Their common idea is the separation of user interface components from application logic. Normally, they are deployed as design patterns or basic frameworks of interactive systems. Deploying these architecture paradigms for multimedia systems or embedded real-time systems, first requires an appropriate adaption to the specific aspects of these application areas. We will compare within this position paper two well-known architecture paradigms and motivate an advanced architecture paradigm applicable to real-time, embedded multimedia systems.
