This requirement has become even more important since the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by the European Union in 2018. In practice, GDPR compliance involves conducting effective privacy assessments, requiring close collaboration between stakeholders with diverse expertise-including developers, privacy experts, legal experts, and auditors. This thesis introduces a multi-layered definition of privacy-related data, grounded in GDPR’s notion of personal data, and presents Privacy-Relevant Input Classification Engine (PRICE), a command-line tool for statically labeling privacy-related data collected by Android apps. Using PRICE, we examine data collection patterns across Android apps and assess how accurately these apps report their data collection practices. Our analysis reveals that apps most frequently collect data capable of partially identifying users, highlighting the need for greater consistency in privacy-aware development and reporting. Complementing this analysis, we investigate developers’ experiences with Google Play Store’s Data Safety Section (DSS) through a survey and analysis of online developer discussions. This study identifies key challenges developers face in completing the DSS, including difficulties in identifying privacy-related data and limited understanding of the form.Building on these findings, the thesis explores how static program analysis can be used to automate and support privacy assessments. We introduce Assessor View, a static analysis-based web tool designed to assist multiple stakeholders involved in privacy evaluations. Assessor View provides a unified view of privacy-related dataflows and supports collaboration across technical and non-technical roles. Qualitative evaluations with technical and legal participants indicate that the tool’s warnings and guidance are valuable to Data Protection Officers and privacy experts, representing a significant step toward improving communication between legal and technical experts and streamlining privacy assessments. Finally, we extend both PRICE and Assessor View to more directly support stakeholder needs by enabling accurate, source code-driven report generation. The narrow interfacial gaps created during mechanical joining—typically of tens to hundreds of micrometers—lead to highly localized chemical environments with nonuniform distributions of chloride ions, hydroxide ions, and oxygen. These micro-environmental variations strongly influence pit initiation and growth, however, their impact on joint performance remains insufficiently quantified. The present numerical study investigates the sensitivity of pitting corrosion to local chemical conditions using a phase-field modeling framework. Systematic parameter variations are performed to examine how different electrolyte compositions affect pit evolution within joint interfaces. The results provide insight into corrosion-driven degradation mechanisms in mechanically joined assemblies and support future efforts to integrate corrosion modeling into the performance prediction of sheet metal components.
","lang":"eng"}],"date_created":"2026-10-05T09:33:18Z","type":"journal_article","publication_identifier":{"issn":["0972-2815","0975-1645"]},"author":[{"full_name":"Chen, Chin","last_name":"Chen","first_name":"Chin","id":"114741"},{"first_name":"Martin","last_name":"Hofmann","full_name":"Hofmann, Martin"},{"full_name":"Wallmersperger, Thomas","first_name":"Thomas","last_name":"Wallmersperger"}],"title":"Numerical Investigation of Pitting Corrosion in Mechanically Jointed Components","year":"2026","intvolume":" 79","publication_status":"published","date_updated":"2026-10-05T09:37:59Z","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"article_number":"153","doi":"10.1007/s12666-026-03894-x"},{"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"_id":"67395","user_id":"75657","author":[{"id":"75657","full_name":"Irmak, Hayrettin","orcid":"https://orcid.org/0009-0009-6267-2957","first_name":"Hayrettin","last_name":"Irmak"},{"last_name":"Marten","orcid":"0009-0001-6433-7839","first_name":"Thorsten","full_name":"Marten, Thorsten","id":"338"},{"id":"553","full_name":"Tröster, Thomas","first_name":"Thomas","last_name":"Tröster"}],"conference":{"end_date":"2026-06-26","name":"ICCS29 - 29th International Conference on Composite Structures","start_date":"2026-06-22","location":"Cagliari, Italy"},"year":"2026","status":"public","title":"Analysis of the effect of fibre-prestressing on residual stresses in CFRP/steel hybrid components using a micromechanics-based finite element simulation with a dehomogenization method","date_updated":"2026-10-05T09:49:44Z","date_created":"2026-10-05T09:39:49Z","place":"Cagliari, Italy","department":[{"_id":"9"},{"_id":"321"},{"_id":"149"}],"type":"conference_abstract","keyword":["fibre-prestressing","residual stresses","process simulation","prepreg","dehomogenization method"],"citation":{"mla":"Irmak, Hayrettin, et al. “Analysis of the Effect of Fibre-Prestressing on Residual Stresses in CFRP/Steel Hybrid Components Using a Micromechanics-Based Finite Element Simulation with a Dehomogenization Method.” <i>ICCS29 - 29th International Conference on Composite Structures</i>, 2026.","bibtex":"@inproceedings{Irmak_Marten_Tröster_2026, place={Cagliari, Italy}, title={Analysis of the effect of fibre-prestressing on residual stresses in CFRP/steel hybrid components using a micromechanics-based finite element simulation with a dehomogenization method}, booktitle={ICCS29 - 29th International Conference on Composite Structures}, author={Irmak, Hayrettin and Marten, Thorsten and Tröster, Thomas}, year={2026} }","ama":"Irmak H, Marten T, Tröster T. Using service-dominant logic (SDL) as a theoretical lens, we review the distinctive properties of these concepts, introduce the agent concept into SDL, and analyze GenAI’s precise role in service exchange processes. We employ a two-phase research approach: First, we conduct a systematic literature review to derive defining properties of resources, actors, beneficiaries, and agents. We then assess eight contemporary GenAI systems against these properties. Our evidence indicates that GenAI is best understood as an operant resource and, depending on design and context, as an actor and agent. Conversely, GenAI does not qualify as a beneficiary, as it is neither individually capable of phenomenologically experiencing and determining value nor a social system of individuals with such capacities. Our findings propose an update to SDL’s core concepts and understanding, as well as a nuanced conceptual clarification of GenAI’s role, offering guidance for researchers and practitioners seeking to understand and design service interactions that incorporate GenAI.","lang":"eng"}],"issue":"78","publication":"Electronic Markets","doi":"https://doi.org/10.1007/s12525-026-00932-w","main_file_link":[{"url":"https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s12525-026-00932-w","open_access":"1"}],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"publication_status":"published","date_updated":"2026-10-08T10:52:07Z","article_type":"original","intvolume":" 36","title":"Resource, actor, beneficiary, or agent? Rather, what is crucial is how technical, organizational, and communicative dimensions are interconnected and whether this results in recognizable added value for researchers in their day-to-day work. In this context, both intrinsic and extrinsic motivational factors influence the willingness to actively and continuously use research data management (RDM) systems. This article synthesizes experiences from two collaborating subprojects on information infrastructure (INF) within two Collaborative Research Centers. Both develop and operate RDM structures for interdisciplinary research consortia in the field of engineering and face comparable challenges: Adhering to the rules of good scientific practice when handling data is under pressure in today’s world; the benefits of individual data entries sometimes remain abstract, and additional process steps can reduce acceptance of technical solutions. The effort involved is primarily evaluated based on whether, from the researchers’ perspective, it yields a recognizable benefit. Based on this, specific approaches for user-oriented integration of different RDM levels are presented. These include the integration of RDM tools into existing research tools and workflows, cross-subproject access to information, as well as SPARQL-based search capabilities and future approaches to knowledge exploration. One concrete example is an implemented adapter that automatically transfers data sets from existing Excel files and electronic lab notebook entries from eLabFTW into the RDM system, thereby reducing the number of required process steps. Since the adapter was deployed, a measurable increase in the number of datasets imported into the RDM system has been observed. Such technical and procedural measures are complemented by workshops, personalized support, systematic feedback, and the continuous adaptation of the systems to the needs of researchers. This poster illustrates that RDM systems must be understood as sociotechnical systems. It is only through the interplay of infrastructure, process integration, communication, and perceived benefits that individual RDM developments can be transformed into a practical service. The collaboration between the two INF subprojects makes it possible to pool experiences, solution approaches, and transferable design principles across institutions and research consortia.","lang":"eng"},{"text":"Die erfolgreiche Bereitstellung von Forschungsdaten hängt nicht allein von der technischen Qualität einzelner Systeme ab. Building on a rich research portfolio that spans from early workflow automation to robotic process automation (RPA), large language models (LLMs) are the most recent disruptive technologies to influence all BPM capability areas. Particularly, these technologies fuel the emerging research fields of AI-enhanced business process management systems and autonomous process execution. In a design science research approach, we develop a modular LLM agent architecture that effectively enables the adaptation and execution of business processes. The architecture integrates a Frame Agent that can generate process descriptions and an Operational Agent that autonomously executes processes based on the Frame Agent’s process descriptions. It further enables a future Tactical Agent for autonomous process adaptations. We demonstrate the architecture’s applicability and utility with the real-world case of a meter-to-cash process, comparing it to the performance of an RPA bot. Our findings provide early insights into the challenges faced by autonomous process execution and its relation with RPA in terms of adaptability, flexibility, and complexity in autonomous process execution. While researchers can build on our findings to establish modular LLM-agent architectures for autonomous process execution, practitioners can derive early insights into the design of LLM agents for process automation.","lang":"eng"}],"related_material":{"link":[{"relation":"confirmation","url":"https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0306437926000621?via%3Dihub"}]},"publication":"Information Systems","type":"journal_article","keyword":["Business process management","Large language models","Modular agent architecture","Autonomous process execution","AI-augmented business process management systems"],"date_created":"2026-05-14T11:19:08Z","file":[{"file_name":"IS - Autonomous Process Execution.pdf","file_size":1988723,"access_level":"closed","relation":"main_file","date_updated":"2026-10-08T11:00:19Z","file_id":"67435","content_type":"application/pdf","success":1,"creator":"dabe","date_created":"2026-10-08T11:00:19Z"}],"intvolume":" 141","article_type":"original","date_updated":"2026-10-08T11:01:24Z","publication_status":"published","publication_identifier":{"issn":["0306-4379"]},"author":[{"id":"92908","first_name":"Alexander Marcus","last_name":"Skolik","orcid":"0009-0006-2519-1765","full_name":"Skolik, Alexander Marcus"},{"full_name":"Kaltenpoth, Sascha Benjamin","first_name":"Sascha Benjamin","last_name":"Kaltenpoth","id":"50640"},{"full_name":"Beverungen, Daniel","last_name":"Beverungen","first_name":"Daniel","id":"59677"},{"last_name":"Müller","first_name":"Oliver","full_name":"Müller, Oliver","id":"72849"}],"year":"2026","title":"A modular large language model agent architecture for adaptive and autonomous process-aware execution","doi":"10.1016/j.is.2026.102748","language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"main_file_link":[{"open_access":"1"}],"article_number":"102748"}]
