text: The influence of the hydrophilicity of mesoporous silica on wetting with water
was investigated by comparing a standard hydrophilic MCM-41 and a partially hydrophobicized
material obtained by trimethylsilylation of MCM-41. The materials were characterized
using X-ray diffraction, N2 physisorption, thermogravimetric analysis, infrared
spectroscopy, as well as 29Si and 13C solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.
Trimethylsilylation leads to a reduction of the pore diameter (determined using
density functional theory) from 3.8 to 3.6 nm. Using proton solid-state nuclear
magnetic resonance (NMR) under magic-angle spinning, it was found that the filling
of these narrow pores with increasing amounts of water follows an axial mode,
independent of surface hydrophilicity. The axial model of pore-filling is supported
by the coexistence of two characteristic 1H NMR water signals, one from physisorbed
water molecules, which can exchange protons with silanol groups, and one from
bulk-like water in completely filled pores, where water molecules are in exchange
between sites at the pore wall and sites closer to the center of the pore.

text: Der Vorbereitungsdienst stellt einen zentralen Abschnitt im Professionalisie
rungsprozess angehender Lehrpersonen dar, in dem der Beziehung zwischen Lehramtsanwärter*innen
(LAA) und Mentor*innen eine besondere Bedeutung zukommt. In Nordrhein-Westfalen
(NRW) bestehen bislang keine einheitlich formulierten Anforderungen an Mentor*innen,
was Handlungsspielräume er öffnet und für die konkrete Gestaltung der Arbeitsbeziehung
viel Spielraum lässt. Der Beitrag widmet sich diesem Themenfeld, indem er Einblicke
in ein Dissertationsvorhaben gibt, das die Wahrnehmung der Mentoring-Bezie hung
aus beiden Perspektiven (LAA und Mentor*innen) untersucht. Ziel ist es, zentrale
Merkmale der Arbeitsbeziehungen zu identifizieren und damit Grundlagen für eine
gezielte Unterstützung von Mentoring-Prozessen zu lie fern. Interviews mit Seminarleitungen
und Schulleitungen sowie quantitative Befragungen von LAA und Mentor*innen zeigen
erste Tendenzen auf und verdeutlichen die Bedeutung von Vertrauen, Wertschätzung
und Austausch für eine gelingende kooperative Arbeitsbeziehung im Vorbereitungsdienst

shifting from product-centric offerings toward smart services, but adoption is
still hindered by technical development barriers. We conduct a systematic literature
review of peer-reviewed studies with original industrial evidence and identify
eight barrier categories across data, semantics, integration, governance and modularity.
We map them onto a smart-service architecture and key analytics roles, and relate
them to GenAI building blocks such as LLMs and knowledge graphs, outlining a research
agenda for overcoming technical barriers towards scalable OEM smart service development."

passports (DPP) are intended to provide reliable, interoperable information throughout
the product lifecycle, enabling compliance, transparency, and circularity. This
paper seeks to address the question of how a DPP can be effectively implemented
in the field of engineering, developing a referenced, industry-independent architecture
for this purpose. The layers for data, communication, logical architecture, functions,
and potential are derived from regulation and practice; integration, interoperability,
and validation requirements are discussed using a use case."

text: Android applications collecting data from users must comply with legal frameworks
to ensure data protection. This requirement has become even more important since
the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by the European
Union in 2018. In practice, GDPR compliance involves conducting effective privacy
assessments, requiring close collaboration between stakeholders with diverse expertise-including
developers, privacy experts, legal experts, and auditors. This thesis introduces
a multi-layered definition of privacy-related data, grounded in GDPR’s notion
of personal data, and presents Privacy-Relevant Input Classification Engine (PRICE),
a command-line tool for statically labeling privacy-related data collected by
Android apps. Using PRICE, we examine data collection patterns across Android
apps and assess how accurately these apps report their data collection practices.
Our analysis reveals that apps most frequently collect data capable of partially
identifying users, highlighting the need for greater consistency in privacy-aware
development and reporting. Complementing this analysis, we investigate developers’
experiences with Google Play Store’s Data Safety Section (DSS) through a survey
and analysis of online developer discussions. This study identifies key challenges
developers face in completing the DSS, including difficulties in identifying privacy-related
data and limited understanding of the form.Building on these findings, the thesis
explores how static program analysis can be used to automate and support privacy
assessments. We introduce Assessor View, a static analysis-based web tool designed
to assist multiple stakeholders involved in privacy evaluations. Assessor View
provides a unified view of privacy-related dataflows and supports collaboration
across technical and non-technical roles. Qualitative evaluations with technical
and legal participants indicate that the tool’s warnings and guidance are valuable
to Data Protection Officers and privacy experts,representing a significant step
toward improving communication between legal and technical experts and streamlining
privacy assessments. Finally, we extend both PRICE and Assessor View to more directly
support stakeholder needs by enabling accurate, source code-driven report generation.
These extensions aim to reduce manual effort, improve consistency between implemented
behavior and reported disclosures, and support reliable and transparent privacy
assessments. Collectively, these contributions advance the state of the art in
privacy-aware software engineering and provide a foundation for more systematic,
automated, and legally compliant privacy assessments of Android applications.

is a critical durability concern for mechanically joined sheet metal components
commonly used in automotive and industrial applications. The narrow interfacial
gaps created during mechanical joining—typically of tens to hundreds of micrometers—lead
to highly localized chemical environments with nonuniform distributions of chloride
ions, hydroxide ions, and oxygen. These micro-environmental variations strongly
influence pit initiation and growth, however, their impact on joint performance
remains insufficiently quantified. The present numerical study investigates the
sensitivity of pitting corrosion to local chemical conditions using a phase-field
modeling framework. Systematic parameter variations are performed to examine how
different electrolyte compositions affect pit evolution within joint interfaces.
The results provide insight into corrosion-driven degradation mechanisms in mechanically
joined assemblies and support future efforts to integrate corrosion modeling into
the performance prediction of sheet metal components."
