The unconscious volitional processes, predecisional aspects, and the aspect of self-access are yet rather under-researched. If they are considered, however, procrastination can be understood on an even deeper level and treated more sustainably. Moreover, considering these aspects opens up a humanistic perspective on procrastination episodes, thereby, putting procrastination and procrastination interventions in the bigger picture of self-actualization, self-alienation, and self-growth.
