Based on empirical analysis of the actual situation, necessary improvement of data management and exchange formats in context with AM technology is derived. The purpose of this paper is to understand the actual use of data formats and management in the field of AM. The paper draws conclusions based on an empirical analysis of the used data formats dependent on stakeholder groups.
