<abstract lang="eng">A simulation environment for metallic nanostructures based on the Discontinuous Galerkin Time Domain method is presented. The model is used to compute the linear and nonlinear optical response of split ring resonators and to study physical mechanisms that contribute to second harmonic generation.</abstract>
