						&lt;italic&gt;Ab initio&lt;/italic&gt; molecular dynamics simulations of ambient liquid water and energy decomposition analysis have recently shown that water molecules exhibit significant asymmetry between the strengths of the two donor and/or the two acceptor interactions.&lt;/p&gt;</abstract>
