle, Wladislaw Rivkin, Franz Strich, Andreas Ihl, Anne-Sophie Mayer, Xue Lei, Lian Zhou, et al. “Innovation of the Platform Economy: Key Stakeholders and Starting Points for Sustainable Careers.” In <i>Academy of Management Proceedings</i>. While some workers value the autonomy and flexibility of gig work, they also face unique challenges, including job insecurity and a lack of available career paths. Platforms are very limited in actively providing resources to their workers. However, platforms can shape their workers’ work environment by actively prioritizing different design attributes. Our study is among the first to uncover how these attributes contribute to workers’ intention to pursue a lasting career in gig work. Based on a PLS modelling approach with data from a two-wave quantitative survey involving 652 gig workers, we find that platforms’ utilitarian, hedonic, and relational design positively affect gig workers’ career commitment. Furthermore, we find evidence for the mediating role of gig workers’ thriving. Our research contributes to a better understanding of how platform design attributes can contribute to careers on gig work platforms."}],"status":"public","type":"conference","publication":"ICIS 2024 Proceedings"},{"type":"conference","abstract":[{"text":"The rapid advancement of AI and automation is reshaping virtually every facet of contemporary business and society. Presently, rotary draw bending (RDB) is one of the most commonly used cold-forming industrial process for bending metal tubes. Pressure die is a fundamental forming tool in RDB processes, and it is conventionally made by various grades of comparatively expensive alloy steels. This research presents a novel design of a pressure die which can be 3D printed by using inexpensive polymeric filaments. In this research paper, the 3D-printed pressure die is named as “FFF-pressure die.” The material used to fabricate the FFF-pressure die is a thermoplastic polymer known as “ecoPLA.” The mechanical properties of ecoPLA are studied in relation to the process conditions of a RDB process. Firstly, an initial feasibility of using the FFF-pressure die in a RDB process is obtained by conducting a quick static stress analysis with actual process conditions. After initial feasibility, a complete RDB process is developed and simulated with actual process conditions and material properties. The FFF-pressure die is then practically fabricated by FFF 3D printer and experimentally tested on an industrial RDB machine. The results of practical experiments are compared with the simulation results. In order to make a comparison of the FFF-pressure die with the conventional metal pressure die, the simulation and practical process is also conducted with the conventional metal pressure die. A performance and cost comparison is made between the polymeric FFF-pressure die and the conventional metal pressure die. Von Mises stresses, contact forces, failure risk, and elastic deformations are analyzed. The advantages and limitations of using the FFF-pressure die in a RDB process are discussed in the end. This research intends to widen the avenue of using cost-effective and lightweight forming tools in metal forming industries.
","lang":"eng"}],"status":"public","_id":"61834","user_id":"106786","language":[{"iso":"eng"}]},{"editor":[{"first_name":"Johannes","last_name":"Klein","full_name":"Klein, Johannes"},{"first_name":"Alexandru","full_name":"Ionita, Alexandru","last_name":"Ionita"},{"full_name":"Bandi, Andras","last_name":"Bandi","first_name":"Andras"}],"status":"public","type":"book_chapter","publication":"Menschlichkeit und Empathie. A grassroots movement of mosques tries to reduce prejudice by organizing guided mosque tours for non-Muslims. While this is an opportunity for intergroup contact in a social psychological sense, contact occurs under sometimes difficult conditions. As yet, its effects have not been investigated empirically. Objective We examine (a) whether visits have an immediate and medium-term effect on prejudice toward Islam and (b) how they change the visitors’ subjective images of Muslims. Methods (a) We survey N = 324 secondary school students in a three-wave panel study in 6 guided mosque tours in different parts of Germany, including a control sample. The tour programme was in line with common practice in the mosques. Standardized measurements were taken immediately before and after the tour and again several months later. (b) We asked about subjective images of Muslims and had subjects report their spontaneous associations with the term Muslim. Results (a) Most, but not all, mosque visits significantly alleviate anti-Islam prejudice in the short term. The effects fall off after several months. (b) After the visit, the image of Muslims possessed more concrete religious content, while negative and menacing associations, such as oppression of women, threat, or so-called Islamic State have decreased. Conclusions Outgroup contact in a mosque works as predicted by the intergroup contact research, even under less than optimal conditions. However, there is potential for improvement of the setup of tours in the interest of a more sustainable impact.","lang":"eng"}],"status":"public","_id":"61900","user_id":"119325","keyword":["Intergroup contact","Anti-Islam attitudes","Anti-Muslim attitudes","Prejudice","Youth"],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"extern":"1"}]
