Abstract
<p>PMHS proved to be a suitable terminal reductant for P(iii)/P(v) redox cycling with a methyl-substituted phosphetane as catalyst and BuOAc as solvent. The formation of water by silanol condensation was identified as main pathway of siloxane formation.</p>
