[{"status":"public","abstract":[{"text":"<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>Endurance training has been shown to be effective in treating adolescents with major depressive disorder (MDD). To integrate endurance training into the therapeutic setting and the adolescents' daily lives, the current performance status of the adolescents should be accurately assessed. This study aims to examine adolescents with MDD concerning exhaustion criteria during a cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET), as well as to compare the values obtained thereon with sex- and age-related control values. The study included a retrospective examination of exhaustion criteria ((i) oxygen consumption (V̇O<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>) plateau, (ii) peak respiratory exchange ratio (RER<jats:sub>peak</jats:sub>) &gt; 1.0, (iii) peak heart rate (HR<jats:sub>peak</jats:sub>) ≥ 95% of the age-predicted maximal HR, and (iv) peak blood lactate concentration (BLC<jats:sub>peak</jats:sub>) &gt; 8.0 mmol⋅L<jats:sup>−1</jats:sup>) during a graded CPET on a cycle ergometer in adolescents with MDD (n = 57). Subsequently, maximal V̇O<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>, peak minute ventilation, V̇O<jats:sub>2</jats:sub> at the first ventilatory threshold, and peak work rate of participants who met at least two of four criteria were compared with published control values using an independent-sample t-test. Thirty-three percent of the total population achieved a V̇O<jats:sub>2</jats:sub> plateau and 75% a RER<jats:sub>peak</jats:sub> &gt; 1.0. The HR and BLC criteria were met by 19% and 22%, respectively. T-test results revealed significant differences between adolescents with MDD and control values for all outcomes. Relative to non‐ERI, ERI has shown robust correlations with psychopathology and mild to moderate associations with physical health parameters (e.g., physical activity, poor sleep quality, body mass index [BMI]). Therefore, we first aimed to investigate the unique contributions of ERI and non‐ERI to psychopathology symptoms while controlling for neuroticism. Second, we sought to explore the combined associations of physical health parameters with several impulsivity forms.</jats:p></jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title>Methods</jats:title><jats:p>German‐speaking adults (<jats:italic>N</jats:italic> = 350, 35.9 ± 14.6 years, 69.1% female, BMI: 24.0 ± 4.8 kg/m<jats:sup>2</jats:sup>, mostly students or employees) completed measures of impulsivity, psychopathology symptoms, neuroticism, and physical health. We gathered measures of two ERI forms: Feelings Trigger Action and Pervasive Influence of Feelings. As a control comparison, we gathered a measure of non‐ERI, the Lack of Follow‐Through scale. We conducted separate path models for Aims 1 and 2.</jats:p></jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title>Results</jats:title><jats:p>For Aim 1, Pervasive Influence of Feelings showed strong links with internalizing symptoms. Feelings Trigger Action and Lack of Follow‐Through showed small links with alcohol use. For Aim 2, poor sleep quality was related to all three impulsivity factors, while physical activity was only related to Pervasive Influence of Feelings and Lack of Follow‐Through. BMI showed a curvilinear association with impulsivity.</jats:p></jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title>Conclusions</jats:title><jats:p>ERI is more directly relevant than non‐ERI for psychopathology symptoms, emphasizing the need to differentiate between the two ERI types. Force-displacement measurements and macrosections are commonly used methods to validate numerical models of clinching processes. However, these ex-situ methods often lead to springback of elastic deformations and crack-closing after unloading. In contrast, the in-situ computed tomography (CT) can provide three-dimensional images of the clinching point under loading conditions. So far, the quantity of elastic springback that causes measuring deviations between in- and ex-situ measurements is not determined. In this paper, a method is described to quantitatively compare the results of in-situ CT, ex-situ CT and CT scans of cut specimens, which are prepared for macrosectioning, among each other. The method is applied to a single-lap shear test of two clinched aluminum sheets. Here, the test is conducted to specific process steps, then the specimen is CT scanned in-situ (during loading) and ex-situ (after unloading). In the field of manufacturing technology, a wide variety of approaches are being used to improve both resource and energy efficiency. Efficiency as well as sustainability can be improved by creating a circular economy or through energy-efficient recycling processes. As part of the interdisciplinary research group \"Light—Efficient—Mobile\" investigations on the energy-efficient friction-induced recycling process have been carried out at the department of Forming and Machining Technology at Paderborn University. E.g. using the friction-induced recycling process, different formless solid aluminum materials can be direct recycled into semi-finished products in an energy-efficient manner. The results of investigations with regard to the influence of the geometrical shape and filling rate of the aluminum particles to be recycled as well as the rotational speed of the continuously rotating wheel are explained in this paper. In addition to the recycling of aluminum chips, aluminum particles like powders from the field of additive manufacturing are processed. Based on these results, the future potentials of solid-state recycling processes and their contribution to the circular economy are discussed. To elucidate the origin of the ohmic part of the spectrum, activated carbon electrodes were prepared with different contents of polyacrylic acid as binder. Their impedance spectra and cyclic voltammograms were recorded using sulfuric acid of five different concentrations as the electrolyte. To distinguish electrolyte resistance and resistances related to the activated carbon layer of the electrode, the specific electrolyte conductivity was independently measured and compared against the ohmic part of the electrochemical impedance spectra (EIS). The capacitive cyclic voltammograms show larger resistive contributions with higher scan rate and lower electrolyte conductivity. Comparing the ohmic part of the EIS to the specific resistance of the electrolyte, a linear function with no statistically significant offset was found. Diese sind in der Lage, umfangreiche Daten während ihres Betriebs zu sammeln und über digitale Netzinfrastrukturen zur Verfügung zu stellen. Gemeinsam mit weiteren Daten aus der Betriebsphase versprechen sie wertvolle Erkenntnisse über das Produkt und dessen Nutzer, welche für die Hersteller der CPS insbesondere für die Planung zukünftiger Produktgenerationenrelevant sind. Die zielgerichtete Nutzung von Betriebsdaten in der strategischen Produktplanung stellt produzierende Unternehmen jedoch noch vor zahlreiche Herausforderungen, z. B. hinsichtlich der Identifizierung Erfolg versprechender Use Cases. Das vorliegende Buch greift diese Herausforderungen auf und stellt ein Instrumentarium vor, das produzierende Unternehmen zur datengestützten Produktplanung befähigt.
