text: "Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) is an established standard for
describing business processes and workflows. It can also be used to document research
activities and processes in collaboration with researchers who have limited knowledge
of process modelling. However, processes documented in BPMN cannot be directly
transferred into a semantic representation (e.g., as triples).\r\n\r\nSeveral
approaches to developing a BPMN ontology exist, but they are no longer actively
maintained. Metadata4Ing (M4I) is an actively maintained ontology for describing
research processes, with a focus on engineering.\r\n\r\nIn this poster, we present
our approach to mapping processes modelled in BPMN to Metadata4Ing and discuss
potential challenges involved in implementing this mapping.\r\n\r\nOur approach
draws on foundational concepts from the literature on ontology matching and ontology
evaluation and comprises four steps: “process model analysis”, “semantic mapping”,
“conceptual derivation of the ontological structure”, and “assessment of transferability”.
Transferability is assessed using the criteria of “mappability”, “granularity”,
and “extensibility”.\r\n\r\nWe apply the approach to a concrete example from the
enableATO project, which focuses on automated maintenance management in the railway
sector. The overall process of the subproject was iteratively documented in BPMN
through interviews with the six project team members. The process is then transferred
to M4I using the mapping developed. This translates the BPMN process steps into
a semantic notation and makes it possible to associate the resulting research
    data with those steps."

'

text: Computing-in-Memory using DRAM (CIMD) has demonstrated substantial energy
and throughput gains for memory-bound workloads consisting of bulk-bitwise operations,
by performing computation directly within DRAM subarrays. Realizing CIMD, however,
requires a redesign of the memory controller and careful mapping of operands onto
the memory arrays. Presently, accurate FPGA-based testbeds exist but they are
costly and labor-intensive, while open-source simulators are largely trace-based
and cannot execute full application runs. The only full-application CIMD simulator
available, included with MIMDRAM [1], is built on an outdated version of gem5
and its toolchains. We present gem5-CIMD, a full-system CIMD simulation framework
built on the latest gem5 simulation framework. We extend the simulated instruction
set from four bitwise operations to sixteen CIM instructions spanning arithmetic,
relational, conditional, and utility operations across a range of data types and
    bitwidths (4 to 64 bits) . A complete memory-management stack – comprising multi-level
    huge-page support, a CIM-aware allocator, and a subarray-aware address-mapping
scheme – ensures that CIM operands are co-located in the same DRAM subarray. In
addition, gem5-CIMD is aware of the DRAM refresh interval and faithfully models
and schedules the mandatory refresh operations when needed. We provide a CIM standard
library intended as a compiler target and evaluate gem5-CIMD on multiple case
studies including an end-to-end KNN workload. The simulator sources, including
the evaluated workloads, are available at https://github.com/tud-ccc/gem5-CIMD.

text: "Taking pupils’ diverse needs into account is considered a central requirement
of inclusive education (Booth & Ainscow, 2016). These needs are—according to Ainscow’s
(2007) inclusive turn—not primarily ‘special educational needs’, but diverse needs
of all learners. For the rather segregated German educational system, this endeavour
applies especially to primary education, where needs are still developing and
pupils are not yet assigned to different types of schooling according to their
needs and abilities.\r\n\r\nDespite a substantial amount of research on pupils’
basic psychological needs for autonomy, competence and social relatedness (Ryan
et al., 2022), strategies that technology education teachers apply in this regard
are not yet well understood. Besides interventional studies on technology education,
indicating effectiveness of self‑directed and action‑oriented teaching and learning,
there is a dearth of research on how teachers address different needs as a routine.\r\n\r\nThe
purpose of the presented study is therefore to investigate and systematize actions
and strategies teachers apply, and to specify how pupils' needs are considered
when teaching technology education on a given topic.\r\n\r\nThe overall study
used a mixed-methods approach to the question how pupils’ needs are characterized
by themselves and by their teachers, and how they were taken into account in a
lesson adapted and delivered by the teachers. In the sub-study presented here,
participating primary school teachers were interviewed about their consideration
of pupils’ needs whilst planning and conducting a technology education unit on
the functionality of robots.\r\n\r\nThe results gained from qualitative content
analysis of the interviews indicate that although the anticipation of different
needs is considered challenging, teachers possess a substantiate amount of practices
and strategies to take them into account.\r\n\r\nThe paper systematizes the practices
teachers described in structured interviews within strategies and discusses the
contribution of taking basic needs into account for inclusive technology education."

  text: "
\r\n DNA origami nanostructures (DONs) have promising
applications in biomedicine and biosensing, which often require their efficient
binding to target cells. By immobilizing the glycopeptide antibiotic vancomycin
on DONs, DON binding to Gram‐positive and Gram‐negative bacteria can be facilitated.
Here, we investigate how this multivalent binding is affected by the number and
arrangement of the vancomycin modifications on two‐dimensional DONs. We find that
    for both Gram‐positive\r\n Bacillus subtilis\r\n
    \ and Gram‐negative\r\n Escherichia

of vancomycin modifications per DON. In general, binding to\r\n E.
    coli\r\n is stronger than to\r\n B.
subtilis\r\n , which may be attributed to differences
in the architectures of the cell envelopes. Interestingly, for both bacteria,
the total number of vancomycin modifications appears to be more important than
their arrangement, as DONs with 18 vancomycin molecules on one side show similar
binding as DONs with 18 vancomycin molecules distributed over both sides. This
enables the attachment of multiple probe molecules to the vancomycin‐free side
of the DONs for enhancing detection efficiency without compromising binding affinity.
These results may thus provide guidelines for the design and synthesis of vancomycin‐modified
DONs for antimicrobial drug delivery and pathogen detection.\r\n
"

text: The two-qubit controlled-not (C-NOT) gate is an essential component for gate-based
quantum circuits. In fact, its operation, combined with single qubit rotations
allows to realise any quantum circuit. Several strategies have been adopted in
order to build quantum gates. Among them, photonics offers the dual advantage
of excellent isolation from the environment and ease of manipulation at the single
qubit level. Here we adopt a scalable time-multiplexed approach in order to build
a fully reconfigurable architecture capable of implementing a post-selected C-NOT
gate with a fidelity of (93.8 ± 1.4)%. We then show how our time-multiplexed platform
can be employed to combine a C-NOT and a single qubit gate in order to generate
    the four Bell states.

text: Backchannels and fillers are important linguistic expressions in dialogue,
but often treated as "noise" to be bypassed in modern transformer-based language
models. Our work studies the representation of them in language models using three
fine-tuning strategies. The models are trained on three dialogue corpora in English
and Japanese, where backchannels and fillers are preserved and annotated, to investigate
how fine-tuning can help LMs learn their representations. We first apply clustering
analysis to the learnt representation of backchannels and fillers, and have found
increased silhouette scores in representations from fine-tuned models, which suggests
that fine-tuning enables LMs to distinguish the nuanced semantic variation in
different backchannel and filler use. We also use natural language generation
(NLG) metrics and qualitative analysis to confirm that the utterances generated
by fine-tuned language models resemble human-produced utterances more closely.
Our findings suggest the potentials of transforming general LMs into conversational
LMs that are more capable of producing human-like languages adequately.

text: "Classical shadows are succinct classical representations of quantum states\r\nwhich
allow one to encode a set of properties P of a quantum state rho, while\r\nonly
requiring measurements on logarithmically many copies of rho in the size\r\nof
    P. In this work, we initiate the study of verification of classical shadows,\r\ndenoted
classical shadow validity (CSV), from the perspective of computational\r\ncomplexity,
which asks: Given a classical shadow S, how hard is it to verify\r\nthat S predicts
the measurement statistics of a quantum state? We show that\r\neven for the elegantly
simple classical shadow protocol of [Huang, Kueng,\r\nPreskill, Nature Physics
2020] utilizing local Clifford measurements, CSV is\r\nQMA-complete. This hardness
continues to hold for the high-dimensional\r\nextension of said protocol due to
[Mao, Yi, and Zhu, PRL 2025]. Among other\r\nresults, we also show that CSV for
exponentially many observables is complete\r\nfor a quantum generalization of
the second level of the polynomial hierarchy,\r\nyielding the first natural complete
    problem for such a class."
